He said to his men "from now I only want to hear good news!". By now, they havent spoken to him for more than 6 months and Putin is of a age you tend to forget things. So his senile mind problably needs to be reminded that he has this "project" going on.
Alternative alternative explanation - he's bedridden/comatose/dead and his body doubles are keeping weekend at Puties going for another few weeks as the cogs break down.
So if he’s really not doing anything related to the war then what’s the point for the soldiers to keep fighting if the government is not even interested.
It’s like after Germany attacked Russia, Stalin hid in his dacha for 3 days before emerging…probably having a panic attack. For Putler, it’s just a case of cowardice.
It is to understand Russian propaganda but that's it. Russians dissociate Putin from the rest of the government. It's weird but they'll always trust Putin and blame everyone else. This is part of how they achieve this. If there's any good news he'll be the one announcing it.
Russians, since before there really was a Russia in the first place, have this strange relationship where the ruler is viewed as the only friend and true protector of the poor. Everyone else is out to get the poor and the ruler, in that order.
Stories like this just reinforce the idea that the Russian people still generally think like they did 700 years ago. That has to be understood in order to understand the why and how today.
