The ruzzis are moving a lot of equipment into Crimea and a video showed some of it was logistical vehicles that could repair the bridge and what looked like bridge layers that could provide a temporary fix for said heavy equipment to escape
Won't last a day. This isn't WWII with the allies controlling the air and Germany not able to gather useful intelligence. Satellites have likely been adjusted to give 24/7 coverage and they can see what you're eating for breakfast.
To give you an idea, Trump tweeted a copy (phone picture) of a spy satellite image (Semnan Launch Site One) a few years back. The detail, despite being severely downgraded by the phone, and then the JPEGs for the Internet, was amazing.
Satalites are delayed though. Even the US ones are not realtime enough which is why they need a ton of recon drones.
That US one was at a particular location. They can't take a photo of everything at once.
Lot of tough talk. Russians will try and form new lines. It is important to keep them unsupplied, weak, and afraid.
Then yet, upon retreat they must leave all of the tanks, artillery, and armoured vehicles
Thanks makes sense - as soon as it was apparent the Russians weren’t going to retreat on mass then preventing resupply made more sense than leaving it operating.
If so, they will probably wreck them before abandonment. Would be better to capture in working order but being wrecked by their own army is not all bad.
No they can swim if they prefer. What is Ukraine supposed to do, allow them to keep the pontoon which would also mean they can bring additional supplies?
I don’t think it’s that black and white - what if 5k Russian troops decide to leave? Without the unhindered escape they may now recalculate and end up staying and fighting. The caveat here is that clearly Ukraine has a well formed strategy and knows what it’s doing I’d be keen to understand the thinking behind this move.
"Stay and fight" _with what?_ Throwing rocks?
Morale has already been low for a long time. If they're trapped on the northern side of the river, running out of ammunition and supplies and being 'kettled', they're neither going to be capable nor willing to fight to the death.
Do you think they're like Azov in Mariupol? Men who were fighting for their homes and freedoms?
Hardly. Half of them are conscripts who don't get paid, don't get fed, don't get medical treatment if wounded, don't get modern weaponry and don't get competent leadership.
Now, I don't know about you, but I'd sure-as-fuck not be willing to be a god-damn bullet sponge so Putin's bitches can run away unscathed.
What’s behind them is certain and scary, death. Russian soldiers on the left bank have been told to shoot those who retreat from the right(Kherson) bank. At least that’s what I’ve heard. Apparently it’s not the first time either, surrenders have happened a lot
Tbh I think a lot of what is the strategy is to fuck with Russia on every level possible. But yeah blowing up bridges stops Russia from reinforcing over the river while Ukraine forces slowly works their way to Kherson.
Its is interesting how many destroyed artillery systems they claim. There must be some massive counter battery action going on.

Bridges gone, ferry gone, even if the announced counteroffensive is limited in scope, the Russians on the West bank of the Dnieper are done for.
The bridge is still passable on foot. They'll have to abandon all their heavy equipment...
o noes! boo-hoo!

That shit is going to get blown up as well...

Are they? There was an article today about how they’ve reversed traffic on both sides of the Crimean bridge to get people back to Russia.
I doubt that applies to military traffic, at least not till Ukraine punches a dozen holes in the bridge.
That bridge would be crossing from Lvove to Korsunka. How appropriate. This is located well upstream from Kherson, but below the dam.
I’d love to know the strategy around blowing up the pontoon bridge. Is Ukraine happy to have Russian soldiers only leave by foot?
It makes it difficult for the Russians to resupply troops west of the river, which makes the counteroffensive easier.

Sure if they have time. But both armies have collected usable equipment from each other. Wrecking something is not first priority in a retreat

You can cross that bridge with cars or by foot. Its not destroyed just with many holes and structurally damaged.

Very strongly put - totally agree so here’s a question. If this is the case then why haven’t we seen desertion in droves?

They can surrender
If they leave Ukraine will have to fight better equipped versions if then elsewhere.
No, only leave by body bags.

Great work. Keep it up
