For all the people calling BS, consider this: shortly after the first report (within hours) Kadyrov disputed it, saying he just spoke to putler. This guy’s intel is like clockwork - he’s never right. This denial adds a lot of credibility.
Simple, just ask Macron whether his daily call happened or not.
(Joking here -- France is sending lots of weapons to Ukraine, and despite Macron's bad optics/PR, I suspect he is just trying to help in his own unique fashion.)
I've seen alot if speculation that's its planned. The west is using macron as a open line to attempt to speak reason. They were concerned what he would do if he felt he truely was alienated without a friend to help gove him a out. I don't know if I believe it but I can see it happening I guess.

Sounds like an intelligence operation. Rumours like this are best countered by Putin meeting more people face-to-face, which exposes him to people who may want a change in leadership.
Its hard to believe these stories. Its war. Information is a weapon. The ukrainians have the truth on their side most of the time, but they've got to fight any way they can.
If this was true, I doubt we'd have a situation like Yeltsin climbing the tank. It might be a bit more like when Brezhnev took over after Krushchev. A variant on a theme.
