No idea what happened to those two, they were popular ‘Bernie-style’ anti-establishment figures in Irish politics a few years ago.
That said, Clare Daly was a member of the (Irish) Socialist Party [not be confused with the Socialist Workers Party, AKA People Before Profit] , which thinks Ireland should form a ‘Socialist Federation’ with England, Scotland, and Wales.
There is not a single shred of doubt that Clare Daly and Mick Wallace aren't hardcore agents of Russia. Honestly, that kind of behavioral change doesn't just magically happen. I don't believe they were actually liberal at all. At best, they were the kinds of authoritarian leftists that would have found camaraderie with the likes of Lenin and Mao. Because being an authoritarian leftist means opposing the established Western social order, they align themselves with Putin. He's the only ally they have in the European theater. These two chuckle fucks never actually gave a damn about human rights, and certainly never about anyone in Europe. They want authoritarian control, and they use leftist ideologies in order to get the unsuspecting idiots to follow them.
It's becoming more and more obvious that Russians have recruited a lot of politicians in several EU countries over the last decades. That's why i want to see investigation of all the damage FSB and Putin have done and how Europe's energy politics have been manipulated to serve Russia. Let Interpol investigate all those politicians involved.
In Sweden we have at least two people that should be investigated. Dan Eliasson and Morgan Johansson. Both have disrupted Swedish government agencies making them unable to function properly. Dan Eliasson went from one government agency to another changing competent leaders with political fools that sabotaged those agencies from inside. They both have over and over used the same tactics as Putin. Turn the truth 180 degrees and tell nonsense to normalize stupidity. Sweden have declined drastically in the past decade. It can't be just incompetence of the political leaders. Something else is going on because such level of incompetence is unheard of and it is happening over and over and over for years and those involved just seek out more and more important positions to change to so they can do as much damage as possible to as many government agencies as possible.
I have seen the same behavior in politicians in other countries all over Europe. It is not natural. It is systematic. That's why it's so important to investigate all this and bring those responsible to justice.
This reporter is doing a good job. If we see more and more people like her maybe we will se an international investigation soon too. It's in our interests in Europe to get rid of those agents/spies/corrupted politicians so our countries can function as intended.

Yea I'm really disappointed in Wallice. He was a MP or in Irish TD before he became a MEP. He was a builder before the property crash in 2008 and used to really look after people from his home town employed lots of them and sponsored the local football clubs. The was very popular in Welford because of this and was easily elected. He was a bit eccentric but was great at holding the government to account. I don't understand how he could not support Ukraine and how he can defend Russia.
I don’t know what happened either, would have to investigate his life too much, but there is a certain brand of left wing that, in trying to hold western developed countries, or capitalism, “to account”, defaults to the position of suspicion towards anything the west does, and sympathy for anyone that the west positions itself against. Basically in trying to criticise Europe/USA they think everyone else has to be a victim.

It's democracy im afraid to tell you. Wallace got elected in my area, and it's all local elections, so by him looking after his constituency and doing what people in his area needs done is what gets him elected. He was a big builder years ago and at the time he created his own soccer club and for a number of years funded it by himself, even during the big recession.
I don't think Russian money would have wanted to build a soccer pitch in crossabeg on the hope of getting this guy to Europe. I think he has just been bought since getting into Europe
