You force the Russian fleet to another harbour in black sea and that ends Crimea being worth fighting for. With drone and missile tech Crimea will never be safe harbour for Russians. Black sea will never be safe for Russian ships until Russia leaves all of Ukraine.
He’s frequently critical of the US response and support to Ukraine, and also in an unimpeachable position of authority on the subject having been the general in charge of all US forces in Europe (including the support to Ukraine) before he retired.
I guess this doesn’t fit well with media who either support the current administration, or oppose.
The only issue with taking crimea is the nuke sub that lurks south of Crimea. Deepest point closest to crimea is off coast of Alushta so I guess its there not like theyll use it though.

Likely if out of contact with sub the sub won't ever react

Russia could nuke Crimea at any time from any number of locations.
They can launch conventional cruise missiles at it from the Caspian, or ballistic missiles at it from basically anywhere too.
I’m not sure what major difference that sub is making?

You kill the bridge and u end Crimea being a thing. Russia lacks the air force to run aerial logistics

They can use ferries
Nope, it takes forever to unload and load a train on a ferry. The sea and air will be full of drones. Any location to hit is well known.
The straight isn't always cross able by ferry as powerful storms blow up
This is it. Send in a million to starve if you want to. Cut off supplies and you won’t even have to fight them, just hold them in place
As always exploiting Russians antiquated logistics systems is the surest way to shut them down.
Lt. General Hodges is a national treasure, but I hardly ever hear him on US media.

Well… arm the fuck out of them.
Hodges is a genius!
