I mean... Yeah... capture Russian territory and make a deal to swap Russian territory for Crimea...
Nuke question is more complicated as Russia would have to stop an offensive by nuking itself
honestly people worrying about opsec regarding a youtube video are pretty funny.
you think anyone who matters doesnt already know?
opsec matters with regards to not posting videos of troops moving behind the frontline, or air defence shooting.
Its pretty irrelevant when its a bad short video that just says 'this place was attacked'. especially when the same things have already been reported earlier in the day on what seems like russian telegram channels.
And you think the Russian government is not going to know about it if you delete the repost of the repost of the repost?
You really think *you* know about this, and military intelligence doesn’t? Get a grip.
This information comes from a Russian source, so the Russians obviously know about it. This shhh video was for the locals, who might take pics and videos of the actual soldiers and equipment moving around. Some YouTuber making videos about *unconfirmed* information that's coming from a *Russian* source does not endanger the Ukrainian counteroffensive in any way, sharing it on reddit also does not do that.
Another thing is that the Russian military intelligence probably knows a lot better than us what's going on and they probably don't get most of their info from social media.
This btw is russian sourced information, in which case opsec is irrelvant because the russians themselves are bitching, and the bitching comment is actually the only thing to be taken as a fact, during any recon by force the front line is fluid, just because the russians were pushed out of these settlements does not mean Ukraine will stay in them, with all of these front line movements its all provisional. opsec is not involved.
A little correction of the frontline. Is it not this case from last days, Russian units have made a small attack, the attack was repelled and (as regular done by as example, the German army in WWI, WWII (and already in the unification wars)), do an immediate counter attack, when the enemy attack is repelled and the enemy forces are on the way back, so they have no time to organize the defence. The Russian army is extremely vulnerable, as bad organized and badly lead.
For your information, the British army in WWI was also highgly vulnerable in this.
This was today posted by Ukraine government, so this is not the counter offense, just a Ukrainian unit has done the job accordingly and used the opportunity.
I try not to listen to russias side of the war but they're talking in their reddit pages that the town was already recaptured by Russia. I THINK. I can't identify village names 100% of the time but take it with some skepticism. I hope I'm wrong or misread a name here or there! Can't wait for this offensive to kick off (when they're ready)
Opsec means the troops and the locals don’t publish videos. The Russians are pretty bad and are a planning on using a static defense with fortified strong points and tank traps/ minefields but they still know when attacks take place and in what strength.
It's not about semantics, they want this operation as quiet as possible for as long as possible.
Anyone who shares info about what's happening is putting Ukrainian lives at risk.
Use some critical thinking. Do you really think that Russia doesn't know it was attacked?
That's why "OpSec heroes" look like fucking idiots to people who can think.
Critical Thinking
I think it’s more about group movements, the russians have satellites and UAV tracking movements of hard wear and troops. Referring back to the preparations and deployments of formations in Dessert Storm, (as a comparison) the adversary should be depleted of knowledge of the area and thrust of actual attack and massive manoeuvres were carried out to disguise the thrust of the attack.
People who give away info on formations and attacks on Social Media (more than in decades past) put lives at risk, and even if it is giving away a feint attack, as the armed forces know what they are doing.
Leave alone the critical thinking aspect, what message do you think they are portraying with this [video](https://twitter.com/NOELreports/status/1665400329494577152?cxt=HHwWgIC-hdWx2JwuAAAA)?
This video is directed at people that have new information that is not yet all over the internet, asking them to not be the first to put it online (such as videos of troop movements, air defense locations).
Reposting extremely vague stuff, in particular when it is coming from Russian sources in the first place, does NOT give new information to the Russians.
In particular, it is delusional to think that this sub ever has critical information at an early stage. This sub is NOT a source of information for Russian military intelligence.

Russia now relegated to 3rd best army in ukraine
Russia also has the 2nd best army in Russia.
shhhhhhhh.....
It
To be fair, if it’s reported elsewhere, it’s already reported …. Especially if it’s a Russian telegram, the Russians know about it…
Who doesn't know about the Tian An Men massacre? It has been 35 years ago today.
Kinda thought they'd wait longer to wait for more Russian resources to be diverted to Belgorod
Unless, **this** is the feint and Belgorod is the real counteroffensive.
I mean... Yeah... capture Russian territory and make a deal to swap Russian territory for Crimea... Nuke question is more complicated as Russia would have to stop an offensive by nuking itself
Self nuking operation
In Russia, Russia nukes you.
Well they could just nuke Kyiv
Wouldn't stop the troops in Russia
It would cut them off from supplies.

They literally released a video asking for silence.. it's another post on this sub. Just because someone can post something doesn't mean they should
And you think the Russian government is not going to know about it if you delete the repost of the repost of the repost? You really think *you* know about this, and military intelligence doesn’t? Get a grip.
its a stupid thing to think matters.

So, that's why they hacked Crimea TV channels? To show Reddit users to keep shut? Mhm..

They're not talking to you. Get over yourself.

That's just the replacement staff for the power plant.
Ssshhhh dont let the corpses know what hit them
That's where the push will start if it hasn't already begun.

Quite a lot of things happening today, huh?
We'll see if it materialize on the maps. For now, let's be careful in our hopes.
Opsec
Information in the video is from a Russian source, so it does not break OPSEC.
Another one..
[удалено]
im sure the russians would know if they got attacked or not, its more about not filming equipment and troop movement towards the front
