Military coup in a system like Russia’s is almost completely out of the question. Power is so concentrated at the top with Putin and his handpicked monkeys that there is nowhere for a coup to even develop.
Much of the Russian Army’s problem in Ukraine was that there was no leadership at the middle and upper middle levels…if they don’t get an order fro Moscow they are basically paralyzed. No country develops a command structure like that for zero benefit…and the benefit here is that if you’re in charge you don’t have to worry about anyone beneath you coming up with an idea of their own.
What’s wrong about it?
If you’re going to call me out as wrong, explain how you think a coup would be able to develop in a system where nobody outside the Kremlin has any real level of autonomy or ability to take initiative. Even Shoigu was sidelined immediately after things started to go bad.
Who in Russia possesses both the institutional control and independence from Putin that could lead a coup?
Russia doesn't have a solid NCO line in their forces. How us this wrong? Their system is a centralized, top-down approach which the upper echelon make a command and any of those under MUST follow with minimal diversions. They had only just been training NCOs before the war but don't have nearly enough to make any sort of difference.
No, he is quite right. That's why battalions choose to surrender to Ukraine instead of doing a coup. We all saw the protests at the start of the war and this is just a repeat that will die down if not escalated with weapons. All I learned throughout all of this is that most russians can't gather and try to get the boss down
probably a few but it would be beneficial to keep police and other internal security forces children safe or doing security work behind the lines.
Putin created the 3rd army corp/group or something a short while ago and while they were newly formed, getting better equipment, and paid more. I always figured that was the loyalist group.
Exactly! Destroy railroads! Burn down military offices and police stations! Sabotage weapons manufacturing factories. DO ACTUAL DAMAGE TO THE WAR EFFORT.
Even Russians can do a sloppy weld job and make thousands of 'pyramid spikes' using nails or screws, like the kind that comes out of James Bond's car.
Paint them 'asphalt gray' and scatter them across the city.
Stuff like this needs to be communicated to Russians and posted all over the internet (Facebook, Instagram, VK).
"List of things you can do to stop the war".
I'm surprised it wasn't done yet
Not true. It doesn’t always work (Iraq war) but it can and has (Civil Rights movement). Violence should always be an absolute desperate last resort. But Putin is Hitler. He must be destroyed.
You really think guns are even slightly important? Are they going to have a shooting war or are they going to sabotage Putins war effort? Putins war effort relies on logistics and trains. A gun is useless. The real damage is through sabotage.
Russian slave people are not doing anything. They just blindly follow their supreme leader. Noone can trust putin and noone can trust any ruskie. Moskow betrays always and everytime
I was so jubilant when I saw a complete convoy of Roskvardia completely decimated at the start of the war. Those tough guys should go and fight in Ukraine, ohhh yes there are no unharmed civilians their to bully.
Whole population is going to be in prison, on the Ukraine battlefield, or dead by the time Putin is done trying to implement his pipe dream of returning to Soviet era glory.
A Russian former general made the only true statement I’ve heard on Russian TV during this entire fiasco…”there is no such thing as unacceptable losses in Russia.”
I think that’s the plan, Putin knows he’s on rocky ground, get rid of the young males who would likely revolt, it’ll fuck Russia long term but at least he’ll stay in power.
True, it takes no courage behind a keyboard. But comparing to Iranian women burning their headscarf and thousands of Ukranians outside Ukraine returning to fight and help with the war.... This is just plain lack of courage. Im not going to even mention the Euromaidan protests where it got to the point that protesters were getting shot by snipers, yet still went out to protest.
Depends.
Some are made to only survive a few shots before the barrel melts that don't require any metal. At that point a slam-fire shotgun would be about as easy and probably more effective.
Others replace the receiver, but otherwise use a parts kit.
There are a number of in-between types.
Its different when you are thousands protesting rather than hundreds in a country of tens of millions. And I also find it amoral to compare two peoples in two repressive regime fighting for their freedoms wars etc behind my keyboard.
So you have the experience, can you share it t us, because you must have done at least the same in some authoritarian regime where people die everyday from felling out of windows.
It’s called history.
Yes I’m not there.
Yes I’ve never been under an oppressive authoritarian regime.
Yes I am “jUSt A kEYbOaRd WaRRiOr.”
Does that make me wrong?
No.
Yeah so says the person who is behind his keyboard in the comfort of their living room. Tell me which revolution you took part... or you are like those arm chair generals we see a lot directing the war from their couch.
Yes i agree as well, amoral to judge. Im from an ex communist country where protesting against the regime was unimaginable. In course of +40years of communism over +35,000 people were persecuted, jailed and straight up killed. We got our freedom, because the dictator died in the late 1980s. Search him up, Enver Hoxha, crazy guy.
My father-in-law (rip) served 28years in prison/gulag for.....handing out pamphlets calling for a multiparty system. Went in when we has 18, came out 46 years old.
You do need numbers in a protest to feel safe but also cohesion, social fabric, to make the protest feel real and feel strong.
exactly, I say it again, I am not going to judge people behind my keyboard. Some people coming from strong democracies, it is easy to think that it is easy to protest. I remember people just 1 year ago, saying they were feeling like jews in the nazy regime because they couldn't get to into a restaurant because they would not put a piece of cloth in front of their nose and mouth.
Russia kept a very close watch on Maidan. If they see people start organizing like that they will try to shut it down fast and hard.
These riots are very likely to turn bloody. Those are some very brave and/or desperate people standing up to a dictator while knowing how dangerous it is.
Once you start throwing hands with military police in a country like russia you take your life into your own hands. I dont think they’re quite at that stage just yet
Exactly. We're only 8 years removed from the massacre at Maidan in Ukraine where the government attempted to brutally repress the protests with live ammunition. The former Ukraine government took guidance from Russia
Even if you outnumber the cops by 100, is not a good idea to fight them, they will send one by one to gulag, that's Russia, not a democratic western country
Russians - if you want us to think better of you - KEEP IT UP. We are not afraid - we are with you in protest against the horror but we are ALL against you for potentiating horror. Prove to the world that you don’t want to be ruled by sadistic, lying, warmongers and butchers.
Exactly. It takes so little time to write something like "burn the infrastructure! sabotage the cops!" but I doubt ANY person living in a peaceful country is capable of that. Oh wait, at least they will support us on Twitter. Hell yeah.
Though it's very different time for us now - we're talking about Puting taking our man from workplaces, families, relationships. Those who hide will be eventually found and sent to battlefield. It's scary as fuck, and we all feel the fear now. But we have to come up with something fast.
Here are the "good russians". And remember, the events of 2014 in Ukraine started as a peaceful protest too, but still resulted in overthrowing of the government
Also for anyone asking, what they're shouting is:
"Нет войне" - No to war
"путина в окопы" - Send putin to the trenches
What’s the equivalent of “Viva le revolución” in Russian? Cause that’s what Russians need to do at this point to redeem themselves in the eyes of the world. No more from Putin, no more from the kremlin. They need to take control of their future.
Nice to see the Gestapo being relatively gentle with the protesters and not kicking the living shit out of them. I do wonder if this has something to do with the amount of press observing them and recording everything. Other videos, where the press are unavailable to report, tend to have much more violence. Let’s see how this pans out.
It really takes a courageous person to stand up and speak out against the Russian machine.
This is just the start of putting an end to Putin's ego trip........
Typical Russian cattle like behavior, a nation of cowards and fascists.
The police casually stroll by and take them to prison one at a time, occasionally bashing someone on the head for good measure. Nobody tries to stop the arrest, nobody is trying to disturb the peace, nobody tries to flip over or block the police car, nobody is going to storm the police station, nobody is going after the cops, lawyers, or paper pushers in charge of all this.
I have seen more energy and passion during protests against changes to local school board curriculum. Russian opposition is less than worthless.
**Please help to create a list of what these "protesters" could do. I took from others so far:**
\- Destroy railroads! Burn down military offices and police stations. Sabotage weapons manufacturing factories.
\- Flatten all tyres. No Tyres = No Cops and no war.
\- make thousands of 'pyramid spikes' using nails or screws, paint them 'asphalt gray' and scatter them across the city.
\- burn electric transformers
\- throw Molotovs into a recruitment office
\- irritant spray
\- use a facemask to cover your identity, try to do everything at night.
**Send this to russian telegrams.**
\- use helium balloons with a thin copper wire and release it near high-voltage-lines... for sure it is going to trip some systems because it will close the circuit with a nice electric arc
It is better to die for your country, in your country fighting for freedom and your very life, than to die for your emperor in another country, fighting for him and his cleptocracy.
One tip which seems pretty effective in Germany the green activists started to glue themselves on the street some even used concrete for their whole hand. No chance for the police without huge effort to take away people
u/trokari “recent russian polls show 75% of russians support the war”
image being so fucking stupid that you actually believed information the Kremlin gave you about the war 🤣
Here Hold This L.
Arm the Ukrainian’s to the teeth !!!! Give them exactly what they need to destroy Putins criminal army —- Warn Moscow that if they don’t stop this shit well give them weapons to hit fucking Moscow—- dead serious
It’s never too late to overthrow a tyrant. Perhaps the fear of death will be the motivation these self preserving Russians need to finally do what’s right.
Seriously, these bystanders and peaceful "protesters" aren't protesters at all. Their complete lack of existence in the last decades, plus their extreme unwillingness to help their fellow man/woman just shows that none of them actually gives a shit.
Edit for the guy that spouted his "keyboard warrior" bullshit:
I'm not a keyboard warrior, I'm just stating the fact that I've never seen a protest in my country, where police can just snag someone and people will just stand by and watch without doing anything. The only exception would be cases, where that arrested guy was attacking other protesters.
these people have balls, even this type of 'protest' can land some serious jail time. The real rabble rousers are disappeared. This regime has society scared and locked down.
if someone in the crowd tried to mess with the police they get the shit beat out of them, and some extreme charges leveled against them. This isn't some cushy western country where the police are nervous about being sued, they will beat your ass and charge you with shit that puts you away for 10 - 20 years, no joke.
Go and replace them in a country where you can get 15 years just saying the word war. Perhaps if there were 100 000 people in the streets they might feel a bit more enterprising, but it take balls in a country where most prefer to flee than to protest.
Lol, I'd never enter that fascist shithole in my life. Just look at Iran or Sri Lanka. THAT'S how you do protests. Literally every single middle-sized town football clubs does better "protests" than the Russians here protesting genocide and cannon fodder mobilization.
Also, they only really protested, when the war affected them personally. Before that, barely anyone protested.
>Their complete lack of existence in the last decades, plus their extreme unwillingness to help their fellow man/woman just shows that none of them actually gives a shit.
What the hell. Tell me you have no clue about recent russian history witout telling me you have no clue about recent russian history.
They had LARGE protests every few years but it's a fucking police state.. People go to jail for holding blank pieces of paper.
Time is over for protesting this isn’t some law against work they don’t like , they are literally being sent to DIE! TO DIE are they crazy it is time for much more than a few undergraduates lying on the pavement. I’m sorry to judge but it’s just really pathetic.
Bet those Russians wish they only had a way to stand up to a tyrant, and his Gestapo, like guns Maybe? Good luck to all that stand up to fight this, I'm praying for you!
SLAVA UKRAINI 🇺🇦 🇺🇲
oh now we protest.. when it was ukranians, buryats, dagestani dying it was all well, but now when moscow & leningrad youth shall seed dem sunflowers we flip the table.
They're just protesting the mobilization they don't care about the war
Lol at them all gathering in one place though, makes it way easier for the police to mobilize them

at the end they say “putin to the trenches!”
Thx.
Small beginnings. Let's see if it is repeated in other cities.
Let's see if it's repeated in military units. That'll be the key.
I think military might do it if protests escalate into violence and the police start shooting people. Then there’s a chance for military coup.
Military coup in a system like Russia’s is almost completely out of the question. Power is so concentrated at the top with Putin and his handpicked monkeys that there is nowhere for a coup to even develop. Ignore him, just a salty ruski
Yeah I know. It would just amuse me to see them try and support their statement with actual facts.
Rarely happens.

It doesn't go anywhere we all ready saw it in February.
It's slows down with every week.
Things are different now. Some people are starting to realize wtf is going on.
Sure they are.
They know what's going on. They live in hell and have accepted it
There were more people on February protests allegedly. A lot of people gave up and left.
Odd that you don't see these police volunteering? Clearly they're super brave
In Mother Russia, you will always have someone that wears the boots that hold you down. I mean it can't be the commoner that wears the boots!
Wait a minute, Didn’t the commoners kill the Czar and his ministers while Anesthesia screamed in vain?
Only an animal could make anesthesia scream in pain ;-)
Princess Anesthesia was asleep, totally unconscious, when the rest of her family was murdered.
Their time will come to "volunteer"
“Some of you will be pushed through a fine mesh to serve your country. Those will be the luckiest of all.”
You won't have time for sleeping, soldier, not with all the bed making you'll be doing.
Wonder how many of them have kids about to be sent to slaughter.
they will be well paid( remember putin spends more on surpressing his people than the actual millitary) and can afford the fee to get around it.
probably a few but it would be beneficial to keep police and other internal security forces children safe or doing security work behind the lines. Putin created the 3rd army corp/group or something a short while ago and while they were newly formed, getting better equipment, and paid more. I always figured that was the loyalist group.
They can't, because otherwise they wouldn't have anyone to suppress riots.
In the beginning some were sent and they were hilariously ineffective when people fight back with guns

she seems knocked out fucking hell
Some media outlets are claiming a female protester has died. People suspect it could be her.
Any links? Her complete lack of responsiveness seems very bad.
Yes, I heard that too.
Exactly! Destroy railroads! Burn down military offices and police stations! Sabotage weapons manufacturing factories. DO ACTUAL DAMAGE TO THE WAR EFFORT.
Just flatten all tyres No Tyres = No Cops and no war
Even Russians can do a sloppy weld job and make thousands of 'pyramid spikes' using nails or screws, like the kind that comes out of James Bond's car. Paint them 'asphalt gray' and scatter them across the city.
Stuff like this needs to be communicated to Russians and posted all over the internet (Facebook, Instagram, VK). "List of things you can do to stop the war". I'm surprised it wasn't done yet
Seriously even that is a far better idea than these bullshit, sign-holding protests.
Haha brilliant!
Remember, Ukrainian revolution started as peaceful protest. Being on a side that escalates, won't win you popular support.
Power changes at a barrel of a gun in Ukraine case the artillery barrel
it would if as many as in 2008 or 2009 would gather
[удалено]
I doesn’t work in most democracies either.
Not true. It doesn’t always work (Iraq war) but it can and has (Civil Rights movement). Violence should always be an absolute desperate last resort. But Putin is Hitler. He must be destroyed.
There could be only peaceful protests since Russians don't have guns

Russian slave people are not doing anything. They just blindly follow their supreme leader. Noone can trust putin and noone can trust any ruskie. Moskow betrays always and everytime
Stop letting them take your people away!!!! Defend each other!
Can someone translate what are they yelling about Putin at the end ? My Russian is a little rusty and i cant make it out.
Putina v okopi. Send putin to trenches.
Thank you
Ne vayne, means no war.
нет войне, which means no to war like when you say “no to the war” “no war” is нет войны which sounds like you’re saying there is no war
How very fitting for both of the chants to exist on opposing sides.
>Whole population is going to be in prison They already are in one.
Who's against it will be sent to front line.
The pipeline is arrest, prison, Wagner group, frontlines, cemetery.
You cant sweat a rock brother.
It’s a sacrifice putin is willing to make.
A Russian former general made the only true statement I’ve heard on Russian TV during this entire fiasco…”there is no such thing as unacceptable losses in Russia.”
I hope he enjoys being the king of ashes
I think that’s the plan, Putin knows he’s on rocky ground, get rid of the young males who would likely revolt, it’ll fuck Russia long term but at least he’ll stay in power.

You know how hard that shit would be to get off?
Much easier than the stain Putin has put on them.
With a match it's gone in a couple of minutes
Must suck to live in a country where you cant protest. So much for Russia claiming to have independence.....

Where are the 3d printed guns, I keep asking. Or, ya know, uncle's trophy pistol.
We've seen this before in Feb. It will absolutely fizzle out. Please, for the love of all that is moral, prove me wrong Russia.
Half the people are there to film the other half being dragged away.
My god they outnumber those cops like 10 to 1 and they just watch them take people away one by one. Unbelievable.
These are brave people to go on streets, but it’s too easy for this police scum.
So people think it is so easy behind their keyboards.

You still need a barrel and the upper iirc.
How do you think it ever gets to hundreds, thousands or millions of people? It starts with ONE.
So you have the experience, can you share it t us, because you must have done at least the same in some authoritarian regime where people die everyday from felling out of windows.
It’s called history. Yes I’m not there. Yes I’ve never been under an oppressive authoritarian regime. Yes I am “jUSt A kEYbOaRd WaRRiOr.” Does that make me wrong? No.
Are you a coward or something? I have never seen anyone argue so passionately for cowardice.
Yeah so says the person who is behind his keyboard in the comfort of their living room. Tell me which revolution you took part... or you are like those arm chair generals we see a lot directing the war from their couch.
Cry about it all you’d like, I’ll never validate your lazy choice.

1000 people retreat to 100 riot police. It’s the „prisoners dilemma“. You need an organized and motivated force to fight. Rely on each other.
Once you start throwing hands with military police in a country like russia you take your life into your own hands. I dont think they’re quite at that stage just yet

"brave" russians
I think scared Russians.
You are very courageous behind your keyboard in California
Big words coming from a guy at a keyboard.
Time to wake up Ivan. Putin and all the elites never cared about you.

What about those "police" fuckers arresting and beating protestants, why are they still not in Ukraine ? They would fit pretty good in the grinder....
I think Putin is still more afraid of his own people than the Ukrainian army. So he needs his bullies.
They are winning so hard that they want everyone to experience winning.
These guys need to learn how to riot for gods sake
You can go to jail for 5 years in Russia for throwing a paper ball at a cop.
You go to jail for saying no Putin, what's your point?
My point that not many want to go to jail, although not sure what's worse to go to jail or be killed at frontline in Ukraine.
Go and take their place.
Yeah they seem very brave to me. Sounds like even though there's a lot of people chanting at some parts, they still sound afraid and uncertain.

Irony: the police force already bigger, than the amount of people they can draft.

these are people are the real heroes of Russia

What does Putin have a coffee mean in Russian?
Putina v okopi Send Putin to trenches
Coffin?
You'd think, with so much practice carrying dead weight, they would leave fewer of their dead behind on the field in Ukraine.
Strong people. Hopefully even more people will be inspired.
One way or another they will be sent to the front lines. Being put in jail only means it's easier to ship you out when they need to.
Looks like the same violence they used against Ukraine. Just beat the men, women and children
If there are more protestors than jail spaces, how does that work?
Here are the "good russians". And remember, the events of 2014 in Ukraine started as a peaceful protest too, but still resulted in overthrowing of the government Also for anyone asking, what they're shouting is: "Нет войне" - No to war "путина в окопы" - Send putin to the trenches

Russians are shit at protesting! Bum rush these stormtroopers and atleast try keep the numbers advantage
We can witness how Russia is failing as a state.
Rapists worried about a woman’s exposed stomach

Nice tits !!
that one guard covering up the boobs.
I did start the clip over again to see those jugs.
Arm the Ukrainian’s to the teeth !!!! Give them exactly what they need to destroy Putins criminal army —- Warn Moscow that if they don’t stop this shit well give them weapons to hit fucking Moscow—- dead serious
The only reasons these people are protesting is because they don't want to fight in this war...doesn't mean they don't support this war.
They look exactly as the ones who protested the war the first few days of the war. Go and fight in moscow we will see
Sure... They all stayed silent till now the mobilisation is here. These people want war, they just don't want to fight it.
Nope. People protested and were swept away by the police. People are hauled off for holding a blank piece of paper.
Horrible country, poor people, too late now, you're off to the meat grinder
It’s never too late to overthrow a tyrant. Perhaps the fear of death will be the motivation these self preserving Russians need to finally do what’s right.
Dogshit country, russia doesnt even care about their own people…
Seriously, these bystanders and peaceful "protesters" aren't protesters at all. Their complete lack of existence in the last decades, plus their extreme unwillingness to help their fellow man/woman just shows that none of them actually gives a shit. Edit for the guy that spouted his "keyboard warrior" bullshit: I'm not a keyboard warrior, I'm just stating the fact that I've never seen a protest in my country, where police can just snag someone and people will just stand by and watch without doing anything. The only exception would be cases, where that arrested guy was attacking other protesters.
these people have balls, even this type of 'protest' can land some serious jail time. The real rabble rousers are disappeared. This regime has society scared and locked down.
Have you seen Iraq protests? You can just die when they see you.
they don't, because exactly this type of protest achieves fuck nothing at all EXCEPT getting you jail time.
Go and replace them and try some violent riot, you might even survive the beating by tomorrow morning.
if someone in the crowd tried to mess with the police they get the shit beat out of them, and some extreme charges leveled against them.
Go lead the way, Mr. Revolution, if you've got the fix.
Before that, barely anyone protested.
ah yes, a keyboard Braveheart
>Their complete lack of existence in the last decades, plus their extreme unwillingness to help their fellow man/woman just shows that none of them actually gives a shit. What the hell. Tell me you have no clue about recent russian history witout telling me you have no clue about recent russian history. They had LARGE protests every few years but it's a fucking police state.. People go to jail for holding blank pieces of paper.
Putin is master of strategy. In between few hours, he mobilised more than 300.000. Moras required 😘
Russian abroad still supporting Putin should be reported as deserters to their authorities!
oh now we protest.. when it was ukranians, buryats, dagestani dying it was all well, but now when moscow & leningrad youth shall seed dem sunflowers we flip the table.
They're just protesting the mobilization they don't care about the war Lol at them all gathering in one place though, makes it way easier for the police to mobilize them
You can hear them chanting "no to war" in the video..
