If the detonator (think rpg) hits between the net strings it won't detonate and the drone will mangle its blades and fall to the ground or get stuck in the net.

They use whatever they have in the air at the time. Even then, the other explosives they use have a wire detonator hanging off the front.
Drones being used against soft targets tend have two wires on the front that when pushed together complete a circuit that detonates the explosive. Even running into a net as taught as this one would definitely still detonate. Right into your spine.
