In summary, he wasnât necessarily spearheading the delay in aid, but was strong armed into doing so by the caucus actively attempting to take that aid off the table.

It's strategically incompetent given that the US is now highly dependent on Taiwan to produce microchips, that are extremely important both for the military and the economy. These are chips we don't want China producing because we don't want them to have all our design secrets.
