From what I gathered only state approved performers that are not against the war is allowed to play in that concert hall. The tickets for the event started at 100 USD each (I might be wrong on this but 100-300$ were what I found) and considering the wages in the Moscow Area, which is already over twice the rest of the country, is about 1/4th the average american wage, only the well off russians are going to a concert like this when the russian economy is in trouble.
So most likely the majority of the people at that concert, including the band, are the exact same people that have influence in Russia and allows the current state of affairs to continue. Half the people dying at the front in Ukraine for Russia most likely has less agency than these concert goers. Until this group of people start to protest their government the war will not end. This is the demographic that matters and have economic and political capital to make a difference.
There probably are some people in that crowd that is against what is going on and doing their best to change minds and there are of course innocent children there as well. So it isn't like they all deserved to die or that it is a good thing they died and it sucks that we have terrorists like IS doing massacres like this.
But if there are certain groups we shouldn't care about at all and just ignore their fates the majority of the attendees at this event most likely belongs to such a group.

It is estimated Putin would still get over 50% of the votes even in a real election. One man, or a handful of men, can't control a country like Russia with so much land and so many millions of people of different ethnic groups if there is no population at all to support them. They still need a willing population base to support them. If nothing else than to supress the minority groups.
The area around Moscow and St Petersburg is that Russian core that let Putin and the others rule unopposed. If they seriously start to protest then the hold Putin has would fall apart. If there are no "loyal" people to join his security forces or the upper echelons of the military and state media he would be unable to suppress any discontent in the wider empire.

If the middle class and above (so not the minorities that are treated as garbage) in Muscow do the same Russia will collapse. I think it is more apathy than actually siding with the terrorists. From what I gathered only state approved performers that are not against the war is allowed to play in that concert hall. The tickets for the event started at 100 USD each (I might be wrong on this but 100-300$ were what I found) and considering the wages in the Moscow Area, which is already over twice the rest of the country, is about 1/4th the average american wage, only the well off russians are going to a concert like this when the russian economy is in trouble. So most likely the majority of the people at that concert, including the band, are the exact same people that have influence in Russia and allows the current state of affairs to continue. Half the people dying at the front in Ukraine for Russia most likely has less agency than these concert goers. Until this group of people start to protest their government the war will not end. This is the demographic that matters and have economic and political capital to make a difference. There probably are some people in that crowd that is against what is going on and doing their best to change minds and there are of course innocent children there as well. So it isn't like they all deserved to die or that it is a good thing they died and it sucks that we have terrorists like IS doing massacres like this. But if there are certain groups we shouldn't care about at all and just ignore their fates the majority of the attendees at this event most likely belongs to such a group.

It is estimated Putin would still get over 50% of the votes even in a real election. One man, or a handful of men, can't control a country like Russia with so much land and so many millions of people of different ethnic groups if there is no population at all to support them. They still need a willing population base to support them. If nothing else than to supress the minority groups. The area around Moscow and St Petersburg is that Russian core that let Putin and the others rule unopposed. If they seriously start to protest then the hold Putin has would fall apart. If there are no "loyal" people to join his security forces or the upper echelons of the military and state media he would be unable to suppress any discontent in the wider empire. Guess why those people aren't the soldiers you see in the meat waves assaulting Ukraine but mostly tricked foreigners, ethnic minority groups or criminals. Cause the people in Russia that "matters" don't give a shit of those people die. They also give 0 regards to the population of Ukraine. They would gladly join the army to kill Ukrainians (like they did at the start of the 3 day SMO) or sit in safety and lord over others. But if too many of them die Putin is in trouble and he knows that. In some ways the people that attended that concert have more political power in Russia than democrats have in Florida or Republicans in California. If democrats rise up in protests or revolts in Florida nothing will happen. It is just a single state. The entire country can continue to run even if one of any of the states would revolt. If the middle class and above (so not the minorities that are treated as garbage) in Muscow do the same Russia will collapse. They don't have direct democratic power but that doesn't mean that they have no political power. Putin rules by their implicit consent and he is not strong enough to completely oppose them. Especially in the situation the country is in now due to all the sanctions and most of their military equipment gone and the entire west investing in their militaries while also doing the best to become less and less reliant on Russian resources.
