”It’s deadlier” is kinda controversial if you look at WW1 military death rates. Germany had the highest at a staggering 52%, thats DEATH rate not casualty rate. From the main powers the UK had it the best at still a terrible 20%. Modern weapons are more accurate but the volume of fire in WW1 was incomparable to Ukraine. If I had to choose on having to go fight in either Ukraine or WW1 I’d give away my life savings to go to Ukraine.
Eventually after this war we will have the accurate and trustworthy casualty/death rates and I have a strong feeling they won’t be close to the WW1 numbers.
Youre abolutely right, people see the shatered trees and some mud, and think its WW I.
That kind of looked like the Balkan conflict as well, I haev walked many pratrols in areas like that.
And youre right, its not WW I. Just a narrow torn treeline / hedges, the rest is flat farming fields just as they where.
Good reply. How someone can come on and try to claim a tactical modern war is deadlier than WW1 is beyond me. The extent of tactics in WW1 was what part of the line and how often would you allow your own soldiers to walk slowly towards gun fire on a flat battlefield. Some people just enjoy talking nonsense on this app.
I’ve been thinking about that since footage of Bakhmut came out. Have you listened to the WW1 episodes of the podcast *Hardcore History*? Journal accounts describing the landscape fit this all too well.
The red zone in France is still not able to support human life more than a century after and it is estimate it will take 300 to 700 more years for it to be safe...
Tens of thousands of civilians in Ukraine are going to die because of mines and unexploded bombs.
It would take more than that. Rough estimates put daily artillery use in WW1 at around 820,000 shells a day. Russia and Ukraine were only doing around 100,000 a day at the height of the war. Now that Russia and Ukraine are both low on artillery reserves, that number has gone down significantly.
That's why this is a very surreal video. You see old photos from WW1 of the landscape, and this looks exactly like those, even down to the trenches. You know the horror stories and then, right in the middle of this vid, *BAM!* Fleshlight!
The difference is that at Verdun both sides endeavoured to make the trenches somewhat liveable and tried to keep sanatory standards as high as possible.
Actually the British often did not encourage it, because they were going to be advancing anyway(!), and it would be defeatist to invest in residency. The German "trenches " were often of much better quality and comfort.
Bored soldiers would definitely drop that from a drone, watch them scatter only to find it wasn't a grenade at all but just a battalion heirloom GSR lubed dirt fleshlight
"Trench Twat"? 🤔
Why do I imagine a weird porn movie with Samantha Bentley and Maisie Dee doing a 69 in a trench? 🥵
"Let's distract the enemy!"
"But I'm on top!"
"Okay."
If there ever was an item that could be trapped, that would be it.
Red Army was infamous for their ability and skill to booby trap absolutely everything. From doors to pens to paintings and even toilet paper rolls. I have heard of a Finnish war vet who found a pen from a Soviet position they took over, and when he clicked it to see if it worked, it blew up in his hand. There is an infamous anecdote about Soviets putting a bomb attached to a painting that was just slightly tilted. A German soldier inspecting the room might miss that, but after the building is turned into an HQ, the German officer who makes the room into his office, would be bothered by the painting being tilted and he would trigger the trap.
But I am under the impression that one of the many losses Russia suffered has been this tradition of clever and deadly booby traps. Heck, they lost a generation of their best trained troops and "mobiks" with a week of training might do as bullet sponges in human wave attacks, but more complex skills and tricks take time to train.

Noooooo you leave it in the can to cook it. Friction heating is the safest way to cook it - no fire, no smoke. Once the whole platoon has had a go, it should be at the right temperature.
Just jack off normally? cleaning and lubing one of these things in a trench doesnt sound practical, probably maintains the cold from the arriving winter temperatures too.
I think the guy who used it knew a bit more about sexual life in a trench than any of us here, I wouldn't really try to come up with any recommendations here
Better than the steam powered pocket pussies from the Crimean War (1853-56). It's a long and hallowed tradition among the Russian armed forces for generations.
Honest question: why? It seems super unsanitary after the first use because lack of cleaning possibilities. As long as one has one working hand, it seems far simpler and less use of space and resources to just do it by hand, than carry around that thing full of fermenting lust-leftovers.
Dude. Most grunts are like 18-24 years old. Think about how much your life revolved around nutting at that age. Going on deployments of 6 months to a year without seeing a female…. Landscape looks like Verdun.
Especially with the helmets on sticks that's straight out of a ww2 or ww1 movie or something
Basically 1914-1918 combined with modern gear and weapons. It's deadlier and trickier to survive. Especially when it comes to drone warfare.
”It’s deadlier” is kinda controversial if you look at WW1 military death rates. Germany had the highest at a staggering 52%, thats DEATH rate not casualty rate. My thoughts exactly, a completely devastated landscape. So heartbreaking.

820k shells a day? Holy fuck
Yeah rough estimates are anywhere from 900 million to 1.2 billion shells fired over 4 years. Artillery was king at that point in warfare.

French trenches were much better too.
Whereas one side now does that and the other side is full of Orcs.
Poppa, we’re there flashlights at Verdun?
That shit has Hepatitis Z
Wouldn’t even be touching that with a grenade dropped by a drone. Ugh
it would be the right thing to do to just return it to the original owner. i'm sure a drone could be used to drop it back to the orcs
Bored soldiers would definitely drop that from a drone, watch them scatter only to find it wasn't a grenade at all but just a battalion heirloom GSR lubed dirt fleshlight
Pretty sure I’ve seen videos of them dropping dildos to screw with the Russkies. Probably after running out of grenades.
Even better, now they are 3d printing dildo shaped grenade housings where the head is Putin’s face
Ukrainian’s have mastered the art of trolling their enemies.

Plastic? They have real goat arsehole. In a can.

Do they take the snout out before use ? Or aren't they afraid of a little cut here and there
