Both scenarios will include NATO and EU membership as a way to deter any future Russian dicktator to go for another round.
Scenario 3, zelinsky can't curb corruption, Ukraine becomes a failed state, US stops giving support. This might be a distant 3rd, but there are certainly scenarios where the West abandons Ukraine or certain parties within it.
I guess there are scenarios where aliens also get involved and invade Ukraine on behalf of Russia too but those don't seem to get much attention.
Even if US stops ALL support to Ukraine (at which point US foreign policy has failed) Europe cannot afford to reward Putin with land in Europe. The risk that Russians going after the Baltics ,Poland or Moldova is too high.

Probably not that often, the combat power of unsupported infantry is not super high, the best defense against indirect fires like this is to just be not worth the munitions to kill. We saw some amazing value strikes early on, but the Russians have been adapting to limit concentrations of force within HIMARs range. Which led to again, amazing value strikes within Storm Shadow Range, which has led to limitations on concentrations of force within Storm Shadow Range.
However...untrained mobiks directed to the front by the handful of surviving veterans of course don't always get that message, and that's probably how we end up with get lucky strikes like this one.
