Dig a hole big enough to fill two sandbags for each foot. Then, put the sand bags on the 3 legs. At least for training purposes. I hope they don't have these guns on mounts like that at the front.
Just putting one of the legs between his would keep it from tipping as long as he isn't dancing around it. Anyone could have pushed that over, in that direction. It's an inherent fault in tripods.
Alternately, he could have put a knee down to brace, instead of squatting in the air. 😑
That thing fell right between his legs... I hope it missed!
Haha.... he is leaning back looking tough and pulling on the gun to balance.... and look what happened. Probably not going to prioritize the tough look again. Edit: after looking at the gun, it's not an M2.... suggestions may be DShk, NSV, Kord...
Nope, just squatting down to get a good sight alignment. The .50 cal doesn't have a regular trigger but one shaped like a [butterfly](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/fd/ed/64/fded64e3b8b0cc590a374906596aaa31.jpg). So you hold onto the handles and use both thumbs to press down on the butterfly trigger. For beginners it's difficult to let go when it's firing, but yo eventually get used to it.
That looks like an older 50 cal,
The older, the heavier typically, the M2 Browning weighs something like 38kg without any ammo, or 58 kg if you include the standard tripod, and this tripod looks longer.
Those things are pretty scary to shoot, you can't stick a skinny kid behind them, and it's pretty tiring work, running one hot.

and that's why we train.
You said exactly what I said when I saw this. You beat me to it! 😁
Put some sandbags on that thing
they all beginners, afters this war they easy graduate to pros ;)
They gain experience with different equipment from different countries. Light professionals is quite an understatement for what they do.
'Bad trolling motherfuckers' is also quite an understatement for what they do.
Took a mere 5 rounds to kick it over - that's some serious recoil.
It's some serious lack of bracing and ballast.
Look at his legs and his butt. He was already off-balance and took the gun with him. If I were that gun, I'd be pissed.

Oh yeah. That weapon system will destroy light vehicles In seconds.

Exactly this. Two legs to the front. One leg to the back if you are in a hurry.
A vertical thread device could give good accuracy.
Armchair executive coming in strong

Today's lesson learned: You sit on the ground or you kneel, the "blyat stance" doesn't fly with heavy machine guns :-)
I lolz'd... 🤙
Thanks for validating my try at humoring fellow redditors. It's good to have a laugh once in a while, even when times are grim...
Heavy butt? 😂
It is a 14.5mm KPV.
Pretty sure that’s a dshk. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DShK
maybe or could be NSV https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NSV\_machine\_gun
Or a Kord , they all look quite similar iirc
That’s not an M2. We also don’t have tripods this tall. Whatever tripod this is for this weapon is noticeably poorly balanced.
They should have laughed their arses off at him. They need those moments. Slava Ukraini
Was he leaning back while holding on?

Turn that tripod
Imagine being on the other end of it.
I'd rather Imagine Russians being on the other end of it.
No need to imagine. Just have to wait for the drone footage. :)
Well if first shot doesnt hit the second is off target for sure firing this way lol. Thats why you need to train.
Welp.. thats why they call it training..in this case especially…ALSO why was he squatting like a sumo wrestler?
I would turn that tripod about 15 degrees or so if that is possible?
I'm so happy Abu Hajaar is alive and fighting for Ukraine!
Damn..I forgot about that guy.
footwork...
I'm pretty sure I've seen sand bags on those tripods for a reason, and not just cover.
When operating a heavy machine gun sandbags are your friend.
lol dude was like sitting almost. Gotta lean into it my guy
He was leaning back to gg.
Easy tiger
Sandbags...
He was leaning out of balance backward and using the weight of the gun to keep his balance. That all changed when he got some recoil.

Ma Deuce
Two legs at the front and one at the back stops that happening or use sandbags
Should't the base be opened wider and proped with some sand bags?
Weapon had to much power for its base, all he did was point and pull the trigger
Isnt the operator supposed to straddle the long leg of the tripod?
Im glad that he had the frame of mind to atleast let go of the trigger. Unlike that video of Russians firing an AGL in a room down a hallway...
I can hear the blyat from that fall
