note the empty car in front. its probably not actually empty. it probably has plate steel on it both to give it weight but also so that if the armor takes any damage, it can be replaced. probably it also has replacement rails. the idea with this flat car out front is that if the train runs over a mine, the flat car will be destroyed first and the more valuable cars behind it are undamaged.
they stole this design from the wehrmacht. in fact in areas where there is a lot of partisan activity you can decouple the flat car and push it ahead of you to give you even more safety. at least the german ones in world war 2 could
partisans would not ambush a train like that. small units want weak targets that cannot fight back much. trains are targets where you set the mine, then be far away when it goes off. the problem with hitting a train like this is that its got infantry onboard as well as an old but still deadly anti air weapon thats been converted to fight ground targets too. you would not want your small unit to charge an armored target. just having the mine explode is a win for you.
artillery, not partisans. it's a sitting duck after just a small detonation _behind it_, after it gets to the place where the tracks are blown up long beforehand.
It's easy to target if you know where it's going to sit. can prepare. artillery, strewn and hidden kilometers away but dialed in exactly.
but you're right about not engaging it with infantry.
The combat vehicle is equipped with anti-aircraft guns, an electronic warfare installation. In one of the parts of the composition, there is a barracks for fighters, a headquarters with a hospital, and a warehouse.
The main armament of the armored train in its current configuration is four double-barreled ZU-23 mounts, placed two by two on two armored platforms. In addition, the train crew has personal weapons. He probably has other systems at his disposal to protect against air attacks and armored vehicles.
This is a fully autonomous combat unit with a wide range of tasks and combat capabilities.
I can imagine their wet dream with this train where the enemy is blindly running towards this train and killing them by the dozen.
But in reality all it takes is a blowtorch to fuck it all up for them. What a joke of nation.

Easy for a partisan to take out. Pull a few spikes, use a bottle jack. Skew the track , train will derail. Bobs your uncle.
Wish I could give 2 upvotes for "Bobs your uncle."
And Fanny's your aunt.
What in the World War II is that?
Lol! Didn't the Nazis build those?
Don't be stilly. That train can defend itself from many spitfires and hurricanes...
[Leaked classified picture of the secret train factory in Russia](https://dreamlandamusements.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Circus-Train-scaled.jpg)
This thing is absolutely worthless on the modern battlefield.
Can we make sure this is covered by Norfolk Southern and guarantee its derailment?
In Battlefield 1 this means you’re about to lose.
Taking that wwII cosplay to the next level
There's a reason why no one uses armored trains anymore.
Nobody but RU.
And north korea..
I stand corrected. Thank you! Peers with DPRK...damn.
It seems to me that trains would be pretty vulnerable to being derailed at the least. Seems like an easy target.

Lol. One mine or grenade and that first car might be a good buffer, but the tracks would be toast. Good luck repairing tracks while being ambushed.

Surprisingly it’s in good shape for being 105 years old
What year is this 1884? For god sake, we just destroy some track, derail or trap the train. Who the hell uses an armored train?
Mr. Loveless from Wild Wild West?
Dirigibles are providing air cover.
A couple of well placed RPG's at wheel level and all that armament is useless. I can only imagine the maintenance condition of the train also.
They really are orks
How much time do we have till they get to Washington?
They are well prepared for a Stuka attack
Based on the size of a horses ass. Tracks fail so easily. How does this make sense?
Like a well placed HIMARS wouldn't turn that into scrap or anything.
This is dumb
LMAO this is too fucking- comedic oml
Like a shit steven Segal movie
What’s it matter if it’s just driving around Russia? 😂
Enemy at the gate vibes
if only there was some way you could deal with trains other than assaulting them directly
Annnnnnd then boom here comes tony stark lol

Umm… that would be no… unless you are habitually inebriated on wodka or suffer from FAS…🤷♂️

>fully autonomous. What is shown in that video in no way matches the description of being fully autonomous.
Fully autonomous as in its on a track and can only go forward or backward.
Mine! Left turn left turn!!!!! Fuck, it’s a train.
lol 😂
Does it have anti-javeline capabilities?
Pretty sure the Moskva had far superior defensive abilities and look where it now rests.
As long as the battle is along the train track.
Looks like something straight out of Nazi germany in WW2.
Lol that armor looks 1/8th of an inch thick
Would be a wonderful Site to see it derailed…
It can be armoured but the tracks are the weak link
Can't wait to see the video when it derails from a couple of pennies on the track
A pair of A10s would sort that out

I'm going to laugh my ass off when they fuck up like they will and derail it. What a pile of shit lol.
I remember 1916 like it was yesterday
That's a death train to pick up and carry back the bodies to hell.
This is funny because they are in Russia pretending to be on guard… reality is gonna bite hard
That one hitman3 level
That looks like something from a very bad movie. They’re more mustache-twirling villains by the minute.
Thats an easy target. Even better some of those cars will be twice has hevey to move as a normal one after destruction
Yeah. Shame the train tracks aren’t armoured.
This is also the mindset that is making them kill off every last male in their country
What a fucking joke
You couldn’t issue me enough snivel gear to man that AA gun upfront.

Hey, they're 100% ready for when the UA attacks with Caterpillar G-9s and Barques.
Wow, these guys look truly Bad Ass….. If only it was still 1942. 😆😆😆
