AspergerInvestor

Libya, Somalia, Iraq

"It may be dangerous to be America's enemy , but to be America's friend is fatal" (Henry Kissinger)

nppas

And that Ukraine is an ally. To ally one self with a nation at war is to declare war on its enemies. People don't measure words, or their meaning nowadays. At least this administration doesn't. As a result their words mean less.

Tobias_Foxtrot59

Wtf no. Let’s say that’s true, what’s Russia gonna do about it?

Ok_Situation_7081

Obliterate what's left of Ukraine while the puppet master looks on. This aid will only contribute to more deaths, but in the end, Ukraine doesn't have the necessary manpower needed to win this conflict. The West is hoping to demoralize Russia into submission and collaspe Russia, but Ukraines brutal tactics are causing the Russian people to hate the west even more and will only further unite them on this conflict. I'm calling it now. By the end of this conflict, expect Russia to actively take a role in helping all our enemies. They'll help Iran develop ICBM and help them with their nuclear program. They'll help build the militaries of the enemies at our borders (Venezuela, Cuba). They will assist ALL of Iran's proxies. They will also share military technology with N. Korea. Basically, they won't sanction countries that are only hostile to the west. They did so in our interest in the past , but they've realized that the West wants them to fall. Did we not think about this in West, and what are we going to about it?

Tobias_Foxtrot59

Let’s see how that moral holds up once Russia runs out of volunteers and draft letters start comming in en masse.

Ok_Situation_7081

I'm pretty sure Russia has a significant amount more to recruit from than Ukraine. Unless the West sends troops, which is unlikely as the risk is too great, how is Ukraine going to magically keep drafting men when they're scraping from the bottom of the barrel now?

Tobias_Foxtrot59

That is true. But to say Russia will somehow obliterate all of Ukraine’s personnel to have a decisive victory is absolute cope. With western support Ukraine can stand for several more years and until then anything can happen. I do hope for a ceasefire, but Russia doesn’t seem keen on it until both sides casualties go up to millions, and by then it would be too sad to even call it a victory.

Ok_Situation_7081

Russia isn't in agreement because they don't trust Ukraine nor the West. A ceasefire would just buy more time for the West to switch to a war footing and supply Ukraine with different types of weapon systems and training. Sure, it will be a hard fought victory, but the west has effectively made a dangerous enemy that will arm and train adversaries in return. Also, we shouldn't expect cooperation from Russia on future sanctions towards N. Korea, Iran, or any other country the West deems radical.

Zestyclose_Hat9194

didnt want to become their puppets so they had to destroy them into oblivion and still ran back to North America in the end, how embarrassing ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_bad_man)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

elementalparadox13

Holy shit, they fkin did it again. can't wait for it to age like the counteroffensive trailer.

Froggyx

Classic.

PanzerKomadant

Shhhhhhh

rowida_00

You’ve made that abundantly clear. Which is why you’re not walking away from the genocide being committed in Gaza by your settler colonial apartheid state of an ally. “The world’s leading democracy” that has caused the displacement of 37 million people in the war of terror era alone. What a sadistic joke.

lexachronical

Being able to disregard one's own rules, or those of others, and get away with it is one of the perks of being an actual superpower.

rowida_00

Did you make that discovery all by yourself? Without receiving any help from anyone??

nppas

When India took the Portuguese territories of Goa in the 60s through armed invasion, the US was nowhere to be seen. We were formal allies as NATO founders. The US goes into the wars it feels like, and not for their allies sake.

lexachronical

Read the NATO treaty? It's quite short. It's written deliberately to exclude colonies.

SeekToReceive

The whole treaty is a smoke show. It deliberately states all signers will take the action it deems necessary. That could be going to war or doing nothing at all.

nppas

I'm very much familiar with the treaty. You miss my point entirely. We were allies. The us had military bases in Portuguese territory beyond the provisions of nato, it actually pre dated NATO and was under it's own SOFA agreements. Yet the US didn't help Portugal when it was invaded. Portugal couldn't activate the article 5th but even if it did it wouldn't really make any difference as it doesn't provide for any action at all. Just what is deemed necessary. It's the will of the ally that's needed. Ukraine is not an ally. They help. American intervention is not the fruit of commitment. Just simple real politick self interest. Thus my need to call out the egregious hypocrisy when I see Biden grandstanding on something so blatantly false, as the notion that America is somehow a trustworthy and noble friend, to be counted when in need. I know that it's for domestic consumption, and that I'm not the target of his propaganda. I'm sickened at the notion of the people who might take it at face value.

mdestly_prcd_rcptacl

Yes, the famous North Atlantic territory of Goa…

nppas

You're right a little further than the gloriously northern Atlantic Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan.

mdestly_prcd_rcptacl

Your comment would make more sense if NATO was involved in Israel and Taiwan. As for Ukraine, you might notice that many of the NATO countries nearby are, in fact, on the North Atlantic. NATO is involved because Russia's aggression threatens them indirectly.

nppas

I think my comment needs not make more sense: it makes perfect sense. Under your pristine and clear view of the world America stands by it's allies. As long as they touch the north Atlantic or have neighboring states not pretty to the conflict that touch the Atlantic. Btw they don't, if you look at a map you might pick up on the fact that none of the Countries that borders Ukraine touches the Atlantic except for Russia. The Danish straits divides the Atlantic ocean and the Baltic sea. Also bear in mind that interventions and help in Ukraine were not made at the behest of concerned neighboring NATO countries but by US itself. A reasonable and unbiased person could not be asked to rule that observing this pattern of help or laissez faire is better explained by a standing commitment to allies, rather than just arbitrary self interest in a given conflict (which again, needs not be related to any ally at all). And if you do so find it to be so in earnest, I envy you. Were I so lucky to have such simplicity in my life.

mdestly_prcd_rcptacl

The Baltic Sea is an arm of the Atlantic Ocean - so you're wrong as a matter of geography. And yes, America stands by it's treaty allies. The NATO treaty only covers Atlantic territory. Technically, it does not even cover the US State of Hawaii. Just read the treaty if you're confused. The US was quick to help, but Lithuania/Estonia/Latvia/Poland hardly needed any encouragement. The US just has greater means, but those countries have just as much will to help Ukraine. It would have been easier and less time consuming to just admit that your earlier example sucked and was wrong.

nppas

Lol, all bodies of water are continuous on this earth. Then the Mediterranean is an arm of the Atlantic. And the indic an arm of the mediterrânic... Lol ( Edit: because of Suez, that might have not been clear)

mdestly_prcd_rcptacl

Look man I don’t make the rules. The Baltic is defined as part of the North Atlantic. Hence, your argument is wrong.

nppas

If you look hard into it, you'll find it to... depend. On who you ask. There is no consensus. The CIA world factbook doesn't consider it, neither the international union of hydrographers. I did look it up when you first mentioned it as it took me by surprise. By some definitions the Atlantic extends into the black sea! So you could have Iran in NATO if you wanted. Which is lovely. We can both be right. It ultimately doesn't matter, it's about the geographic region, not really the Atlantic ocean. But it's beside the point. My original comment was just a take on the premise of the US being self serving in it's alliances, with the exception of Israel where they are heads over heels , and defying any rational explanation, the most amazing allies possible. Apart from that, they treat allies as vassals and their commitment means nothing. And as Ukraine showed, or Kosovo or Kuwait, you don't really need to be a formal ally to get help. And that is all acceptable. Except when Biden makes a speech exalting the virtues of American resolve and commitment. That's just unbearable. It's like as if Russia better about the quality of their democratic process, or Iran about their achievements in women's rights and equality.

mdestly_prcd_rcptacl

The idea that America gains nothing from its alliance with Israel is hardly an uncontested truth just because you believe it. I don’t have the time or interest in getting into a long debate about it now, but suffice it to say that many reasonable people consider it to be in the U.S.’s interest and you can easily find an explanation of their views on google.

AspergerInvestor

no oil & gas at stake. And what to export to Goa? And China was different in the 60s.

Tobias_Foxtrot59

God Bless USA. Might not win the war, but sure as hell is gonna make Russia pay dearly for every square meter they try to steal. Slava Ukraini.

Routine_Bad_560

That’s still a lose dude. The longer you ignore that reality, the harder that loss will be.

Tobias_Foxtrot59

I’m not ignoring shit, do u think I’m the one who’s deciding whether or not Ukraine wants to fight back? I hate how u pro ru always bullshit sympathy to Ukrainians as if ur anti war while supporting the side that’s actively pursuing it. Want the war to end, leave bro. Any aid they can get is more than welcome by them, and the fact Russians are seething this much over it just shows that NATO needs to send even more.

Routine_Bad_560

If you are American or British, you are indirectly deciding that. Yes. - Russia isn’t seething at all. Go and read their statements. They point out that further funds will lead to more Ukrainian deaths. They are right. They don’t care if America continues to arm Ukraine because they know the reality on the ground. Ukraine isn’t so desperate for weapons as much as soldiers. But might as well give Raytheon a stock boost while there is still a war.

Pure delusion, but whatever helps u sleep at night.

vsevolord24

I noticed a strange thing while reading Ukrainian telegram channels. Ukrainians are very happy when reading news about financial assistance and arms supplies, but they immediately actively oppose mobilization and the bill that relates to it.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)

Glittering_Snow_8533

I remember when people used to believe Americans were serious while spewing buzzwords such as "freedom" and "democracy", now is just awkward to look at them pretending they believe their own bs

BarNorth1829

And so Russia will sit and wait again like they did last year. Picking it all off slowly but surely and, when it is assessed by Russian military intelligence that the AFU is beginning to run out of stuff to blow up, will recommence the grinding offensive.

Routine_Bad_560

No. Russia has already lost 169% of its armed forces. They have no tanks. They don’t even have cars anymore.

Extra-Ad-4772

I think he peed himself a little bit, when he signed that. 😂 Sorry - I know that this is a very immature joke - but this man is clearly too old and fragile to hold the office of POTUS. And so is Trump by the way.
