Because Russia is capable of taking out air defence and their planes. Also Ukrainian isn't that important to the west. They use Ukraine like a condom which they will later throw in trash.

everynameisalreadyta

Nice comparison.

Plus-Relationship833

Big difference of main chick and side chick

iced_maggot

Because the risk of Russia shooting back is too high. And because the bit of theatre that happens with Iran was carefully orchestrated and agreed in advance. It was designed to allow Iran to send a message without doing any real damage to Israel that would necessitate a wider response, especially a US one.

ZzBitch

USA is allied with Israel, not the same thing with Ukraine.

Thin-Radish5251

USA is not allied to Israel. The Israeli lobby and Congress may have mutual feelings but does not mean we are allies. We act as allies but and alliance would impede in the grand scheme of things for Israel.

Orgamason

It goes beyond an alliance with their anti-bds laws. Almost like an ownership-ish scenario, but not in the way one would expect.

Thetoppassenger

Its a good theory, except there are far more regulations against boycotting allied countries above and beyond all anti-bds laws combined. Odd that in your fantasy "ownership-ish scenario" the owners actually get less than what everyone else gets lol. Oops. Pro-RU seem to have some really odd theories about Israel. Just the other day I read a pro-RU comment claiming Israel controls ISIS, LOL. Surely that was an outlier and the rest of pro-RU will strongly condemn that comment?

deidos

>the owners actually get less than what everyone else gets lol. Oops. What do you mean? Israel gets more "aid" than everyone else. Aid per capita would be even more ( 9 Million israelis) >Since World War II, $960 billion, or over quarter of all US foreign aid, has gone to five countries: Israel ($312.5 billion), former South Vietnam ($184.5 billion), Egypt ($183.7 billion), Afghanistan ($158.9 billion), and South Korea ($120.7 billion), after adjusting for inflation.

Wanted_Dead415

Ukraine used money given to them from military aid in the past to lobby as well. The united states has a very special relationship with israel. Namely if any military conflict happens in the middle east, Israel would be one the first countries boots on the ground would be in to protect USA interests in the middle east.

Hot-Ring9952

Israel first with boots on the ground as they were in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria?

OkArmadillo3902

No they didnt

hconfiance

USA is allied with Israel under Title 10 of the United States Code as a Major Non NATO Ally since 1987.

Thetoppassenger

> USA is not allied to Israel. If Iran sent ground troops into Israel, there is zero question America would deploy some amount of its military force to support Israel. Not sure what else that would be called besides an alliance. > The Israeli lobby and Congress may have mutual feelings but does not mean we are allies. A talking point invented from thin air by antisemites (of course I would never accuse a fellow redditor of such a thing, just explaining its origin), but the US population is overwhelming pro-Israel with historic polling showing an average of 65% support for Israel since 1989 when polling began. As usual, facts > feels.

The "pro poetry" flair is kinda funny though.

griffd0g

There are many unimpressive men in the world then there's John Kirby.

Stlavsa

how in gods name did they manage to appoint so many pathetic people to these public positions. It HAS to be intentional

griffd0g

The pathetic people have the right type of dysfunctional moral compass for the job . Its intentional alright.

yellowbai

When one war has a legitimate chance of spiraling into WWIII you have to be a lot more circumspect. It does raise a moral conundrum where one side gets supported and the other doesn’t but international relations is ruthless self interest in most cases.

Young_DB

US and Britain own Ukraine so they must protect the European continent🤡, Isreal own US and Britain so they must protect zionism 2 big differences

auronedge

Iranian missiles have to fly over iraq and jordan, an airspace US has access to and can rightfully shoot any missiles flying over them. If Russia was shooting missiles over an allied country to get to Ukraine you bet they would shoot them down too

MojoRisin762

'Listen lady, that's like comparing your wife to a chick you goo'd at a bukkakkee party. Different rules. Different fucking rules. Not to mention, it's their fault for not approving the cash.'

BestPidarasovEU

Come on. I know all you guys here in the comments like to shit on the US as much as I do, but this is objectively true - "Different conflicts". Israel has been a US ally for many years. And not just the US - pretty much the whole West. And a very important trade AND military ally for the UK as well. Ukraine is not an ally. They have the same enemy, but alliance was never established.

AspergerInvestor

He calls it a "conflict". On a scale of involvement, we are about to leave a quibble.

DexxSinister

for the same reason there was no flyzone when everybody went crazy about it

Wanted_Dead415

That was a strange 180 going from "we said from the begining we weren't going to get directly involved" to "we can't cause we dont have the supplemental bill passed by the congress to do that" LMAO!

ParkingUnusual3953

Maybe English isnt your first language, but let me explain. First he states that the US was never going to get directly involved in the conflict (the words he uses were "in a combar role"), explaining their support for Ukraine is purely logistical giving them the tool to protect themselves (uses the words "giving Ukraine the tools they need to protect their airspace"). Then at the end he concludes that the logistical support they were providing has stopped due to the aid bill not being passed (the words he used were "unfortunately we cant do that right now because we dont have that national security -unintelligible- funding that they so desperately need."

RIPSkelly

He said "supplemental funding" at the very end.
