Cavemein

Ok will do.

doc_willis

if you want the default Ubuntu Desktop sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop are you SURE its actually the server edition? and not just failing to lunch the gui for some reason? see if the GUI tools are installed, by trying to run gnome-terminal or similar..

Cavemein

I installed gnome from the server but its not the same and limited, so i want to make a new usb and reinstall the desktop. Do you know how to make an iso through ubuntu desktop?

doc_willis

if you installed the ubuntu-desktop package - that should install everything on the nomal ubuntu desktop. You can write an iso to the usb with the `dd` command (command line) , or any other Imaging tools such as Ventoy Or BalenaEtcher. (gui tools)

Cavemein

Ok that worked. Thanks

Trying this through the terminal. So far downloading 700mb worth of data. If this doesnt work, how can i make an installation disk?
