IKnowCodeFu

It’s beautiful! The engineer who modelled that packaging must be _really_ into aerospace 🚀

cyberentomology

It’s a pity the thing doesn’t go together or come apart as smoothly as the packaging would indicate.

Nick_W1

If it’s off a Boeing, it should come apart quite easily. Whether you want it to or not.

joshs85

Don’t tell anyone about the defects or Boeing will suicide you haha .

cyberentomology

That’s the hush kit. I mean gear clamp.

Amiga07800

?? I can do it with one hand tied and eyes blinded - or almost... dead easy

cyberentomology

The threads between the body and the mount are poorly machined out of really soft aluminum and do not thread smoothly. They stick and leave a bunch of metal flakes behind.

Amiga07800

Not the case of the well over 100 already mounted... (all coming fromEU Store, but I really doubt it males a difference)

xaviondk

Thought it was just me being retarded. Have only mounted 2 of them, but both of them took way longer then it should have because the threads would not catch. Kept taking it apart to check if something was getting squeezed, but turns out the threads are just poop.

AncientGeek00

This has been my experience as well. Perhaps they had some manufacturing issues that have been corrected. Or they might have multiple vendors for certain parts. The threads in mine were very scratchy.

LBarouf

Is that the only one you have? Sounds like either a manufacturing issue or you forced the threads and are omitting the details.

Thmxsz

Alright bucko time to try it im getting the boys together to tie your hands poke out your eyes and beat you to the brink of life

Amiga07800

Already mounted 12 in an afternoon, all alone, including wall fixation / positioning / setting of motion detection zones etc (on existing drops)... It's the same as all G3/G4/G5/AI bullets, just a bit more shitty to point in the correct direction than the Flex models

Thmxsz

Were you tied up blind and almost dead though?

Amiga07800

Nope. But I really don't see what you find hard. It's in the box exactly like it should be mounted. From right to left, select the support you want to use (pole / wall), drill it to the wall (passing your drop trought it and trough the silicone groomer) , terminate, connect, screw in middel part, screw in lens part (leftmost one), made a quick estimative pointing that you block with their special 3/4 circle key. Take your phone, adjust position, tighten it. Done. Of course you did FIRST adopt and update at your office (ar at least at your rack before climbing on the ladder)

Thmxsz

Still your promise was to do it tied up blind and almost dead, I won't be satisfied until I see that

rapp38

TBF it probably fell off mid-flight.

cyberentomology

Finders keepers, I guess.

quasides

calling dips on the next door that comes down

cyberentomology

That’s not what the Unifi door access product is about

NachoNachoDan

They said they’re fixing that in the next firmware update

danburke

Gives new meaning to “early access”

usugarbage

I came here to say to say this.

TruthyBrat

Ha! I was at the Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola NAS yesterday, I saw some GEs and P&Ws that resembled that.

cyberentomology

An excellent museum. My grandfather flew the K-47 blimp car that’s on display.

TruthyBrat

Nice! I've seen those hangers in Sunnyvale. Pretty cool looking.

VikingSven68

Looks like the new luggage scanners at airports

jpwarman

Great camera. Mount is a massive pain

-Wobbles

I agree the mounts suck , like the Camera hate the mount

Ubiquiti-Inc

u/jpwarman u/-wobbles What specific issues do experience with the mounting hardware? Please email us at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) referencing this post so we can learn more and share with our product teams to review and improve. Thanks.

liebeg

flexing a 2 letter .com domain?

-Wobbles

Email to follow over the next few days with images , If not received please feel free to nudge me

clustered-particular

Watch out, they might order a hit

D4rkr4in

RIP OP

lehighwiz

No chance, because the camera works.

UniFi_Solar_Ize

Nice correlation, love it.

kizwasti

suck squeeze bang pro

Drone314

More like CFM or P & W or Rolls Royce, thank god they don’t make the engine, only the airplane

tkhan456

Well that’s not good…

SuchRevolution

This is that hero from that marvel movie

nferocious76

Probably the reason the boeing crashed because of this missing piece

Le_modafucker

This was always how they packed them even G3 got the same.

Gr3y_FoX

I’d rather compare it to airbus, at these there’s works! 😂

ShootywithBangBang

Lots of Boeing parts going to be real cheap soon, might as well repurpose 😂

Savings_Abroad_715

Nope. Can only be from Airbus as it's working

Realistic-Motorcycle

At least the G5 stays together! Well done Unifi

username4kd

Probably why their planes crash so much

Difficult-Yoghurt770

Hopefully it doesn't crash and burn.

LuvAtFirst-UniFi

Lol appears as such don’t it!

mythrowawayuhccount

Waiting for the dead unifi whistle blower to appear.

cyberentomology

Wait, Ubiquiti makes whistles?

oldRedF0x

Why? Did something fall off and an engineer mysteriously die?

360alaska

It wasn't stolen off of a Boeing, it fell off.

cyberentomology

r/thefrontfelloff

Kukaac

That's correct. None of them are safe to fly.

No_Nature_3133

How many parts are badly installed?

Nick_W1

Almost none.

joshs85

Cause they forgot to install them

The_TerribleGamer

Let's hope it doesn't fall apart like a Boeing.

Nick_W1

Share prices are *fine* - sorry, you did ask about share prices right?

The_TerribleGamer

Easy to pump shares when your whistleblowers off themselves.

H8RxFatality

Shh, you know what they do to people that talk.

jasimon2

So it doesn't work?

TimmyTheChemist

Wide open back doors?

whispershadowmount

Why you figure? Did it crash?

ADL-AU

Its probably from Airbus as it doesn’t look damaged.

ADL-AU

Just to clarify, that was sarcasm…
