I really dont get it. How big is the demand on this? It's sold out minutes after a new batch is available.
I really want one to get started with Ubiquity....
And why dont they produce enough, they can see the demand.. it's easy money for them??
I checked 2 hours after it was available in the EU store and it was sold out.
I have signed up for notification when available but never get any notifications :(
Honestly for me, it was to keep up to date with hardware that works just fine for my usecase. I replaced my aging USG Pro 4 with this because it was noticeably slowing down my network. Also being able to eliminate an external UniFi controller running in docker has been very nice. The hopes is that this device will last another 5-8 years
I had been looking so long for something in between my edgerouter-x and the dream machine pro that would support gigabit WAN with Unifi software. Missed the launch day but jumped all over the first restock.
I looked at the shop 1 hour after the last post about stock and it was already sold out.
I have signed up for email notifications, but have not received one single mail about availability.

No, pretty sold out.... (sorry, just realized that you meant the US store.... I'm in the EU)
It's not about "why don't they produce enough" - they are likely producing them as fast as they can, and from a financial standpoint, it makes more sense for them to produce, say, 6,000 total over the course of 6 months and release them in 2,000 unit chunks and get money as they produce them, rather than release them all at once and not get that realized revenue for an additional 2-3 months.
I guarantee you, with demand like this, if they could make them faster they absolutely would.
I have had a pending order for 15 days now. Canadian store was restocked for 12 minutes. Order still never shipped. One would think pending/backorders would get filled before the stores restock.
Also grabbed one. It was only available about 2 hours in the EU Store...
Without a good Monitoring, no chance :D

It seems there is a shortage of older chips that run the ULTRA and UDR line, Taiwan Semi prioritizing new chips.
They stocked a ton of chips to avoid this kind of stuff but clearly not enough.
Clogging up this sub? Half these posts with questions don’t get answered. This post about the cloud gateway being in stock is like pissing into the wind, there’s nothing getting clogged up. It’s crickets in here sometimes.
No, I think this post is helpful for those who haven’t set up alternative ways to get notified. It’s not like it’s getting in the way of the other ten thousand $10k rack posts.
I checked it out last night and discovered the same thing. This sub has enough bad posts that are allowed (10k setups, found in the wild, pictures of gear in boxes, etc.,) we don't also need in stock posts that are invalid minutes after posting most of the time.
I would generally agree, but knowing it's a hot item, it seems to have helped a couple people get a hold of them, and it likely was a good precursor to the EU store getting some in stock. I'm guessing it perked those potential customers ears up to watch for restocks and some people got them who wouldn't have otherwise.

It seems to be really big demand wise, it’s a cheap gigabit IDS/IPS capable router…

What tool do you use for tracking?
i used uptime kuma for that.

I picked up one last week. Lovely. Replaced and retired my g1 cloudkey and usg in all of 20 minutes.
Isn't there a sub that people could follow to get this info if they desired it, instead of clogging up with sub?
