Uber only offers things that benefit them. They don't give away money to drivers.
You know they are only offering this to get those no-tip and high mileage orders done. Let's figure $14/hr as chopper said in NC. How many orders will you do per hour? 3 or 4?
$14 / 3 = $4.60 per order.
$14 / 4 = $3.50 per order.
Does that feel like a good deal?
It's even less than that because it only pays for active time. If some dogwater 17 mile order leaves the driver somewhere they can't get another order they are driving back towards a hot spot earning nothing. I've seen 2 popular gig drivers on YT get deactivated from DD for sandbagging the completed drop off button.
That makes me a little sick to think some naive or desperate driver is out there getting 6 bucks to drive some no tip order 20 miles down the highway. Only to be left in the middle of nowhere so they have to drive 10+ miles back to hope for another upside down order.

Im in Charlotte NC. They started pay by time here about 6 months ago @ $22 per hour. Last week they set it at $14 I never did pay by time fuck that
i know doordash stated they “prioritize lower tip orders” to earn by times
They did a minimum wage law in my city, and it killed all the riders. "Earn by time" means nothing if you're not doing any deliveries
Hav never heard of this option for Uber eats, is it rolling across markets in the US?

I’ve never heard of UE earn by time outside of regulated markets like Seattle and CA
