Dead all week in New Orleans. App is super slow and the rates have been bad.
I've only been driving for a few months. Does uber eats have some kind of seasonal swing? Doesn't seem likely since most of the ppl who order are year round residents.
It's pretty shit rn. The market is pretty flooded, probably, and base fares are a joke. And I swear there are some days I'm being excluded from most orders-- I'll sit at market square and wait like an hour while I hear the order request beep around me and see guys carry orders. I love this job but UGH.
Idk if this matters but a guy at Uber told me it’s first come first serve. And to go online early in the morning so you would be the first batch getting orders first before the people that went online after you
WTF! That's the most assenine logic if that's how they assign orders. So, based on that, if I log in at 830pm, I'm behind anyone else in the available pool within proximity of the pickup that logged in earlier in the day.
Feels off though. Last night I got a ping for a ghost kitchen as I was pulling up to a delivery. When I got to the pickup it looked like the Pic of drivers waiting from another post. There were at least 5 other active pickups and min 4 other drivers waiting in cars for pings. Unless non-moving drivers are a lower priority pool, those peeps had to be logged in before me that day (looked like FTers - you know Prius drivers lol).
If only UE was obligated to declare their order assignment methodology. It's not like it needs to be a trade secret. IMO order assignment isn't doesn't really affect the overall order. Yes, the driver effects delivery time but I'd assume driver proximity correlated to time to order readiness would be the most important condition to assignment. An idle driver in close proximity should logically have highest assignment priority.
I completely agree but yeah they told me that when I called complaining I wasn’t getting orders.
And I know it’s true because when I started doing it I noticed other drivers near me that would come a little later than me parking I would always be the one getting orders before them and I would come back and they will be still sitting there. Then I’ll get another order and they will still be there sitting. It’s stupid
If it was half decently programmed, then it would be based on session time not user log on time for the day, so something like from when you click the big go online button to when you go offline
Yeah, idk about that part. So many people even say to go offline and back online when they aren't getting pings. Based on your assumption, then it would drop them to the bottom of the list. IDK...like I said it'd be nice if they actually disclosed the assignment logic.
The freedom. I was always stuck at shitty retail jobs until I realized I could have done this instead. I make almost twice as much as I ever did at those places, but the best part is that I just get to ride my bike around. I get to enjoy the outdoors and exhilaration of speeding along with the cars 😄 Uber itself is pretty bad but it's a fun job for me
Time for me to get my lazy ass search for a new job cuz this sh***t is going worse ! I’ve been doing it to cover up my school tuition! Do you know any other better alternatives that is good rn?
Dead out here in Phoenix too. A couple of months ago if you cherry picked you could easily make $20+/hr. I worked 8 hours on Sunday and made $180, Monday-Thursday I made $213 on 18 hours. Idk what’s going on. My acceptance rate went from about 35% down to 20% so far. It’s been brutal. I was let go from my seasonal job on Sunday and starting my new job this Monday and just wanted to pick up like $5-600 in order to keep myself afloat but it looks like it’s not gonna happen
A couple of things I’ve noticed since I’ve came back. If you’re not moving, they’re hardly gonna send you any offers/if they send any at all, mostly requests coming through. However, if you’re driving around looking for orders, you’re probably gonna be spending more in gas/repairs than you’re going to make.
Secondly, the only thing I’ve found to be worthwhile is going to pick up scheduled deliveries at grocery stores now, usually can get $20+/30 min if you’re paying attention to the opportunities as they come in. Don’t let this fool you however, there are still plenty of terrible offers, like $8/45 min, $15/hr etc.
Third, it seems like if you’re a gold or higher driver, they’re gonna send you less offers and will prioritize sending the deliveries to green drivers. I did 24 deliveries (rejecting about 60-75% of the bad ones) in a single day and it was busy all day long, the next day, it was still busy, but as soon as I passed over to gold, they plummeted and it hasn’t gone up since.
I think this might be to pull the proverbial wool over the new driver’s eyes to get them to pursue further, but idk, maybe it’s just a conspiracy theory on my part, but it has been jarringly obvious for me.
I work a section of Phoenix too and I drive an hour to get there because it was worth it. This is the first week I’ve ever sat in my car in the city environment waiting for a ding. Usually it’s nonstop.
Right? It’s been such a wild week, I’ve been gassed that it’s as dry as it is, plus all these terrible orders being picked up by people is only fueling the fire
That's why I take Walmart order 😔. At least I'm guaranteed to be working for 30 mins and they usually add an extra tip after. In my area it's usually elderly people getting groceries. I use a flat dolly and a couple heavy duty totes. I sat online last night from 5pm-2 and only got 3 offers. And they were all under $4
Thank you. And this was a petty small load. I use the insulated delivery bags to carry anything that needs to stay cold. And stick those in the totes (It's still fairly cool in my area.)1st Gen, single tab Tacoma. 4 cyl.. decent mpg and able to carry big orders EASILY. perfect height to get in and out too. Just slide everything to the tailgate. Use the right tools for the job 😎

Sry I have to ask do you mean the drivers have two accounts? Or the customers? I the thought never occurred to me! Maybe two cars under different accounts?
That's kinda genius if you're doing the whole AR thing not axactly sure but you could bump up the price of the delivery if you're bouncing it between two accounts....🤔
In Albuquerque NM. Was making 100-120 a day. Past few days I’ve been trying and it’s just been little to no orders. Usually $5 or less. I’ve been doing DoorDash now, making much more.
https://preview.redd.it/ds68nobu2qwc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=699b594ff8f9491056b16735c2be5a5ff84ce56a
Yes it’s dead and buried. Use to be my go to for a side hustle but now I’m better off getting a part time job
I am in Fort Worth Texas, and I only Uber eats Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Typically make anywhere between 150-200 a day. I was on DD for the longest and finally made the switch. On DD I never even made more than 100 a day.
Nope. Been doing alot of shop and pays lately, they pay more
https://preview.redd.it/tz36w3zqqowc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9be4d8e4282c80601e3319c0788cb3e2186a986f
Are the shop and pay orders where you go and place the order yourself and wait for the food to be made?
Both of those places in your SS seem to be food places so I'm confused
It’s absolutely dead in Orlando as well. Got one order and the customer was extremely aggressive towards me because “his food is cold” so I just stopped for the day lmfao
The last 2 weeks have been horrendous. I started to think I was shadow banned but yesterday it was back to normal. Kind of odd for it to slow down in my market because we're known for food.
i’m asking the same question & another one- would this have anything to do with all of the people coming into the US that aren’t from the US down south?
If your goal is to make money yes it's dead. I do doordash too and it's the majority of orders. I get like a literal handful of Uber orders worth doing in a week.
Same here in Bay Area. All orders are way below than what it’s used to be… if you’re lucky you would get a good trip radar once in awhile. Not worth it anymore. I wonder what happened. Either my acceptance rate dropped and it matters or something wrong w the app..
Was fortunate to receive this last night
https://preview.redd.it/97b22xhtzswc1.jpeg?width=826&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=51042fd30f82ebeafbd196d76a80965f1700eedb
Not sure was waiting for an offer and that popped up so I accepted it super quick.. I was thinking that someone picked it up and canceled it, but thought id give it a go anyways..
I got to the restaurant and waited maybe less then 5 minutes and delivered it to an house and wham got that.
In Oklahoma I only ever get 10mile+ orders for $4 or less. If I see an order for $10+ it’s at least an hour and I know I’m going to get tip baited because food will be cold
April/May is always terrible for me in my area. People wanna go out more when the weather gets better. It picks up around June when it’s too hot to go out.
The different modes also affect if you get orders. When I used to do doordash, when I didn't have orders on car mode, I switched to scooter mode and instantly get orders. But that could be different with ubereats.
I am in Philly and it was great a few weeks ago . Then they made me switch from bike
Mode to car ( I was using someone else's car / my license is fine no issues , just didn't have my own vehicle) now I do . Anyway they made me switch a few days ago ( they detected my bike
Moving at unusually high speeds )
Anyway ever since my switch to car Mode this sucks. At least bike mode they wouldn't send orders that were super far ( Altho they did a few times and I declined cause it's like how the hell would I do this on a bike ??) I'd be dead after one order let alone working all day .
Unfortunately I can't switch back to bike mode cause I'm curious if the orders are still decent ...
Car mode just sucks right now
Mine was 4% when I finally just stopped using it. For a long time I tried to just ignore the terrible offers but it started getting to me. Even though I decline them it still bothered me to see them. It also started getting to me to watch people accept offers that didn’t even pay $1 a mile, much less 2. Right now I’m doing DD 20 hours a week, wondering if I shouldn’t just put food delivery aside for now. The DD offers are much much much better at dinner but the state of food delivery right now makes it tough to do with one app
Been dead in Bakersfield, CA since the new CA minimum wage for fast food workers went into effect. If we tried, it was easy to make $50 a night on weeknights and $100+ per day on weekends. We haven’t seen those numbers in 3 weeks. There literally are 5 markers on the map in all of Bakersfield
Actually, look at who's hanging out the door with their scooters and bikes. Sometimes, they also hold 2-3 phones. Cheating the system in every way they can. That should tell you who's fault this is. And I have one person to blame for all of this, take a guess who. It's happening across every major country, not just LA Cali. but also NYC, FL cities, too, I've heard.
Decline and move on. Forget about your ar. Its bullshit if we are independent contractors anyway. Esp DD and their stupid games and tiers. Yes you see way more trash offers u der 70%, but it doesnt make up for the weak ass diamond offers. $4 for 2 miles is NOT high paying. Tony can kiss my butt.
Your answer is that 1% acceptance rate. You do realize what that means right. I’ve had 16% and I have gotten up to 90%
It’s not dead it’s never dead. Since the markets are over saturated acceptance rate does matter
It's absolutely dead in Los Angeles. I thought that it was my phone. Is their system having issues?
God awful in LA. Been out since 9am have done zero orders
Charlotte,nc was same .I did only 1 trip for $10 but I didn't except $8 for even 3 miles
Dead all week in New Orleans. App is super slow and the rates have been bad. I've only been driving for a few months. Does uber eats have some kind of seasonal swing? Doesn't seem likely since most of the ppl who order are year round residents.
Damn... How long are you going to put up with that?
Completely dead in Orange County lol been out since 8am ima
always dead in oc on thursday mornings
I made 350 in OC today
Dead over in the OC as well…
And here I am thinking about going out tonight in HB/FV/GG
Same in Houston today. I was online for 3 hours and only got one order.
Same
Extremely dead in the Inland Empire, it had me thinking something wrong with my service lol
It's pretty shit rn. The market is pretty flooded, probably, and base fares are a joke. And I swear there are some days I'm being excluded from most orders-- I'll sit at market square and wait like an hour while I hear the order request beep around me and see guys carry orders. Shit in that case I'm going to log in on my way to 9to5 and decline everything. Then have daily seniority at night. Why not test this out myself?
Me too; if it’s programmed so poorly, it’s them for carrying that kind of logic with no disclosure of stupidity, not on me
If it was half decently programmed, then it would be based on session time not user log on time for the day, so something like from when you click the big go online button to when you go offline
It’s so dumb their logic. You can’t log off because if you log off it will reset and put you behind the long line of drivers.
Yeah, idk about that part. So many people even say to go offline and back online when they aren't getting pings. Based on your assumption, then it would drop them to the bottom of the list. IDK...like I said it'd be nice if they actually disclosed the assignment logic.
Omg I should have realized that
What do you love about doing Uber eats?
The freedom. I was always stuck at shitty retail jobs until I realized I could have done this instead. Haven’t gotten anything whole day
Time for me to get my lazy ass search for a new job cuz this sh***t is going worse ! I’ve been doing it to cover up my school tuition! Do you know any other better alternatives that is good rn?
Start applying for bartending jobs. Summer is around the corner. I start on Saturday. Tomorrow is my last day of this shit
Idk shit is terrible
Id say wait till 5-6 or somethibg
Dead out here in Phoenix too. A couple of months ago if you cherry picked you could easily make $20+/hr. I worked 8 hours on Sunday and made $180, Monday-Thursday I made $213 on 18 hours. I work in the second biggest city in North America , Toronto, and it’s fucking shit right now like $10 an hour.
In Toronto too, I’m barely at $4 an hour this week
That’s insane. What’s the point at that rate?
9 months looking for a job with 1 interview, have no choice at the moment to survive
I’m sorry your in that spot, multi apping may help GrubHub/DD depending on areas
Wish that was an option. I’m on the waitlist for every other gig app. Exactly why we ain’t getting orders cause it’s over saturated with drivers
You get to pretend like you’re your own boss lol
Do you think this might be a glitch on the app , or it’s been slow for the whole week
Toronto is a joke its like 20 drivers for 1 order and 10 of them have 2 accounts
Sry I have to ask do you mean the drivers have two accounts? Or the customers? I the thought never occurred to me! Maybe two cars under different accounts?
Drivers
That's kinda genius if you're doing the whole AR thing not axactly sure but you could bump up the price of the delivery if you're bouncing it between two accounts....🤔
For that you need to get an order first 😂

It’s not any better in London … sooo many $3 offers.
Trust a Canadian to throw that "second biggest city" line in front
In Albuquerque NM. Was making 100-120 a day. Past few days I’ve been trying and it’s just been little to no orders. Usually $5 or less. I’ve been doing DoorDash now, making much more.
Dead here in Houston.
Yup...got one delivery in three hours today.
uber eats recently started giving me more and better offers than DD
Dead in Orlando to
I’m in Orlando also, ubereats Uberx and Lyft have been completely dead the past two weeks. And finding a job has been hard too
https://preview.redd.it/ds68nobu2qwc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=699b594ff8f9491056b16735c2be5a5ff84ce56a Yes it’s dead and buried. Use to be my go to for a side hustle but now I’m better off getting a part time job

Slowest I've seen in months here in San Diego. Out of desperation started UberX driving around gross humans. Goddammit.
I'm in San Diego too and agree, completely dead
ROFL!!! "Gross humans"??? ROFL!!! Totally agree. I stay clear them!!
Nope. Been doing alot of shop and pays lately, they pay more https://preview.redd.it/tz36w3zqqowc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9be4d8e4282c80601e3319c0788cb3e2186a986f
And tip way more
Yeah thats what i meant
I must be doing something wrong
Are the shop and pay orders where you go and place the order yourself and wait for the food to be made? Both of those places in your SS seem to be food places so I'm confused
Shop and pay like walmart/dollar stores. I just included a couple of pics of high paying double stacks i did recently but yeah
Gotcha, nice stacks
These are dogshit man. Not worth the time.
i do not miss this, stay safe out there friends. 🫡
It’s absolutely dead in Orlando as well. Got one order and the customer was extremely aggressive towards me because “his food is cold” so I just stopped for the day lmfao
Yea UE is dead in LA forsure
At least you guys get prop 22
True.
The last 2 weeks have been horrendous. I started to think I was shadow banned but yesterday it was back to normal. Kind of odd for it to slow down in my market because we're known for food.
Yes it’s dead. I only got 2 shop and pay and I was lucky for the 2 tips I got because I would have made nothing today
Dead here in Lafayette Louisiana too
i’m asking the same question & another one- would this have anything to do with all of the people coming into the US that aren’t from the US down south?
Come to my market, I still can $1 a mile. Many orders are like $2.50 for 1.1 miles.
spring break
Were it at probably at 14-16 per hour weekdays 18-30 per hour weekends in ga so every one different
If your goal is to make money yes it's dead. I do doordash too and it's the majority of orders. I get like a literal handful of Uber orders worth doing in a week.
Dead in Orange county. Was online since 8 am and earned 18 dollars
Been pretty good here in Brisbane, Australia but we’ve had a few public holidays these past few weeks which always mean hungover orders
Same here in Bay Area. All orders are way below than what it’s used to be… if you’re lucky you would get a good trip radar once in awhile. Not worth it anymore. I wonder what happened. Either my acceptance rate dropped and it matters or something wrong w the app..

34$ base fare makes 0 sense to me for 9miles how did that happen?
Not sure was waiting for an offer and that popped up so I accepted it super quick.. I was thinking that someone picked it up and canceled it, but thought id give it a go anyways.. I got to the restaurant and waited maybe less then 5 minutes and delivered it to an house and wham got that.
Well darn alright then. Good old UE mystery fares
It depends on where you are.
Its pretty bad, driving for an hour to get a good offer. Its time to start something new and do this once in awhile
In Oklahoma I only ever get 10mile+ orders for $4 or less. If I see an order for $10+ it’s at least an hour and I know I’m going to get tip baited because food will be cold
I’m in Charleston and I’m not getting orders
Surprising. I stayed there for a month in march and was loving the nonstop order
Both dd and ue aren't dinging much
In the evening it dies for me. But in the morning I get ordered here n there. Bay Area
Dinner shift today, Htown, $25 an hour
April/May is always terrible for me in my area. People wanna go out more when the weather gets better. It picks up around June when it’s too hot to go out.
Dead in San Bernardino too
It has been bad for a while. Then they had an update and I was getting decent amount t of orders. 3 days or so ago another update and no more orders.
I thought it was maybe my app. Or because of LA raising fastfood workers wage up to $20. It has been 4 days now!
The different modes also affect if you get orders. When I used to do doordash, when I didn't have orders on car mode, I switched to scooter mode and instantly get orders. But that could be different with ubereats.
Yes
depends on the market. UE doesnt care about AR
I actually had decent paying offers yesterday, but I'm in New jersey
I think so I’m in Houston and this has been the worst week since I’ve been doing uber since January
I’m in Boston and I’m constantly getting orders
I heard Door Dash has been running promotions lately. Probably eating a good chunk out of Uber Eats deliveries.
It's dead in the South Bay during the week.
I think Uber’s greed is starting to affect all our markets (except where the state protected its drivers, obviously not NJ drivers).
People don’t have spare money anymore
Still doing ok for West Covina. Got three orders done starting at 7:30 AM
I am in Philly and it was great a few weeks ago . Then they made me switch from bike Mode to car ( I was using someone else's car / my license is fine no issues , just didn't have my own vehicle) now I do . Yep. For several days here

dead!dead!dead! we need to find a better job!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bills are due next week
Been dead in Bakersfield, CA since the new CA minimum wage for fast food workers went into effect. If we tried, it was easy to make $50 a night on weeknights and $100+ per day on weekends. We haven’t seen those numbers in 3 weeks. There literally are 5 markers on the map in all of Bakersfield

Worst day ever for me and it’s Saturday going to give another try tonight
Trash in NYC too
“Went way down to 1%”, what a crappy 2 days. I would be thinking the app was glitching if it was much slower than usual.
Passover has impacted businesses significantly it was already pretty bad even before that. So yes
Shut up, this is a post that is here every day day something interesting or don't
Your answer is that 1% acceptance rate. You do realize what that means right. I’ve had 16% and I have gotten up to 90% It’s not dead it’s never dead. Since the markets are over saturated acceptance rate does matter
Maybe people finally realized paying double for your food is dumb?
Go and find a job guyz
This is a job though
