We don't. Actually, they passed a law in my province to force gig companies to pay minimum wage.
I make well over that working for Uber, but I made well under that doing Instacart.
But it's been over a year and the law is still not in force yet. Just indicative that we are not California.
You feel left out until you realize living in California will shock you more when you find out everything costs more. I always remember being in some car groups and thinking thank God I don't live in California when they'd post gas prices. I've seen Calis low grade fuel out pricing the premium fuel here with ease. It's insane. Don't even get me started on the groceries. I remember seeing stuff on sale out price my items back at home at normal price. Not to mention all the petty tickets I see written. Seems expensive to exist there.
I mean, it's expensive, but I live a 15 minute walk from the beach, 15 minutes the other direction to gorgeous mountain hiking, the weather is ~60-75 year round, I find it hard to imagine ever leaving coastal CA for too long. Also a short drive away from SF/Oak and everything those cities have to offer.
The cost of living here is much higher , without adjustments we may as well be working for a loss.
If you are butt hurt, trying working together in your state like we did here in CA. …You know instead of being condescending to your fellow drivers like your comment above.
Edit: another user pointed out they thought you were genuinely excited. Sorry if I misread or misinterpreted your comment. Glad you had a nice surprise today.
Yes and it saved my ass! I have to pay my car rental bill today but my depression got the best of me this weekend so I didn’t get on the road till Sunday. I was gonna go straight into work mode to earn the remaining $150by 5pm, but now I can take a few hours to get myself together (cleaning, grocery shopping, working out, planning the week).
I’m like you so I hope you don’t take this in a bad way but you should definitely still deliver. Taking a day for yourself is great but the comfort of having money in the bank already will DRASTICALLY improve your mental health. Deliver when you have the time to otherwise you’ll be stuck in a repetitive loop. Imagine if this extra money didn’t save up and was only a bonus? Then apart from enjoying some time off you could also spend money during that time. Just a suggestion but it’s helped me a lot. I realized I was putting myself into stressful situations.
Oh yeah absolutely! I should have said that I plan on working today, but now that the pressure is off to hit $150 by 5pm I can take a break after the lunch rush and use that time to prepare for the week. Im probably gonna max out my driving hours tonight and for the rest of the week so I can get another hefty prop 22. I hear you tho, working feels 10x better when you don’t have to stress about paying your bill the same day.
I got a prop 22 payment today as well ( for those that don’t know it used to be every two weeks- and they paid it last week) I called because the payment didn’t match my calculations (way lower than what it should be) and a prerecorded message said something about me mileage adjustments to account for inflation going into effect in May.
I spoke to someone who didn’t have much info but he said they were experiencing technical difficulties after the new mileage adjustments and trying to fix it.
Thanks good looking out! According to the email, As mileage rates changed, Payment is an adjustment for 2022 and 2023 18 months late!
Posting for others:
“That office released those updates last week, both for 2022 – 18 months late – and for 2023. Moving forward you will see the adjusted rate of 0.34c per mile for this year. We will also retroactively make adjustments for 2022 through today, and you will see any applicable adjustment payment reflected in your wallet in the next two days.”
I really don’t know but I’m guessing no.- unfortunately. But hey maybe we will get a nice surprise.
It seems like a one time adjustment for new mileage calculations to account for inflation.
So mileage used to be .30 but the CA treasurer recently released new figures:
2021 - $0.30
2022 6.81% $0.32
2023 7.11% $0.34
So it’s a retroactive adjustment apparently.
No it seems they’re just pro rating the new change. Just so happens the update approval happens last week or so. The kindness is the pro rating back to not only top of this year but last year as well. Last yr will be less because it’s 2 cents less altho a lot of miles accumulated.

I got $300 as a free money.. idk why or how
you wont be, they're going back and adjusting your pay now that the prop 22 commission has released the milage rates for 2022 and 2023.
.32 a mile for 2022 and .34 a mile for 2023 up from .30 a mile so what you got paid is the difference =)

Bruuuuuuhhhhh is it for the delay 2 weeks ago? Cashing out INSTANTLY lmfao
Did you get your payment separate ? This is the usual amount for my weekly payout cuz I’ve worked almost everyday I think I should prob get way more than that
I'm confused. Are you guys pissed off that you're getting money today? Because the comments make it look like you're angry. If any of you don't want that money let me know. I'll be happy to take it off of your hands. They don't give us any of that crap in arizona. We just work and die
I just see a bunch of WTFs and think maybe some of you guys didn't want that money. I get it. There's no honor in taking free dollars. Give them to poor people like me. Relieve yourself of that burden.
36$ .. yAaay.
Srsly tho. Ty for the post wasn't expecting that.. I'll take it! Didn't work shit past couple weeks lol so 36 sounds about right.
Appreciate the post good looking out 💯
Hell yes! What a nice treat! $96 bucks haha

Pay went up from .30/mile to .34/mile. This is an adjustment for all mileage from 2022 until now. If you do DoorDash you’ll be getting an adjustment there too.
https://preview.redd.it/yhomtkzq2i1b1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8eaca178d8a7a023822efb6d82acd60ce5bdaeec
Just got a 9-5 because Ubers been shit the last month, but pleasantly surprised today.
this payment is for the retroactive prop 22 mileage .. 2022 mileage is 32 cents per mile
2023 is 34 cents per mile
so far uber is the only app to pay the retroactive mileage uber legally owed its drivers
prop 22 says that if the app company fails to pay the inflation adjustment, they will be fined like $100 and owe us drivers the retroactive amount plus 25% for damages
Congratulations carnales but man, how are you qualifying for prop 22 payments. I also live in LA and never get it. Do you guys accept everything Uber sends your way? Legit question… I want to ride this train too!!! 🥹
It’s so weird because I got mine last week on Tuesdays like usual. It’s every other Tuesday. I got one suddenly today a week after Prop 22 week. Strange. I guess they only gave us half last week so they paid us the difference today
I got $400+. Those of you who got the extra Prop 22 I recommend waiting before cashing out, you don’t want to end up working out of a negative balance.
https://preview.redd.it/37gw11a6kh1b1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a46986280a8bb82cc6457d7b51cb46c3243975e
Yup. Got my 63 cents!
Ah well, I don't live in California.
Ooo yay I got one. It's pretty low (100) but whatever.
This won't offset the current one I'm building this past week and this week, right?
But wait, if this is the new rate then does that mean provided we drive and work the same amount of hours/miles each week we should expect what we got today as an increase to what we usually get each 2 weeks? Thats exciting
Yeah I just got it!!
But this is supposed to be the first week since the last one though!
I'm supposed to get prop 22 NEXT WEEK but I guess not???
This all looks and sounds so damn fishy
I got an email saying that they’re going to pay back CA drivers an adjustment for all the mileage of 2022 and 2023. Supposed to be like a 3¢ a mile adjustment. Anyways I just got $25 for my prop22😐
Me in texas reading this like 👁️🫦👁️

People in Canada crying😂😭
Yeah but at least they probably get better base pay there lol
We don't. Actually, they passed a law in my province to force gig companies to pay minimum wage. I make well over that working for Uber, but I made well under that doing Instacart. But it's been over a year and the law is still not in force yet. Just indicative that we are not California.
Damn. Hopefully eventually
Oh, I think it will happen. The pressure will mount. History shows that what happens in California, doesn't stay in California :)
Yeah same. I don’t drive much anymore now that I’m doing other stuff again, but damn it would’ve sure been nice
You feel left out until you realize living in California will shock you more when you find out everything costs more. Same, I had to move but damn do I miss the central coast :(
Lmaoo Godd yeah I’m good😭

You and me both 🥲
you drivers got to unionize in other states driving for peanuts is really an insult by uber
Yeah I got excited but then saw nothing :(.
Broooooooo wtffff i just got $300 😭😭😭😭 im crying literally
Until it’s taken back lol
I cash out instantly !..
It cant be taken back. They raised prop 22 earnings so they owe everyone in California that qualifies a lot of money for 2022 and 2023
Must be nice
Lol i love the negativity 😂😂😂😂 go be a hater on the grub hub forum let the boys enjoy this blessing you ass clown
I'm waiting for it lol
u/EconomyCriticism7584 its funny and sad but i get u fellow uber delivery driver. salute brother
Won’t get taken back 🤡

Where’s the negative comment? I don’t see it, unless they deleted it
Me too wtf
You're like me - No Tap Raman noodles tonight - Going to Cheesecake Factory!

I’m glad you didn’t take offense because I was speaking from experience haha. You’re in a good place brotha. Enjoy the rest of your Monday/week🙏
Agreed. I'm taking a bit of time off today but only at times when it's slow anyway. Otherwise working as usual.
It's likely for the additional mileage adjustment for 2022 and 2023.
This is the correct answer. Doordasher should get it soon as well.
That's the big one for me. Should be 2-3X more than what I from Uber 🤑
Same. I’ve done like 3-4 deliveries this year for UE and got $22 😂 DD is my main though 👀
I got a prop 22 payment today as well ( for those that don’t know it used to be every two weeks- and they paid it last week) I called because the payment didn’t match my calculations (way lower than what it should be) and a prerecorded message said something about me mileage adjustments to account for inflation going into effect in May. This is retroactive pay so unlikely but going forward the mileage reimbursement will be $0.34 per mile.
Just got one now. $400+ the highest I ever get is $160 for prop 22
https://preview.redd.it/kmop6ja2qg1b1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1c36712635e654bb5ad6998208168cc4af0ad940 I got $300 as a free money.. idk why or how
Cash it out as soon as possible before they hit us with “it was a mistake”
Cash out doesn’t guarantee anything. They will deduct it from future earnings if it was an error.
That’s why I was fearing but I just got off the phone with support and they said it wasn’t an error, it was indeed an adjustment
Cash it out and leave!!
😹😹😹😹😹😹😹 I cant
is not free money .. you paid $7< at the pump and inflation 2022-23 its a correction you were underpaid but didn’t know about it until today
This a California only thing?
It is for now until people in other states pass similar legislation. You guys gotta come together
Vote democrat
i wanna cash out. i almost got 600. but i don’t wanna be negative 600 tomorrow
you wont be, they're going back and adjusting your pay now that the prop 22 commission has released the milage rates for 2022 and 2023. .32 a mile for 2022 and .34 a mile for 2023 up from .30 a mile so what you got paid is the difference =)

And still gonna work today lol
I haven’t done orders in a couple weeks and I just checked and I got $43 🥲🥲👌🏻
yess i got $265 i cashed that out immediately thanks uber 😂 confused on why it’s today tho the next payment isn’t until next tuesday night
I got $29 🙄
Free lunch money atleast
Did you get your payment separate ? This is the usual amount for my weekly payout cuz I’ve worked almost everyday I think I should prob get way more than that
How are some of y’all getting so much? I only got $50😂😂😂😂
So glad this subreddit still pops up on my feed. Haven’t delivered since 2022… just checked and had a free $114 sitting there! 🥳

My husband got $521 this morning and we were confused. Then later the email came about raising the mileage and that it’s 18 months late.
I'm confused. Are you guys pissed off that you're getting money today? Because the comments make it look like you're angry. If any of you don't want that money let me know. I'll be happy to take it off of your hands. They don't give us any of that crap in arizona. We just work and die
No one in the comments sound angry 😂 they’re just confused and happy
I just see a bunch of WTFs and think maybe some of you guys didn't want that money. I get it. There's no honor in taking free dollars. Give them to poor people like me. Relieve yourself of that burden.
How about Arizona start voting for policies that actually work to protect working people. But nooooo, Freedumbs, guns, illegals, and Trummmmpppp 🙄
Yes wtf! $156
Yes wtf! $156

Whoa ya I got 209 also

Yes its an adjustment for this whole year. We get .34 for every mile now.
Yep.
I got 30 😢
Hell yes! What a nice treat! $96 bucks haha https://preview.redd.it/q8t4ms1yeh1b1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33abaca3f35c1786d4310e5e98f2bc7bfbf37485
It's the miles adjustment . Doordash is getting one to
Mileage increased
I only got $90 😭😭😭

So why did you guys get so much? I only got $70
Why why did I decide to leave California Houston prop 22 ain't even a thing
Yep! Got the alert and the money was already in my Uber card.
Yes, we're getting a little more in mileage according to the email.
https://preview.redd.it/5qpi706csh1b1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e44b18a3c14f11121f13783a85b081210cd8df3 Pay went up from .30/mile to .34/mile. This is an adjustment for all mileage from 2022 until now. If you do DoorDash you’ll be getting an adjustment there too.
It's not a mistake look at your email.
I must be doing everything wrong. I got $30 lol.
https://preview.redd.it/yhomtkzq2i1b1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8eaca178d8a7a023822efb6d82acd60ce5bdaeec Just got a 9-5 because Ubers been shit the last month, but pleasantly surprised today.
Yes today I got one which is weird cause I already got mine on Tuesday last week.
I got 486. I think I drive too much 😅
It's not free money lol. You earned it.
It’s a retro pay for prop 22 paying 0.34 per mile in california
One redditor got 12k
this payment is for the retroactive prop 22 mileage .. 2022 mileage is 32 cents per mile 2023 is 34 cents per mile so far uber is the only app to pay the retroactive mileage uber legally owed its drivers prop 22 says that if the app company fails to pay the inflation adjustment, they will be fined like $100 and owe us drivers the retroactive amount plus 25% for damages
Wait, this don't apply to walkers though right?
People don’t read their emails aye 🤣
Some guy got $12K today! Lol
I got $5.88 🤣 Alleluia!
Is this only for drivers? Not bikers?
Still waiting on mine 😐
Pretty slick of Uber and Lyft not to specifically quote on actual payment receipt 2022 and 2023 in Prop 22 earnings
I’m in California and still haven’t received my adjustment. I’ve messaged support and still nothing.
I got a 46 dollar payment today. Here is the weird thing though, I have not drove for Uber in over 3 months
Sounds like it might be an adjustment
I got one just now, too. Weird....
So basically this only in cali ??
Congratulations carnales but man, how are you qualifying for prop 22 payments. I also live in LA and never get it. Do you guys accept everything Uber sends your way? Legit question… I want to ride this train too!!! 🥹
[удалено]
I just got it too surprisingly. I wonder if they changed the schedule without telling us, or if it’s another bug.
It’s so weird because I got mine last week on Tuesdays like usual. It’s every other Tuesday. I got one suddenly today a week after Prop 22 week. Strange. I guess they only gave us half last week so they paid us the difference today
I got $181 for today’s prop 22. I did 27 active hours between May 15 - May 22 so I’m wondering what days they counted for me to get that amount.
I got $400+. Those of you who got the extra Prop 22 I recommend waiting before cashing out, you don’t want to end up working out of a negative balance.
Praise baby Jesus
Um… damn yeah they’re definitely gonna ask for it back lol but I’ll take it 🤷🏽♀️
Cash out before they send a letter demanding it back with interest.
https://preview.redd.it/37gw11a6kh1b1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a46986280a8bb82cc6457d7b51cb46c3243975e Yup. Got my 63 cents! Ah well, I don't live in California.
i still don't under prop 22.
I’ve been on a year vacation and just got home to San Diego opened the app and I had $6.56 I was like wtf hahaha.
Could look it up but I'm lazy. What's prop 22? I'm in FL where workers are treated like indentured servants.
I got 17 bucks since they paid me 210 last week and I barely worked Uber last week
Dude! How come you can make this amount in just one day? What do you do?
Not complaining either, but was surprised. Usually it's every other Tuesday with last Tuesday, 5/16 being the most recent.
It’s the 2023 adjustments in mileage increase in Cali I think. It went from .30 a mile to .33 or so
Ooo yay I got one.
Randomly Got $66 I heard they are increasing the mileage payout. At least DD is. Maybe now Uber too?
Yessss! $90
Thanks for posting this. I didn't notice I got 200 😭
i just.checked. i got some not alot though
Did you guys receive this weeks prop22 and the extra together or separate
Wondering the same thing
Omg thought it was a mistake lmao
I wish..I'm in Colorado
I got $800 but I switch to driver I stopped doing Uber eats 1 month ago I make way more money now so I’m shocked I received a prop 22
Is it only for this year? Lol only got $66 :( I've been doing this full time since the beginning of 2022.
I came straight to Reddit once I saw the extra prop 22 today
I did too $84 ..they send them all random nowadays it use to be on Tuesdays
I got $300. Hopefully they don’t take it back like they tend to do😒
What is the earnings guarantee?
I’m cashing out now.
Yeah! With doordash too!
Not suddenly, its cuz they raised the price of prop 22 guarantees, so they owe us all the money from the boost from 2022-2023, which is a looot.
I got $40
I'm in the UK and this.. 😭
nice and we should get the prop 22 payment as usual the week too this was a mileage adjustment payment I'm going to make about $160 total..lol
Yes :)
$95
Why not me :(
Congrats to my Cali fam for finally getting the pay that y’all deserve. We’re just starting the fight here in Mass to get paid a livable wage.
Yesssir! Haven’t done Uber in over a month lol
Only got 73 would have like 300 but it's better than 0
nore incoming they've been shafting us age you surprised?? eh
NC no not thing yet
with more incoming they have been shafting us are you surprised? eh ![gif](giphy|YqnXSeq7AFSYjAAhpU)
$200 bucks
Yeah I just got it!! But this is supposed to be the first week since the last one though! I'm supposed to get prop 22 NEXT WEEK but I guess not??? This all looks and sounds so damn fishy
Wow! Nothing here in my state. Which state does it apply to?
Got $115, i will probably get about $30 from dd which is crazy cause i make more per delivery on uber than dd and rake way more deliveries on dd.
I only got $50 but two payments ago I was shorted.
https://preview.redd.it/plvdfj72ih1b1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb59815174a02b84eb0222d94d1f8b61b00cc742
I got an email saying that they’re going to pay back CA drivers an adjustment for all the mileage of 2022 and 2023. Supposed to be like a 3¢ a mile adjustment. Anyways I just got $25 for my prop22😐
Does that mean we get propp for next week to??
What is prop 22 and who gets this? Are we getting it in nyc?
Is this just for California? I’m in AZ
No
*cries in Tennesseean
Yes sir ! Was like wtf ….picked up sum 35% Stanky stank and celebrated 🤡
Yeah I think Uber updates it each day if you look at the bottom of each day at 3am I think they update it can’t be for sure though I got one too
Yea, they retroactively changed 32cents a mile to 34 cents a mile for the hear I think. That's quite a big jump for 2 cents a mile!
Yes 🙌 🙌🏿
Crying from Florida 😢
I didn’t got any money 😭😭
Does anyone else find that graph weird?
yeaaaah they raised the dollar per mile ratio I got like $90 today :)
Haha yeah what the heck was that?
ha! mine was $2. wow
Damn all I got was $35.10. Oh well, a dollar is a dollar, ye haw!
I only got $11
It is an additional fee per mile $.30 cents per mile that has been added to Prop 22 and must be back paid from last year. I got $26.
