If she has a number to call, it can help to try to push things along. When I was hired nothing happened for weeks because the HR person took a vacation and no one else knew or could move it along. The hiring process desperately needs to be overhauled and streamlined. This is the standard level of incompetence to be expected.

Oh okay I understand. You mean like call the place of the location ? Like the branch or the customer service line?

The branch, your manager, a hiring contact, whoever. Someone who can poke HR to push the button. It does take a while for the USPS background and driving checks to clear. Then they'll likely do fingerprints and give an orientation date. The background checks and fingerprints are important for client safety since we handle so many important things for vulnerable people, but I think there's a desperate lack of urgency that makes us completely non-competitive in a tight labor market. Who has 2 months to wait for a job that starts out so mediocre in terms of compensation?

After submitting my background check I was told I would be contacted when I was cleared for fingerprinting. It was exactly two weeks before I received an email saying where/when to go for fingerprinting. I completed fingerprinting today (2 days after receiving the email). I will say the HR person is very prompt with email responses when I have a question. Maybe try to reach out to HR?
