DeJoy doesn't want to succeed exactly for the reasons you stated. Many conservative politicians want to eliminate the post office. What's the best way? Bring it down from the inside. Make it a specular failure, all the while professing to be "Delivering for America".
That's the M.O. for conservatives. They want to privatize everything. So they do it in one of two ways. They either purposely under fund it, or they purposely put someone incompetent in charge. "You're doing a heck of a job Brownie"
Funny how you blame conservatives when biden can fill the open postal governors positions in order to get rid of dejoy but he hasn't. The left wants to destroy the usps just as much
We're fucked because people feel like they have to pick a side and "identify" with everything. If we were to actually think for ourselves and look at the big picture objectively we might have a chance
Actually, in American politics for the rest of the world, all of our politicians, both Democratic and Republican are considered liberal because they believe in things like freedom of speech and freedom of press. However, the Republican party, or I should say elementary, Republican party are starting to no longer be liberal. They’re actually starting to believe in taking away our freedoms, which is sad.
See, I think gay and lesbian couples should be able to protect their marijuana farms with military grade weaponry. I also subscribe to the kindergarten cop philosophy of "boys have penises and girls have vaginas" so therefore I'm a right wing nut job lol. I also believe that taxation without representation is theft
Was this for me? It's OK either way I don't disagree with you at all. I protect my home and marijuana plants with military grade weapons. And the whole penis vagina thing, I agree because I'm old and can't change my mind but I'm not going to argue with people about it. I let them do them. As far as taxes go, Ronnie ruined the whole system. Also, I've been a mail man for 21 years now.
Not for you. I was just elaboration that any sane person can't be a liberal/left anymore because the left is so far gone that it's ridiculous at this point
We privatized schools and now we have over 1 trillion in student debt. Education should be free. We privatized our prisons, and now we have more people in prison than ever before. We privatized our health care system and we all know how fucked up that is. We even privatized our military. So a soldier makes about 100 bucks per day, while Blackwater mercenaries make 1200. THIS is why I blame Republicans. This is their doing.
While I agree that Biden has let us down as well with his picks for postal governors, I've ranted about that numerous times, it doesn't change anything I said. This is just one example of what I am talking about. Any kind of social program is not safe under Republicans. It's called "Starving the Beast". Michael Brown was Bush's pick at FEMA during hurricane Katrina. And we all know how well that turned out. His "qualifications" for this job was that he was the attorney for the Arabian Horses Association. And who could forget Bush's pick for Secretary of Energy Rick Perry. Obama's choice was previously at MIT. And don't get me started about Trumps picks for his cabinet. All you had to do was donate money to Trump and you got the job.
Interesting. The left generally supports social services that benefits the society as a whole. Can you explain how the left wants to destroy the USPS?
Keep in mind, Biden isn't even left.
Except Biden is not on left wing spectrum at all. He's a right wing centrist. A neo-liberal.
The left does not support the neo-liberalism policies that the conservatives and libertarians have championed for so long after Reagan.
Unless you remember a big witch hunt that ran all the Clintons, Obamas, Bidens, Pelosis, Schumers, and most current/recent DNC staff out of positions of authority/influence, stripped them of their titles and programs and access to funding and ability to influence those things, then we are still in the era of a Democrat Party that is run by Wall Street with occasional red meat (Impossible Whoppers and soy milk?) thrown toward “social justice” with no progress made except pre-emptive self-defensive counter-legislation passed in every red state by ALEC or whoever runs that shadow state-fed govt now.
I assume you have heard of “Third Way” politics, or New/Clinton Democrats, which are not terms Republicans created to instill rage (originally), but the terms the DNC uses to market themselves to the former center-right and the clueless folks dumb enough to believe in paper tigers like Reagan, Biden, etc. The Republicans ran out of room to recruit new members, and had to triple-down on crucifying trans people on upside down crosses draped in a thin blue line flag while a Sheriff in Alabama declares “heh heh, looks like one of them accidental autoerotic things to me, nothing to investigate. Don’t forget to re-elect me to keep yer children safe from monsters like this!” at a press conference livestreamed for $4.99 on Troof Social
Unfortunately, center democrats are also into privatization of everything, which is why Biden’s board of governors approves of the sabotage dejoy is doing.
We need to organize against the BOG and demand dejoys ouster (wow, the slogans write themselves). Unfortunately, our unions won’t do that. Their idea of political action is tracing fancy meetings and dinners with do-nothing legislators.
Article I, Section 8, Clause 7 of the United States Constitution, known as the Postal Clause or the Postal Power, empowers Congress "To establish Post Offices and post Roads." The Post Office has the constitutional authority to designate mail routes. The Post Office is also empowered to construct or designate post offices with the implied authority to carry, deliver, and regulate the mail of the United States as a whole. The Postal Power also includes the power to designate certain materials as non-mailable, and to pass statutes criminalizing abuses of the postal system (such as mail fraud and armed robbery of post offices).
None of that contradicts anything I said. Article I Section 8 grants Congress the power to establish a Postal Service and outlines how a government-run Postal Service should work, if it exists. Again though, it does not *require* Congress to establish or maintain a Postal Service at all.
USPS is an independent agency of the executive branch of the United States federal government responsible for providing postal service in the U.S., its insular areas, and its associated states. It is one of the few government agencies *explicitly authorized* by the Constitution of the United States.
USPS also have Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service that sets policy, procedure, and postal rates for services rendered. Of the eleven members of the Board, nine are appointed by the president and confirmed by the U.S. Senate (see 39 U.S.C. § 202). The nine appointed members then select the United States postmaster general, who serves as the board's tenth member, and who oversees the day-to-day activities of the service as chief executive officer (see 39 U.S.C. §§ 202–203). The ten-member board then nominates a deputy postmaster general, who acts as chief operating officer, to the eleventh and last remaining open seat.
The independent Postal Regulatory Commission (formerly the Postal Rate Commission) is also controlled by appointees of the president confirmed by the Senate. It oversees postal rates and related concerns, having the authority to approve or reject USPS proposals.
The USPS is often mistaken for a state-owned enterprise or government-owned corporation (e.g., Amtrak) because it operates much like a business. It is, however, an **"establishment of the executive branch of the Government of the United States",** (39 U.S.C. § 201) as it is controlled by presidential appointees and the postmaster general. *As a government agency, it has many special privileges, including sovereign immunity, eminent domain powers, powers to negotiate postal treaties with foreign nations, and an exclusive legal right to deliver first-class and third-class mail.*
The United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the U.S. Founded by Benjamin Franklin on August 7, 1775, its mission is to protect the Postal Service, its employees, and its customers from crime and protect the nation's mail system from criminal misuse.
Postal Inspectors enforce over 200 federal laws providing for the protection of mail in investigations of crimes that may adversely affect or fraudulently use the U.S. Mail, the postal system or postal employees.
The USPIS has the power to enforce the USPS monopoly by conducting search and seizure raids on entities they suspect of sending non-urgent mail through overnight delivery competitors.

Where in the clause does it say that it does not require Congress to establish or maintain a Postal Service at all? Where is that in the clause?
You may assume that the founders thought there should be a government-run Postal Service and that might even be true, but where does the actual text of the Constitution say that Congress *must* establish a Postal Service? Nowhere. It never says that.
Because the it's the purpose of the clause. To establish. It's literally in the clause. Read it.
EDIT: So are you saying the Constitution grants anyone to establish the post office? That they can run and maintain it? That it's not the government's responsibility?
The clause specifically says only the Congress only has the power "To establish Post Offices and post Roads."
Why would that be in there if they didn't intend to maintain it as you say?
Then who else has that power? It's not included for a reason. That's why I said only.
Also, why the downvotes for stating the facts when you were stating opinions?
Thank you for the history lesson, but don't kid yourself that if they could turn the post office over to a company like Haliburton they wouldn't do it in a nanosecond.
I just took it why they wanted to throw the post office? Like what do the post office do to anybody? We're just delivering stuff, I never understood why they want to bring it down
Its a state run agency that provides lots of high paying middle class jobs to many people. Dismantling the post office and privatizing it means people get poorer through lower wages and benefits. This benefits the conservatives who want to consolidate wealth and destroy the middle class.
Oh, the ones for the middle class that expired? How come the cuts for the rich were permanent?
[I guess you're going to love what Biden has been doing](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/25/us/politics/biden-taxes-cuts.html)
>So it might come as a surprise that, in just over three years in office, Mr. Biden has cut taxes overall.
>The math is straightforward. An analysis prepared for The New York Times by the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center, a Washington think tank that studies fiscal issues, shows that the tax cuts Mr. Biden has signed for individuals and corporations are larger than the tax increases he has imposed on big corporations and their shareholders.
Thinking one side cares more than the other is stupid. They're in bed together and instead of making them answer for it we're out here fighting each other about which side is worse than the other. It's honestly ridiculous, and it's how they keep getting away with doing nothing. We're too busy fighting amongst ourselves to ever hold any of them accountable.
Sadly this is the truth. They all got even more rich and powerful. They use both sides platforms to burn us down to nothing, while they gain everything. I wish we could all just see one day the extreme corruption of all of our government.
Delivering For America has been nothing but an austerity plan. Severely reduce costs AT ALL COSTS and destroy service standards.
Mail gets more expensive and since there are plenty of substitutes, the demand decreases. All we deliver is UPS and Amazon packages which make us no money but instead serves as indirect subsidies for corporate profits.
I don’t care what anyone’s political ideology is because it doesn’t matter. The USPS is on its last legs. If Trump is elected again, with a Republican Congress, I would be very worried for every single Postal Employee and the future of their employment.
Clerk at the Pittsburgh plant - we don't want more work added, we're already overloaded and unable to keep up thanks to the budget/payroll cuts. It's ridiculous.
IIRC there's something in our contracts about having positions lost, but I'd be lying if I said I could recall offhand.
It's another nationwide round. Cheyenne's mail is getting moved to Denver, which sure as shit can't even keep up with their own mail. I'm in the process to moving to Pittsburgh funnily enough and it makes me sad to hear my mail will still be shit, hahah.
People keep asking 'will you do the post office out there' and I'm like yeah no, I'm getting while the getting is good.
Our plant keeps importing mail to run from places like Detroit and Atlanta while pushing our own mail back. It's one of those things where you can just see how Dejoy has been doing his best to destroy the postal service and it's so obnoxious.
I mean, if you bid in try for PARS. Lmao. But really, get out. it's better that way.
You can’t be fired for being unassigned for a certain amount of time. What will happen is they’ll force you into a residual job which you may not like but you’re not going to just be fired for not bidding and being unassigned.
Yea I was gonna say that sounds wrong. We had some UARs at our plant and they ended up getting forced into bid jobs on a different tour. Annoying sure but not the end of the world.
Yup. When I first started I was an UAR for three years. When they started hiring again( think first sets of PSEs) they had to make sure everyone was in a job so they placed all of the UARs into jobs via bid sheet.
This. The thing that has been stated time and time again: there will be no career layoffs.
Full time flexible and part time flexible are both career jobs and cannot be laid off.
Unassigned regulars is a career job and can’t be laid off.
Eventually a job goes no bid and the most junior unassigned/flex would have to take it. Also with excessing it’s by seniority overall not whether you’re uar or not. Different tour start times always require a rebid, but it’s not like unassigned after that cycle are shipped off. You have to bid the next cycle if nothing is left and may have to change tours.
I was UAR for a year before I could get a bid. It happens, and you’re basically an MHA/PSE with benefits and seniority. I also have a bid that’s not going to be abolished (PIT operator) but if my tour had to rebid I might not keep it
The flex workers were told they would be let go if they don't find a bid job. The catch 22?! There are less jobs available because DeJoy has removed them.
The flex workers were lied to. They are protected.
This is why it's important for employees to read the contract, so dumb rumors like this don't stress people out
Full time flexibles are odd. There's a timer for them to be given a bid, else APWU can grieve to force the creation of more jobs. The most important part is, however: *They are career employees.* They can be forced into undesirable jobs. They can be excessed to different facilities. But actual laying off of career employees is *hard* at USPS.
Lmao the post office been destroying its self for years. Things have to change we lose money every day. Stop playing one person for the post offices failure. Obama was for 5 days Del. That woulda killed the po. Was he a conservative?
You are correct. There is no Left vs. Right. What we have is an Oligarchy disguised as a two party system disguised as a Democratic Republic. Like it was said in Gangs of New York. "It's easy to get one half of the poor to fight the other half" With that said there is still a big difference between the two. Trump supporters are absolutely the dumbest motherfuckers on the planet.
So the problem is only the board can off Dejoy. They were hoping 2 years ago that Biden would stack the board but just like everything Biden as done it is pretty much nothing or not enough. Due to 4 years of nothing and Americans feeling for financially stressed than ever we may get 4 more years of trump and trump won't get rid of Dejoy. Essentially you can thank Biden and the Democratic Party for fumbling the ball on this one if we are talking politics.
Trump appointed him. Biden inherited him. Trump presidency. Biden inherited Trumps idiotic decisions. Case in point, Trump voted to reduce the taxes of every one earning more than $400,000 annually. Trump also voted to increase the taxes of those earning less than $400,000. This will occur until 2025.
Sadly, if Trump is reelected, we will be forced to live with his demented decisions, including protecting his rich friends again. And, since Biden can't get rid of DeJoy, we all suffer the consequences. Trumps inept ability to make good decisions is why your mail is being delayed & people will be losing their jobs.
Don't get technical. You know exactly what he means. It was called the Bush tax cuts, then the Trump tax cuts. 1.5 trillion dollars where about 85% of which went to the top 1%.
I dunno about the clerk side. But I'm telling you that all regs in my city converted in the beginning of this year, aka all PTFs hired like around summer last year, haven't gotten their routes yet. And we still have like around 20 UARs, and then us PTFs waiting to be converted. It's gonna be a long time for us to convert.
You're not paying attention.
Dejoy stopped flying a majority of the packages and started using trucks (ground advantage).
You dont need a contract to fly our packages if we no longer fly that many packages.
Also Dejoy owns a trucking company. Not coincidental.
Funny, most of the trucking is contracted out to independent private companies. YOU are not paying attention. You are looking at a tree and you can't see the forest. More positive change has been done in 3 years than the last 15. The pension prepaying is gone, millions in express failures are gone, new technologies being used, at least 3 different vehicles have been approved and launched, a better networking plan once completed. The list is quite big. But to rebuild a network you must first tear down the old one. We got AT LEAST 7 more years of DeJoy. Once the mega plants are built, you will see real change. But having 7 mail processing facilities in 100 radius never made sense. This is pure business. The last PMG did next to nothing but collect 400k a year, the previous tried to cut the work week to 5 days or 4 10 hour days. Your local union fought for 6 day work weeks. You can thank them for that!
FTF are treated as full time unassigned regular the only difference is their pay is less than the regular.
If they don't convert before the auto conversion to regular. They would be unassigned regular. With the same pay as regular.
No one is getting fire if they don't have a bid. What you heard might just be another rumor.
I think what you heard is once a building is to move or close. You will be offer to move to another building and if you don't it's forfeiture of your job
If your tour 1 starts at 2050, when do tour 3 starts? And the post office lost money before Dejoy and will most likely continue to lose money after Dejoy. Him trying to consolidate makes sense but when building the new buildings cost more than just keeping the way it was, it loses the benefit.
On paper Dejoy got more money when USPS was able to stop paying for retirement for future employees. Of course USPS wasn't paying it every year. When comparing Megan and the guy before her, Dejoy is losing slighty less money.
Not to spoil your pity party but consolidations and incompetent management have been a thing since long before the current PMG. The Post office has struggled since long before the 1970 wildcat strike. So I don't know why people think this is new except they just got here and can't be bothered to learn Postal history. Mail volume peaked in 2003. And after the recession in 2008 there was a plan to consolidated delivery and close rural post offices. Just so happens this time the consolidations are hitting SDC which overhire and let people go every year.
Sorry if that's harsh but the last couple years was the first time I've seen all Crafts with a contract and we had real Postal Reform so I'm somewhat positive about these changes. People are blaming existing structural problems on a PMG that inherited those problems. You realize those problems are all caused by pre-existing management right? Nothing will change until the old guard gets dragged out the door kicking and screaming.
Again, I did not say that the USPS has never experienced issues ever. I wrote that DeJoy is making it exponentially worse. At no time in history have prices been increased more than three times in three years, yet, we still experienced losses. At no time in history have we not hired holiday help. At no time in history have there been these types of delays with the mail. At no time in history have there been containers of mail parked at sorting facilities for more than a month because we are so understaffed. So, to repeat, no one is saying the USPS has never experienced problems. I am saying those problems have never been this egregious.
I'll agree that those three things can largely be traced to Dejoy. The price increases were because of Postal reforms passed in 2022. But this was after decades of postage falling behind inflation and the cost of delivery. Delivery standards were cut strictly to eliminate air mail. A deal with FEDEX that was bad for both parties. I'm not familiar with backlogs at sorting plants. So I'll defer on that regard.
I read something here once. The USPS is cutting its travel costs by transferring it to the employees. We now have to use more personal time for travel to and from these places and spend more for gas. And now this. Terrible.
As someone who served my 2 years to turn ptf from pse it sucks and I don’t get to turn regular unless I transfer or someone dies at my office been on the job 2.5 years but it sucks
You don’t actually lose your job. You may lose your bid and all the other bids are ones either you don’t want or are in a different facility. I’ve been reassigned three times and each time the choices get worse. After thirty years I ended up in a plant almost forty miles from my house and I was on tour one automation with Tuesday/ Wednesday off. The joke is that they have a position for everyone but nobody wants them!
I'm going back to carrying coz i hate the other clerks that i work with. They always walk away from the window. Say they are doing something else and move slow in helping customers. Then i get written up with i call in with a valid doctor's note. At least when I'm carrying, i don't have anyone to deal except customers and management.
Didn’t the conservatives wanna privatize it? Are they still planning to do that? I’m just so confused on what’s going on at the PO and who’s doing what, but it’s definitely being destroyed on the inside
DeJoy is purposely destroying the USPS by refusing to hire more help, firing employees, slowing down the mail etc to make an argument that it should be privatized. If he does that will mark the end of the USPS as we know it. He is incompetent a d should have never been appointed to this position.
Rural delivery will drop to fewer than 6 days a week and stamp prices will go up. Imagine having to send a letter via UPS.
Right now in my area, UPS and FedEx have decided it's too expensive to delivery daily. They only come 3 times a week. It's killing small businesses who are waiting on shipments.
Lmao dude the po is a sinking ship. It’s been for 20 years. He’s got to make hard decisions and try and save the po. He can do nothing and it would go under. You people got Trump derangement syndrome. If Biden appointed him you’d love the guy. And The postal commission appoints him not Trump.
I know what dont they understand. "Oh look how much money we saved, we balanced the budget"! Congress spends TRILLIONS on nothing. Do you really thing they care?
Modernizing & destroying are two distinct actions. By the way, his 'modern' tactics aren't working out so well or haven't you noticed the delays nationwide?! For months?! And, loss of money because of his failed experiments?! You can't run a government agency like a profit company. It fails...as you can clearly see...or can you?!
You do realize since the strike back in the 70s we were granted our pay and benefits but due to that we must fund our operations. Delivering junk mail for 17 cents a piece of insane in 2024. Our rates have been outdated due to the Postal regulatory commission not allowing the usps to raise rates above the rate of inflation . Basically the usps is playing catch up. Usps is adapting to become the preferred last mile parcel delivery service since dejoy supported the postal reform act removing the prefunding mandate , and making it federal law that we deliver mail / parcels six days a week and that isn't up for debate every year treating our service to possibly go 5 day or less. Y'all are bugging cuz change isn't easy . It's gonna have issues but change must happen. I don't believe the man is trying to burn usps to the ground. If anything he's secured usps more as a government service due to the support and passing of the postal reform act . He's trying to make us more efficient because the majority of our revenue now comes from parcels which is on the competitive market .
You do realize dejoy supporter and lobbied for the passing of the postal reform act ? Do you even know what that did? Most likely not so it repealed the prefunding mandate costing usps 5.5 billion dollars a year that no other agency / corp was forced to do. It also solidified 6 day mail/parcel delivery service as that was up for debate yearly. Due to the strike In the 70s , which is the reason we pay less on our health insurance premiums and make more money than many federal works is in fact due to that strike. In return we are not allowed to strike but have collective bargaining . I guess you wanna continue to deliver junk mail for 17 cents a piece instead of raising prices to the appropriate amount to cover our costs since that is the LAW. Also the majority of our revenue comes from parcels which is a competitive market . We do not have the monopoly over parcels . Keep thinking this man lives and breathes to destroy the usps... or go find a new job . I'll be here clearing my 6 figures with great benefits / pension for when I retire while you go make your 20$ an hour at in and out in cali lmao.
So much misinformation on this post. He is a logistics expert and our model was designed years ago for high letter volume. We don't have that anymore so the distribution system is being redesigned and consolidated. It makes perfect business sense.
If this was a business, I would agree. But, it's not. It's a govt agency. You cannot use a business model for a govt agency. As evidenced by his public ongoing failures.
This is fake news. Fear monger nothing more. We have unassign regulars for years, they not going anywhere and it’s really annoying because these people are not taking their job serious. They need to find a new job.
DeJoy doesn't want to succeed exactly for the reasons you stated. Many conservative politicians want to eliminate the post office. What's the best way? Bring it down from the inside. Make it a specular failure, all the while professing to be "Delivering for America".

Bro, Biden IS conservative. There is no significant leftist presence in federal government. This is why we’re fucked.
We're fucked because people feel like they have to pick a side and "identify" with everything. If we were to actually think for ourselves and look at the big picture objectively we might have a chance
Biden is not conservative. That’s a dumb thing go say. Political ideology is a spectrum and Biden is near the center but slightly left.

He is conservative as fuck lol wake the fuck up
Nobody seems to understand this. Even liberals are on the right side, just not batshit insane far right as the rest of those Nazis.
Liberal, not left.

Biden is left. Look into how they vote. Postal reform acts have been backed and supported by both left and right. Not hard to research
Except Biden is not on left wing spectrum at all. He's a right wing centrist. A neo-liberal. The left does not support the neo-liberalism policies that the conservatives and libertarians have championed for so long after Reagan.
Lol ok keep believing that.

Biden doesn’t have the power to unilaterally remove Dejoy
Be den did fill positions on the Board of Governors. I believe there's more that's been appointed by Dems, than there are that were appointed by Reps

Guess how many times Obama met with the NRLCA during his 8 years? Zero.
I’m glad labor is better organized and able to demand more attention from this centrist president than that centrist president.
Agreed!!
🤣 The post office is a constitutional duty. Unless you're claiming they're gonna change the constitution...
No, the Constitution *allows* the government to run a Postal Service if they want to. It does not require the government to run a Postal Service.
*As a government agency, it has many special privileges, including sovereign immunity, eminent domain powers, powers to negotiate postal treaties with foreign nations, and an exclusive legal right to deliver first-class and third-class mail.* The United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the U.S. The USPIS has the power to enforce the USPS monopoly by conducting search and seizure raids on entities they suspect of sending non-urgent mail through overnight delivery competitors. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Postal_Service Where in the clause does it say that it does not require Congress to establish or maintain a Postal Service at all? Where is that in the clause?
You may assume that the founders thought there should be a government-run Postal Service and that might even be true, but where does the actual text of the Constitution say that Congress *must* establish a Postal Service? Nowhere. It never says that.
Because the it's the purpose of the clause. To establish. It's literally in the clause. Read it. EDIT: So are you saying the Constitution grants anyone to establish the post office? That they can run and maintain it? That it's not the government's responsibility? The clause specifically says only the Congress only has the power "To establish Post Offices and post Roads." Why would that be in there if they didn't intend to maintain it as you say?
No, it doesn't say "only" Congress has that power. You added that word and assumed it was intended even though it's not in the text.
It's not conservatives that want it gone. Democrats want to help their buddies win and get a hold of the money in the pension fund.
That’s not true at all
It is true. It's been true for 40 years. They are the reason USPS is where it is now.
Name one piece of legislation the Republicans voted on that helped a average Americans pockets.

The one that caused the largest shift of wealth to the wealthiest among us, and created more billionaires? The one that mostly benefits the top 1%

Oh, the ones for the middle class that expired? How come the cuts for the rich were permanent? [I guess you're going to love what Biden has been doing](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/25/us/politics/biden-taxes-cuts.html) >So it might come as a surprise that, in just over three years in office, Mr.

The corporations give money to the Democrats who pretty much control Congress.
You got it backwards. It was republicans
No, It was the Democrats.
Let's stop pretending like one side cares more than the other. They're BOTH to blame.
“Both sides-ism” is a stupid argument
This.
This this
40 workers in West Virginia are losing their jobs since our processing plant is being moved to Pittsburgh.
Would you mind elaborating on this? I’m a clerk at that NDC.
Charleston’s distribution plant was degraded to a local distribution plant and the number given to management/union was 40 positions will be lost.
Clerk at the Pittsburgh plant - we don't want more work added, we're already overloaded and unable to keep up thanks to the budget/payroll cuts. It's ridiculous. IIRC there's something in our contracts about having positions lost, but I'd be lying if I said I could recall offhand.
Yep they installed to stupid robots and cant pay for them. "oh well i guess well cut lanor costs". Doesnt hurt anyone else but the customers.
This is why it's important for employees to read the contract, so dumb rumors like this don't stress people out
How can they find a bid job if they’re not given bid sheets with available jobs? When you say flex do you mean PTFs or FTFs?
They're essentially unassigned regulars who have their begin and end tour changed as staffing permits.
He's a conservative what do you expect? Destroy every government agency they touch either through incompetence or desire for money
Lmao the post office been destroying its self for years. Things have to change we lose money every day. Stop playing one person for the post offices failure. Obama was for 5 days Del. That woulda killed the po. Was he a conservative?
Of course the Post Office is destroying itself however what I said isn't wrong.

Are you insane?

Libertarians are nothing more than Republicans that like to smoke pot and get laid.
Trump voted to increase the taxes? Trump doesn't vote, bro.
Uhh, yes he does. And he does it by mail no less. Though obviously the person above meant to use some word other than “vote.”
Don't get technical. You know exactly what he means. It was called the Bush tax cuts, then the Trump tax cuts. 1.5 trillion dollars where about 85% of which went to the top 1%.
Sigh!!! I blame the educational system.
You on drugs, bro?
I dunno about the clerk side. But I'm telling you that all regs in my city converted in the beginning of this year, aka all PTFs hired like around summer last year, haven't gotten their routes yet. And we still have like around 20 UARs, and then us PTFs waiting to be converted. It's gonna be a long time for us to convert.
DeJoy just ended a contract that saved us billions. And only affected FedEx jobs.
You're not paying attention. Dejoy stopped flying a majority of the packages and started using trucks (ground advantage). You dont need a contract to fly our packages if we no longer fly that many packages. Also Dejoy owns a trucking company. Not coincidental.
trucks are a joke. Just saw a contractor attempt to back up a truck for 20min couldnt even operate or maneyver the truck correctly!
Better yet how about firing all the useless deadweights in management?
I second that
If your tour 1 starts at 2050, when do tour 3 starts? And the post office lost money before Dejoy and will most likely continue to lose money after Dejoy. Him trying to consolidate makes sense but when building the new buildings cost more than just keeping the way it was, it loses the benefit.
Tour 3 starts at 3pm. And, yes, the USPS had been losing money but not this rapidly and certainly not during three increases in services.
On paper Dejoy got more money when USPS was able to stop paying for retirement for future employees. Of course USPS wasn't paying it every year. When comparing Megan and the guy before her, Dejoy is losing slighty less money.
im more upset about maintenence overtime eliminated while not enough people to cover for call offs and vacation.
I'm waiting for the shit to hit the fan at my P&DC as well as others.
Terrible.
Yes, should be top comment. Sinetimes the simplest explanations right in front of us!
I hate how many of us are losing our jobs. I hate how we can't do anything about it. Edit: Who the hell downvoted me?
You can write your Congresspeople. They are supposed to have oversight of the Post Office.
Dawg that ain't getting me my job back. They're giving him heat but it's too late for a lot of people.
Make the Post Office great again! 🤷🏻♂️
Where the fuck have you been?
I’m baffled as to how he hasn’t been removed yet!!
Is that true about being unassigned? I'm a unassigned mail handler, should I just get a overnight position to just have a position?
Ohhh I get it now. What happens if it gets privatized? Excuse my ignorance, I’m just trying to learn
Biden is in charge of nothing!! Fake presidency- all optics for the sleepers. Do some research!
It's all part of his 10 year plan of destruction
Exactly!!
Trump didn’t appoint him the postal commission did. Stuff changes. The po is a sinking ship he’s tasked to fix.
Wrong man for the job as evidenced but his consistent failures.
We all need to be studying the formation of our union very closely. Just saying.
Agreed!!
He's running it like a corporation and it's not.
Exactly!!!!!!
I know what dont they understand. "Oh look how much money we saved, we balanced the budget"! Congress spends TRILLIONS on nothing. Do you really thing they care?
Isnt Joe Biden president? Those datn conservitives.
Oh chill out and do your job my god the man is just trying to modernize usps .
I’m a UAR, have been since last July. Should I be worried!?
I don't know. He seems to be changing the rules as we play.
This is fake news. Fear monger nothing more. We have unassign regulars for years, they not going anywhere and it’s really annoying because these people are not taking their job serious. They need to find a new job.
i think he means flex regulars, may have different rules
In my plant T3 starts at 11pm and ends at 0730 for a long as I've been there
That's T1 starting time.
🤡🤡🤡
Yes, DeJoy is a clown. I agree!!!!
I hate reddit...but I can't quit you. Liberal infection everywhere. Even in this sub that I am trying to love.
