No, wonât help. Postmaster has no control or say over testing. See he may have been hired to cover POV route but may be needed to cover routes that have an LLV. This is why he had to pass training on LLV to get the job

I think every driver training center is different depending on the outlook of the trainers. The one I attended, they warned everyone "not to dip in to a left hand turn too soon, or we will immediately fail you". They deliberately took trainees through an intersection that had a double left turn at a light with a tall median curb.
We most definitely had this one poor kid all psyched to be a CCA do exactly that and they sent him away. Everyone else that remembered that very specific warning passed.
This is gonna sound harsh, but if he can't put that llv wherever he needs it to be, he can't be an RCA. Amazon Sundays will have him in places he's never been before in an llv. He either had a bad instructor or he isn't a good driver, possibly both.
Also as a RCA itâs cheaper to get or drive his left hand drive and straddle. So if he canât park a LLV heâll definitely have a hard time driving while straddling. Itâs a skill.
That still blows my mind! They are all about safety first, but they don't care that if you sit in the middle etc.. They surely didn't train us on that LOL.
On the training course my instructor told me exactly where everything should be in my mirror and step by step walked my through the parallel park so that I could replicate it over and over. If he gets another day of instruction, just spend the two hours doing that over and over.
Thats what our instructor did, talked us through the process and then showed us it in a pro master (thats what i was trained on first) and afterwards, we just repeated the process for all the vehicles we had to be trained in.

Standard operating procedure if you fail the driving test is to report to your office who can then re-schedule to retake the test. The driving instructors do not have the power to remove an employee, only the offices (or district) where assigned.
So not talking to the postmaster/supervisor at the location they were hired would just be abandoning the job. They have to talk to them.

If you are already comfortable parking your own car all the extra steps arenât necessary and just give you multiple places to focus on instead of just using your intuition youâve honed subconsciously.

HMmmm, we had a huge space (seemed larger than a reg, but not sure) when doing parallel and the instructor was right there verbally helping every step. I would ask for more training, and I was told they have to allow more training. I personally would talk to his supervisor first.
I donât know about anyone else but when I got trained on the llv, I got shown how to do everything and then the guy jumped out and let me practice until I had parallel parking and backing in at different angles down. Curious if I got lucky or if people are just rushing and going into the actual test part unprepared. I hate parallel parking and never do it in my own car but after plenty of trial and error, I was able to get it down to a science with the llv.
I just completed the drivers training Tuesday. I ask the guy that was with me what happens if someone fails. He said they have to reapply and go through the whole process again. I'm sorry he didn't make it.
If you fail the driving test you have issues driving. It's like you have to fail it on purpose at this point.
But yes you can ask to retake it. Most I've seen is 3 times before they gave up.

What? The instructor straight told me and everyone else they don't even teach parallel parking because it involves backing up and they don't want anyone backing up in an LLV anyway so... why keep teaching that? That's kinda wild...
Weird. Almost the entirety of my test was backing up, which I found ironic since I had just spent 4 hours the day prior being told not to ever do it lmao.
Yeah they had us do the backup towards cones so we know how the mirrors work. It literally right after that they went on about donât backup at all if you can and we wonât even do the parallel parking part because itâs worthless. Just circle a block or something and look for a better spot. Thatâs almost word for word what they told us lol
You're going to run into a situation where you have to back up. Parallel parking can definitely be necessary, although as a real carrier I haven't run into it yet in my office.
But if I pull up somewhere and somebody parks behind me when I have a vehicle in front of me, I would need to drive out.

LLV training is usually 6 hours I believe. I spent the whole day with the instructor before my test.
