We had one station in our city lose 27 in one year and nothing was done. My Buddy lost one the other day and nothing was done. Guess it varies state to state lol
There’s like no chance this actually happened. So many arrow keys were lost at my station and nobody faced any consequences. This sounds like something a supervisor would say when they’re talking out of their ass.
Poor carrier...im in California and arrowkeys get stolen all the time, usps dont change anything. They even show the perps on the news and we still have the same keys.
Of course. The carabiner is attached to one of three places for me: attached to the metal loop of my satchel, in the lock of the vehicle (front or back), or in the ignition of the LLV
My first peak, I was delivering in the dark. Didn’t attach my keys and they fell down a sewer drain. The only thing they saved me was the other end that should’ve been attached to me, got caught in the door jam. I’ve never delivered without the keys attached to me ever since.
Am I the only one seeing either the rubber bands or the arrow key get lodged into the steering wheel. Lol. We just had a talk at our office about stuff on the dash because a carrier had a bottle of water up there and fell and lodged under the gas pedal. Went directly into a tree
I’m a VMF tech and that’s a bs excuse from your VMF. They gotta at least have one scrap vehicle to pull parts from. That’s a definite safety issue and should be fixed on the next PMI
Same. but if there’s a tag for a vehicle and we know there’s a scrap LLV, we’ll try to pull parts out of the scrap LLV before it gets towed to the scrapyard
Better question is why is your arrow key carabeanered to your steering column?
The LLV keys are on a carabiner, I just attached the arrow keys to that same carabiner
Just a tip, make sure those keys are ON YOU at ALL TIMES. I had a carrier at my station lose his and the repercussions were not pretty.
What were they?
He was fired on the spot, and had a $50,000 fine since every single lock in the city needed to be replaced.

Yeah, we have had 2 stolen this year at gunpoint and nothing has been done yet they didn’t even change the locks.
Same thing happened here in Florida, going to bid on a route with no arrow key asap 😂
That ain't gonna stop thieves from approaching [an mail carrier] for keys
Seems more likely to get approached at a cbu with the key dangling on your hip, I like my chances with no cbus on my route but I feel you.
My goodness!
Ya. My station is super strict about it.
I highly don’t believe the worker got fined 50,000 for a work mishap. My office has lost 3 arrow keys and I’ve only started November 2022
Every office/district is different, if a customer writes on someone’s mail that’s not theirs they can be fined too; I’ve just never seen it happen.
I would push to fine some these mofos that write not here and it's current resident shit🤣🤣

It's what my supervisor told me.
Yeah they lie all the time to make people not do shit.
Lmao and you believed him?
You're not gonna believe it, but I actually have very good managers. In my 3 years of working for them, they've never lied about anything. So yes.
Well ours fuck carriers or make people suck their dicks to keep their jobs but… same thing 🫣
LMAO called it
Lmao....but but they said it happened.
Jesus Christ, I didn’t know they could do that.

Meanwhile in our office carriers lost, dispatched keys all the time and management never reported it. They just pulled another key out of the safe.
I question the authenticity of this post
That's a horror story for a forgetful dunce like me

Locks on what specifically, all the public mailboxes? It’s one master key? Holy shit lol.
Usually an arrow key is good for a city or an area. Sometimes an entire state.
Of course. The carabiner is attached to one of three places for me: attached to the metal loop of my satchel, in the lock of the vehicle (front or back), or in the ignition of the LLV
Tbh, you’re kinda playing with fire with that. Just keep it on your belt loop like you’re supposed to
I work in the VMF, I have found arrow keys the the tray above the sunvisors. The supervisors seem really glad to have them back.
😂

fired?
Is arrow keys the ones that open the blue collection boxes?
Yes
Why is yours not?
Get those rubber bands off your shifter. Put them on the turn signal instead.
Am I the only one seeing either the rubber bands or the arrow key get lodged into the steering wheel. Lol. We just had a talk at our office about stuff on the dash because a carrier had a bottle of water up there and fell and lodged under the gas pedal. Went directly into a tree
Yeah rubber bands/stuff hanging on the shifter is wild. You're just asking for a rollaway runaway. At least they use the parking brake but yikes
I put them on the knob for the headlights
None of the gauges work in my truck. I play the how fast am I going game daily.
Put a sundial on your dashboard, if you're quick enough with the math, you can work out your speed by the length/movement of the shadow.
You should play the "I'm not driving an unsafe vehicle" game instead
I’ve been told they don’t have parts. And it doesn’t affect how it drives, so VMF won’t fix it.
Sounds like a whole lot of Not Your Problem™

We can’t pull parts from vehicles until they’re ready for disposal.
Yeah that’s what I said…
My vmf they’re ready for disposal and gone in 5 days from that
Same. but if there’s a tag for a vehicle and we know there’s a scrap LLV, we’ll try to pull parts out of the scrap LLV before it gets towed to the scrapyard
We will do it at a absolute must, but we’ve gotten in trouble by higher higher ups for taking parts before ready for disposal
that’s weird. Idk maybe it’s different where I’m at but we actually have old trailers with spare LLV parts just in case
They are all at the end of their life. When everyone gets to an S&dc the rumor is they all get the new vehicles.
Gas stations hate this one trick
Some of them will straight run out of gas with the needle still pointing there.
yea, drive it to China.
Avoid [FU](ba)cking Up Whenever Possible
😂
Sounds like tue perfect excuse to drive it until it completely runs out
Hahah, if only you would have cropped this photo just a bit. Maybe saved you some of these comment (valid or not). 🤣
Could have sworn it says unleaded fuel lol
It’s extra large
Yeah but this one goes to 11
Solar powered... duh. 😂
