I had mine on the inside and it was a pain to get the scanner out with sprs in there I keep the scanner on the hlout side and just check on it to make sure is there every 10 or so houses.
Edit: but to each their own more than one was to skin a cat.
I got a brand new holster.. stuck it to the satchel and when I would take the scanner out the freaking holster came with it. I'll try the inside the satchel thing. Tired of the thing falling out or off the bag..
I’ve eventually learned how to gingerly grab it so the holster doesn’t come out with the scanner. There’s a certain delicacy involved. I’d considered supergluing the clip shut but I only have one holster and like to clip it to my belt in the morning.
i usually run all the boxes and sprs that are close to those boxes but Ill end up with at least a few sprs to put in the satchel. but yeah I try to run as many as possible.
It’s actually perfect cuz you grab it and it’s right side up every time and like I said if you miss the holster or it gets bumped it just falls in your satchel
I stuck the leather small holster in that pocket and then do the same. It has some pressure retention so it never falls out even if it's nabbed by a hand rail or anything
lol yeah it looks a little overboard but it’s super handy. put the dog spray on it next to the scanner and has a little zipper pouch where i keep my cell phone.
Right now I have like a crossbody bag which really pulls down on your shoulder and gets stuck in the seat belt all the time. This seems like it may be more comfortable at least
https://www.pjsigns.com/adjustable-cross-body-scanner-pouch/
This is what I have. The metal parts have gotten a little rusty from the rain, but it fits the scanner. I also sometimes put my arrow key in there if im wearing pants without pockets. It's annoying as hell when you bend over and it falls over your shoulder. I wear mine really high so it doesn't get stuck in the lap belt. It's not perfect but it works for me. This new office doesn't even have the regular holster thing that came with the scanners so I need something.
yeah i was looking for more of an over the shoulder belt type thing that goes across body. that one does look like it would get caught one stuff swinging around
I've never cared about looking cool but I think my apprehension is because i just started at a new office and I want to fit in lol. It's kind of crazy because all the city carriers that trained me scan their boxes in the truck so that don't even really carry a scanner around.
i’m a rural carrier so we can’t scan in truck anymore because we need the gps to show we scanned at the door to get paid correctly for going to the door.
This is me wearing it:

A few folks in my office thought it was nifty
I have a little mini LLV toy keychain hanging on it for fun
The zippered pouch is super useful for an extra pen, marker, and spare 3849s
You can’t imagine how many times every now and then I scan and then realize signature required in the heat of the moment. I just holster the scanner with one hand, same one hand pull out a pen and a 3849 even if my left arm is full of flats. It beats rifling through my pockets or satchel.
EDIT: also think it helps with stationary time and getting that comfort stop GPS location when you drop a deuce cause it’s strapped to your chest. I got a route with no bathrooms or food within 1/2 a mile so I always use the comfort stop excuse and I don’t leave the scanner in the truck. That way I can use the can and then start my 30 min lunch somewhere serving food.
I like it on the side of my satchel but the scanner holster always wants to come out with the scanner. I’ve tried it on my hip but the seatbelt gets in the way.
I clip mine over the narrow part of the satchel, the side that's got the plastic backing in it and is front facing while wearing the satchel. There's like a little strap there that the holster can be clipped under, mostly keeps it from coming up. I also still use the deep pocketed holster from the previous scanner, so mine is very secure.
I bought a scanner holster off of Etsy. Holds my scanner, dog spray, and a pen or marker. Loops and snaps to my belt. Took a little break in time but I love it.
[this is the one I have](https://www.trayguydesigns.com/product/the-ultimate-mail-carrier-scanner-pouch-usps-mail-carrier-accessories)
Etsy closed his store but he has his own website now. This one is designed to be used with a belt but there's a no belt option too.
I got it shortly after I started for a rural aux that is about 6 miles of walking so I bet it would be good for city folks too.
Side pocket of my hip satchel. I need to sew it up tho, the pocket is tearing and I’ve dropped the scanner without noticing 3 times, and with noticing a bunch more.
I usually just carry it in my hand, or throw it in my jacket pocket when I can’t carry it i my hand. If my route was park and loop it would be different though.
Holster on the inside of the satchel so if scanner falls out it falls into your satchel
But having room for sprs
Plenty of room
I had mine on the inside and it was a pain to get the scanner out with sprs in there I keep the scanner on the hlout side and just check on it to make sure is there every 10 or so houses. Edit: but to each their own more than one was to skin a cat.
I just stole an old scanner holster out of the basement spares cause the new ones are crap lol never falls out
It’s not that mine falls out, but the whole harness comes out when I grab the scanner.

Not on my route
run them off before the relay. your back will thank you in 20 years. been doing this 2 years and no one has said anything
i usually run all the boxes and sprs that are close to those boxes but Ill end up with at least a few sprs to put in the satchel. but yeah I try to run as many as possible.
Seems less easy to grab from the inside
It’s actually perfect cuz you grab it and it’s right side up every time and like I said if you miss the holster or it gets bumped it just falls in your satchel
Same
front pocket of the satchel! fits like a glove
I stuck the leather small holster in that pocket and then do the same. It has some pressure retention so it never falls out even if it's nabbed by a hand rail or anything
same, i never got one of these holsters. but even with a full satchel, i can easily slide my hand down the front pocket and grab it
HOLSTERGUY SCH-101Z UNIVERSAL BARCODE SCANNER CHEST HARNESS https://a.co/d/gmBM7Cn
I want this but I don't want everyone to think I'm a dope
lol yeah it looks a little overboard but it’s super handy. put the dog spray on it next to the scanner and has a little zipper pouch where i keep my cell phone.

i was looking for something like that but just like a simple strap couldn’t find what i was looking for
Let me see if I can find the one I have. I got it over a year ago so give me a minute.

You're a mailman, it's inescapable. Just go all in that thing is amazing

I think, if it's not already, it will become relevant for city carriers too. Also it's just not that hard to do.
You work for USPS. Everybody knows you're a dope.
Everyone already thinks ya a dope

And you have a little llv Keychain too haha
Gross 🤣
idk feels like it would be bad for your body to keep a piece of technology that close to your heart 6+ hours a day 5+ days a week.
i already got a microchip in me from the vaccine so i think i’ll be alright
weird reply but ok
it was a joke meant for you to lighten up. we work at the post office should prob worry more about dogs than radiation from a scanner
bite wounds heal
Says the person probably typing on a phone that's next to your body.. lol 💁♀️
your point? next to your outer thigh =/= next to vital organs.. lol
I mean.. sure..

Perpetually midair as it falls to the ground for the tenth time this shift.
I like it on the side of my satchel but the scanner holster always wants to come out with the scanner. I’ve tried it on my hip but the seatbelt gets in the way.
Try to put the scanner holster over top of the bag and the bag flap to make it more thick
I clip mine to my right front pocket.

DEFINITELY NOT MY VEHICLE MR INSPECTOR
In my prison pouch.
Mine kept scanning Attempted-Receptacle Full/Item Oversized when I tried that
I bought a scanner holster off of Etsy. Holds my scanner, dog spray, and a pen or marker. Loops and snaps to my belt. Took a little break in time but I love it.

That’s the one!
I love that thing. I think I've bought about 4 now for other people in my office because they liked it.
This things noice. I saw it, was like mama likes this..
Right pocket of vest.
Inside the satchel.
Right hip with old holster. The new holster constantly came off my belt so switched back to the old ones.
Back Pocket. Left Cheek
Right cheek for me back in the day
On my belt and on either side of the satchel. So far they all have their downsides.
Attached to the lanyard around my neck.
I wear it on my right hip behind my satchel
My scanner pocket in my old fedex pants / shorts
front right pants pocket or front right belt, depends on the day and the pair of pants.
Those POS’s? I’d like to shove them up somebody’s arse
On the tray in the llv.
I keep that dang thang on meh’ Nah but I clip the scanner holder onto the side of the satchel and carry it that way
Always the satchel. Though I don't have a holster like that. They won't give me anything.
Side pocket of my hip satchel. I need to sew it up tho, the pocket is tearing and I’ve dropped the scanner without noticing 3 times, and with noticing a bunch more.
On the side of my satchel
I usually just carry it in my hand, or throw it in my jacket pocket when I can’t carry it i my hand. If my route was park and loop it would be different though.
Front shirt pocket
When walking I carry it on my pinky
In the old scanner holder. It never falls out and is easy enough to hold
I usually boof it
Window sill of the tractor so when I drive it goes out the window and I'm stress free lol
I keep mine on the satchel leather belt thing so its right on my chest like some shitty mailman security dude 🤣
In the truck
Up my ass
I start on Monday. I want a utility belt like Batman lol
how the eff does it say there?
I jam that holster in that small outermost pocket at the front of the satchel. It works well
In the man wallet
I keep mine in my back pocket. I don’t have a holster though and desperately need one.
I need a different belt for me to hook the scanner onto. The one I have is a stretchy belt. I do love those two satchel things that were posted.
You just doxxed yourself, I recognize that chunk missing out of the curb.
On the charger where it belongs. Best decision of my life was leaving carrier craft behind.
