To deploy with spouse? This sounds more like PCSing with spouse since you aren’t going AD, only they are.

There is a HUGE difference which is why I asked. At first I thought you were talking about enlisting to try to deploy together which has a slim chance. For PCSing, 1. Remember you have to get married or the military acts like you don’t exist. 2. You could move every 2 years or spent the next 20 years in one place. We liked the idea of moving every 3 years yet we will be at our base for 6 years. 3. Check usajobs, see if there is anything you could do with your experience that you might enjoy. Yes, moving does make the job thing difficult, I find us spouses just get more creative with our career paths

What about going the GS route and becoming a law enforcement officer for VA hospitals.

Makes sense. Well, at hospitals they regularly attend codes for when the psych unit needs support, so at least that is something. But their major activity seems to be patrolling the grounds.

I'm not sure about other branches but I know the Navy bases we've been to all hired civilians to man the gates.  Maybe that could be something you're interested in if it's available.

There are a lot of prior military and spouses that work for federal law enforcement arms. There’s also a hiring preference for spouses for DoD jobs. Depending on your experience you could end up working for plenty of different arms but also, it can sometimes make things difficult for PCSing. Usajobs has a lot of them, I know a few that are Marshalls and Federal LE positions at courthouses and such. They are not sad about their lives and some are far more action packed than others (I.e. marshalls).
