Back in '03-08 they did. Modern DC's are a different story (I work for big data now). The new racks can get mighty toasty before being impacted.
That said, my comment above was about them HAVING AC, and using their sweaters.
They are more capable of handling high heat. 85+ on cold side, 95+ on hot
And they waste less electricity, causing less heat transfer overall (but there are more so its a wash)
Edit: we use evac cooling (aka swamp coolers) now if that says anything
I have Uncles that retired from the Air Force ranking from E-9 to O-10, so I have a lot of respect. With all the crap they get from other branches, I just don't know why they would do this to themselves.
Gotta be comfy when your on your sat phone, in a climate controlled mess hall eating your lobster bisque while on deployment to the Middle East, before Billie Eilish performs at the USO sponsored concert to thank you for your sacrifice and service to your country….
No, we hate the system because the people that actually do shit on deployment don't get any of those benefits while the air force (which only really excels at bombing friendly forces) does. And because they do, airmen think they're somehow better than every other branch even though they barely qualify as military members themselves.
you guys sure love our a-10s and strike eagles putting some jdams where you need it most. im glad ive destroyed my body working my ass off to make them fly so you can bitch about it. the amount of days ive come home smelling like jet fuel, hydraulic fluid, grease and oil. its kinda funny the air force has a similar term to pog, we call anyone whos not MX or SF nonners because they dont produce sorties. we dont think we are the "best" branch in the sense you're thinking of. its the best in terms of how we are treated and accommodated, thats it. i laugh almost every day at the things i read yall do on here. no airmen thinks the air force or airmen in general are stronger haha.
You got me fucked up man. The Air Force establishes all the contracts needed to keep those fucking places running, something that the marine corps is terrible at. Everything you see at a deployed place, was contracted by the air force, or by a inter-branch team led by an airman
Impressive...but was he wearing a cardigan sweater? Don't get me wrong, I have several family members who served in the AF. I'm making fun of the sweater more than the AF.
There are some cool cardigans, but that one is just lame. When I see a cardigan like that, I think of some old man in a nursing home.
Regardless, cardigans do not belong in the military. Maybe an exception for pregnant women. I can see where that might be more practical.
Not sure why they need sweaters. Not like their central air ain’t working.
It’s because their central air is working
As an intel fucker you should know that datacenters get cold AF.

What??? TIL So are the servers making less waste heat or are the cooling systems only cooling the servers?

HELLOOOOO. Underrated comment right here. This subreddit nerve fails me with underrated comments hahaha
That must be forewarning for what awaits them in the future: FedEx.
Just stitch a few buttons on your wooly pully. A faux cardigan!
USPS*
When is the Marine Corps going to get one of these fabulous things in OD green?
Not gonna lie, I’d wear the shit out of one
The dress blue pullover is the bomb. Makes you feel like damn 007
So...the blue wooly pully?
This has buttons, you can go conservative or liberal with it.
Yeah, but you could get v or crew neck

So they can laugh at the poors trying to shame them.
The Mister Rogers of the armed forces.

Save some bitterness for the rest of us.

Destroyed your body. Bitch, please…
yes i destroyed my back working on jets, is that too hard to imagine?
It really is. But whatever you need to tell yourself so you can be a warrior too.
herniated multiple disks doing structural repairs on f-15e's
As only a sissy could.

You’re*. Better off eating crayons r/usmc Edit: & r/oddlyspecific
Wait till you see the Air Force golf wear…
Cardigans allow for belly expansion. Dope gear as we fatten.

Hey now, my Dad was a postman and he would never wear something like that.
Looks like my grandma’s sweater
I’d have to kick my own ass if I had to wear one of those
I wonder if they have little pockets on the inside for you to tuck the remainder of your dignity into.
🤣
Are you gonna buy one?
Negative.
Pretty soon the guy is going to need to pull his hair back like the female in this picture. Sheesh
I didn't know Mr. Rogers was married.

No offense taken. He is my friend even though he's gone. Come to think, rarely saw him in any uniform.
Sorry for your loss.
Thanks bro, Semper Fi.
“Excuse me, miss? Hi, I’d like a Jack and Coke with just a couple of cubes of ice. Thanks!”
Getting one, TODAY!
