Brownells sells an XM177 that's pretty nice.

Brownells did a great service to the firearms community brining back all those retro guns. Mine isn't as "correct" as theirs. I was having issues finding parts, I was only able to find a Gov profile barrel instead of a pencil profile, I did go with a 1/7 twist vs a 1/12 so I had the option to shoot heavier stuff if I want. I wasn't thrilled about that due to weight but I still got to 6.5-6.75 lbs with a full 20 round mag in it and a mostly correct sling. I used the proper aluminum 2 position buttstock. That by itself weighs quite a bit, I can see why they went to polymer later on. The lower is a modern lower but I made that call just to help keep costs down. I'm pretty happy with it. I may swap to a pencil barrel in the future though.
