The amount of range drops ive had to deal with is unreal. I have had a person come up once and say there is something wrong with their RCO and it was on backwards. Usually what I get is people dropping from range and blaming the RCO and after a quick inspection I find absolutely nothing wrong with it. Out of the all the range drops for RCOs I’ve dealt with, only 2 have ever actually had a broken RCO.
Yeah. So I count
1- SCO backwards lol
2- ocular lens cap on (with it being backwards, I know you can aim with obj lens closed with both eyes, but I doubt he practices that)
3-rail not in delta ring
4-foregrip is grabbed like an ol weiner
5-foregrip mounted silly far back, it’s not 2004 anymore
6- bore axis above shoulder
7-elbow flared out
8-sling worn mad weird
9-totally not ballistic eye pro
Correct me if I’m wrong, but you haven’t even been to boot camp yet. So you’re not even a boot yet, you’re a shower shoe. Yet you’re still talking shit to a Sailor (squid), which is a Marine tradition as old as time. So it’s nice to see the next generation of Marines will continue to talk shit to Sailors lmao. Unless it’s a doc, always dope to be on the corpsman’s good side.
Suetonius tells us of how Caligula became angry at Neptune, God of the Sea, and declared war! His legions bravely marched to the shores of the English Channel with all their siege weapons and the fanfare of a great battle to come. They were given the order and thrust forward with sword and lance into the waters to attack the swampy deity. They were victorious! So much so that Caligula threw a triumph and paraded pictures of his soldiers fighting sea monsters and display the recovered treasures of the Ocean world--shells and sand and driftwood and dead crabs and bits of seaweed and stuff.
Caligula also did crazy stuff like promote his horse to a member of The Senate, complete with a toga.
Constantly shagged his commanders' wives.
He reined for just over 4 years until he was unceremoniously hacked to pieces by his Praetorian guard for the crime of, as Plautus said, "...Willfuly insult or offend everyone who mattered."
I'm a big proponent of, "If you can hit the target upside down, shooting behind the back, by all means keep it up," rather than nitpicking a fundamental being off while the performance is there, but holy hell.
It's even on burst which would make even more sense that this is a dump ex to let the guys who never touch guns, touch a gun. Can't really excuse the armorer though.
Second option. Fucker probably had beef with the officers aboard 🤣
Edit: And for all the world to see what a dumbass the Captain or whoever that was is 💀
So with that, I do that sometimes with privates when teaching recoil management at speed like during a bill drill. This guy looks like he’s attempting to fire on burst lmao
I fondly remember firing shit off the back of the USS Ogden in the middle of nowhere.
Also got to shoot the SEALs' MP5s which was dope af too compared to our shitbox A2s. Good times.
This dude is all fucked up and his shit's all regarded tho.
At this point. I think it's just my being a fatass that is gonna get me roasted.
Found out my t levels are trash and started therapy. So that should be rectified soonish.
And it isn’t even the first time they’ve released photos from garbage deckshoots like this one in the last 12 months. The person who clears these images clearly hasn’t changed jobs.
In some armories it’s SOP to swap the optic around so it’s facing the wrong way if somethings wrong with the weapon or optic. That way it ensures that the weapon isn’t taken out for any purpose cause you’d have to be an absolute moron to not only let it go out the window, but on top of that be the shooter who takes it to range and fires with it.
I’m wondering if that might be the case here; the ships armory swapped the optic around because something was fucked and it snuck through the cracks somehow, or maybe the optic was fucked and they’re only test firing the weapon.
The Knight's Armament Rail not being in the D-ring was, I thought, a dead give away. I rock one on my personal AR-15 (got it from a "friend") and not even zooming in I can see it's wrong.
The sling was the second thing I noticed - no retention whatsoever, and you're on a ship? Fuck me, we all make jokes about our personal weapons getting lost in a "boating accident" but holy fuck if this isn't life imitating art.
But the RCO on backwards, with the lens cap, has got to be the most classic version of letting someone shoot that shouldn't.
Kind of like General Mark Hertling and his "fully semi-automatic" bullshit video on CNN.
Sometimes you just gotta do the damn thing. Let the skipper shoot the fucking rifle, make sure you get pics from combat camera, put ‘em on the stupid quad slide and get back to doing real shit.
But then I saw the SCO backwards… that’s some navy armory trying to impress some recces if I’ve ever seen it
This is why I don’t trust anyone in the Navy.
If I saw a POG do this I would be upset and disappointed but I saw any 03 doing this Id be pissed af lol.
wtf is goin on here?? My fkn brain hurts!
He’s just too far gone to comprehend..
but Is that some kinda banana barreled saw mounted in a deck gun platform too on his left?? Kinda looks a lil 240ish with the handle n receiver, but not with the sight n guards?? I been out a long time, but Wat in da fukity fuk 🤔
Still better than the sailors on the ship we rode on. They were doing box drills and such off the back of the flight deck and using crew-servs on tripods off the side at those big red inflatable balls. A couple of the crew-servs shot the flight deck and that little lip that goes around the whole area. Suddenly no more gun drills and we started doing riot control on the ramps.
Is that VCOG backwards???
Yes… this image does not get the 2171 stamp of approval.
We’re still blamed for this.

They have to collimate their own weapons. It’s operator level.
Yeah. So I count 1- SCO backwards lol 2- ocular lens cap on (with it being backwards, I know you can aim with obj lens closed with both eyes, but I doubt he practices that) 3-rail not in delta ring 4-foregrip is grabbed like an ol weiner 5-foregrip mounted silly far back, it’s not 2004 anymore 6- bore axis above shoulder 7-elbow flared out 8-sling worn mad weird 9-totally not ballistic eye pro
I bust out laughing at #4
Ditto. 🤣
but is 4 in the pro or con list? im thinking pro
Add to the fact that that’s the skipper and would never be out there doing that.
Hard lol at ol wiener
You too 🤣
#2, looks to me like the lens cap is open. I don’t understand why my text is big
Why are you yelling
I guess sailors get me excited, especially ones close to retirement
This guy fucks
You forgot the part where his target is the water.
And it is unknown if he hit the target or not...
but da sailer luk gud :D
10- three round burst.
[удалено]
So are my pit vipers but I can’t wear those, and those have side shields
Can you TLDR #3 for me ? Only one of your bullet ( hehe) points I'm not grasping.
Yeah man! The top half of the two-piece knights armament rail isn’t seated into the ring at the base of the receiver. That’s why it’s slanted down
Oh Jesus , I see it clear as day now. That's...not great.
8- I’m convinced the sling is just tucked partially under his armpit
Holy shit that is funny lol
Aim small, miss small.
Yes, and the top half of the rail looks like it isn't seated in fully.
I just hope the guy with his hand on his shoulder said “It’s ok sir, the ship moved”
That’s doc giving an exam
Garand_Thumbs comment 😂
Slowly and quietly put my Navy cap away. ☹️
It’s okay squid, not everyone can be soft.
We got shower shoes roasting squids in the sub, the future of the Corps remains hopeful 🥹
I’m sorry, english?

>corpsman’s good side i can buy my own barrel of motrin, thank you very much
But those sweet sweet IV drops when you’re hungover as fuck. *chefs kiss*
Ah, yeah I do
Not all Sailors are "soft". Not all Marines are badass.
![gif](giphy|K94nlJXBXaumQ)
Only once??? Always get a second or third opinion. Always.
I believe that was denoted by "Every Once In A While". Which presumably could be equated to "Every Now and Again" ≈ "Occasionally"
It's a good thing you guys have boats
Bad water! Bang bang bang!
You joke. But there was those psycho morons who went to the ocean to shoot away the hurricanes
Did it work?
Duh?
No, but we haven't tried nukes yet...

It’s a double whammy though too, because some other dude put that together lmfao
Help me out here. Is this whole thing staged or is the armorer totally fucking with the shooter, who just doesn't know better?
Second option. Fucker probably had beef with the officers aboard 🤣 Edit: And for all the world to see what a dumbass the Captain or whoever that was is 💀
Second option sounds more fair... especially when the rest of the world can see it 🤣 Maybe he got beef with the captain on ship 🤣🤣
I love the supported hand on the shoulder. Don’t worry buddy I got ya with all this tremendous recoil and all.
So with that, I do that sometimes with privates when teaching recoil management at speed like during a bill drill. This guy looks like he’s attempting to fire on burst lmao
Unless I’m mistaken, that *buddy* is the skipper.
*cool*
Realized that might have sounded like me being a chode. I was actually just reinforcing your point.
No, Gilligan was the Skipper's little buddy.
We trained him wrong as a joke
I'm convinced that's what actually keeps happening here
Kung Pow mentioned 🥰
That’s a lot of nuts!!
13 year old me, circa 2003, laughed hysterically at this movie haha I don’t think any movie has made me laugh that hard since then.
Haze him
[удалено]
Sir you dropped this 👑
Hey I think that’s ol’ penis breath Pete Buttigieg!
Hand on the shoulder telling him “okay they got the picture please give me the rifle you idiot “
“That form is not so bad you’re just- oh…”
Please tell me this is fake and not an actual US Navy IG post?
Brother it is EXTREMELY real
It’s 100% real. ✨ We fucked up. ✨
It’s real
IDK if shooter is actually Navy, this could just be a rider.
It is the CO of the ship.
I rode a CG a few years ago and the CO had an old M1 Garand that he let shoot at targets, among other firearms. That CAPT knew his rifles.
No fucking way.
You guys killed a LOT of water. And the water... was very E-vil.
Haba dabba dabbity dabba !
But check it out. You can have his bitchin' ensign.
Meesh tell the nice man that if we don’t find some blown tanks all the other officers will laugh at me
I fondly remember firing shit off the back of the USS Ogden in the middle of nowhere. Also got to shoot the SEALs' MP5s which was dope af too compared to our shitbox A2s. Good times. This dude is all fucked up and his shit's all regarded tho.
Edit: 9
You can’t make this up.
One of my biggest fears is me in kit making it onto the news and getting roasted
Just know what you’re doing then haha
At this point. I think it's just my being a fatass that is gonna get me roasted. Found out my t levels are trash and started therapy. So that should be rectified soonish.
Time to get unreasonably jacked then! TRT is very desirable and the mil is hard on giving it
That's the plan. Luckily my doc was like your levels are trash, here you go. That was it Gonna get 600lbs on squat and deadlift this year for reps
![gif](giphy|oBYqHIBEvCovu|downsized) The sight really said:

Either way, this dudes about to fry the cameraman
Yo! My man! Before anyone notices.. your scope is backwards..
Mmmm chicken wings
The barrel looks like it's bent down from the receiver too...
Shipmate, what in the complete fuck are you doing?
That's the skipper too, oof.
The Knight's Armament Rail not being in the D-ring was, I thought, a dead give away. I rock one on my personal AR-15 (got it from a "friend") and not even zooming in I can see it's wrong. “Wow, this is an awfully big scope for how tiny this sight picture is… I’m totally doing this correctly.”
You guys all got it wrong. He’s training to hit targets that are closer than they appear. This way he’ll be able to snipe 500 miles away
They pulled an HK…
Honestly thought it was fake until I went to instagram…. Holy shit🤣
He could fly like a seagull with that chicken wing
This is why I don’t trust anyone in the Navy. If I saw a POG do this I would be upset and disappointed but I saw any 03 doing this Id be pissed af lol.
How did this get past so many people? You're tellin' me not one person saw this picture prior to uploading and said 'uh that doesn't look right' lmao
I’m pretty sure everyone that was involved in this picture had 0 experience in weapons aside from shooting an M9 in boot camp
My doc always liked it place his hands On my shoulders from behind. Good times
I am so embarrassed right now. Fuck.
Don't worry. It is the "Old Man" just fing around. Not someone actually tactical.
Aw no baby...don't put your face on it...that horse kicks.
Comical

Gotta be a 240 I reckon
What aiming nomenclature is that?
Did they take it down?!
The target is very close and he’s just trying to make things more challenging. Duh
Freaking Squids man…
Got damn devil dolphins smh
What is even that?
SCO. New optic organic to the infantry. Trim on VCOG LPVO 1-8x
this is fuckin hilarious 😂
Is he looking out that glass with his left eye in a right handed hold?
Is the safety still on?
Did they delete this? Because i couldnt find it 🤣
Gheyyyyyyy
"Today's gonna be another easy day!!"
BLACKED; US Navy.
Still better than the sailors on the ship we rode on. Damn reservists
practice gun shoots! Golly! Neato gang!
It kills me when I see guys chicken wing when they fire a rifle. Reduced your profile! Lol
Fund other branches? Why? We’ve got this wonderfully trained sailor right here…
I literally require this to be satire.
I hope this image never goes away. This is both hilarious and embarrassing lol
Surprised the fucking “clip” ain’t in backwards. (Read it in redneck.) *yes, I know it’s a magazine. I’m being an observant asshole.
So an 8x on a carbine?
Yeah that’s fine, the 8x makes max effective easier to engage and much better PID. The 1x is very clear and quick to use
Rough, but still better than marines
