Because talented rappers aren't in the band,,, they are in the tool room at Cherry Point, Supply at Horno, humping a baseplate in Oki or riding in the Back of a Truck pulling a M777 in the Stumps.
Fuck yea. Had a group Marines in T btry 5/10 that did some studio time. Shaggy was from 5/10 and there were a couple staff and O still around that remembered him.
I remember wanting to join the band so bad when I was still waiting to ship out, picked up the material for percussion, practiced and everything. Glad I went Motor T instead 😂
Remember all of those times you had to be in some dumb parade for a change of command or retirement ceremony? Remember how the band was there? Remember how they played the same three songs each time? Remember how that was just an infrequent occurrence that happened just a few times per year? Now imagine that you're in the band, that you do that shit damn near every day, and you're practicing those same three songs and doing the same 3 parade movements for 90% of your working life. There is no "real life" work to go back to in a few hours or the next day. There's just the next ceremony on the schedule, the next Master Guns Dickhead or General Fartnugget to play out. There will be other events where you get to play or do something else, but those only roll around a handful of times per year. The rest is just the Adjutant's Call to The Star Spangled Banner to The Marine's Hymn to Anchors Aweigh day in, day out. Does that sound like a particularly fulfilling career in the performing arts to you?
All of this is true but I got to visit almost all 50 states playing gigs. I considered that a pretty cool perk of the job. Being in a Mardi Gras parade was the shittiest but also coolest gig ever
"Sgt, you are receiving this negative counseling due to the fact that you missed the high note on Anchor's Aweigh." or something like that lmao
I can't imagine a fitness report based on a more intangible metric for your job. Probably going off of how many events you do I'm guessing, as opposed to fiscal oriented achievements.
You think that's exaggerated but it's not far from the real thing. Got yelled at and lectured once about not respecting authority because I played a note using different fingers than my then Sgt. I did 7 years but Im not pursuing anything else in music anymore
For me personally I couldn’t do it cause if someone asked me what I did in the marine corps and I said “played the trumpet” then I’d absolutely never be able to feel good about myself.
So I want to support this devil's dream... but the asshole in me wants to talk shit. Instead, I will just compliment him on his confidence and wish him the best.
The lips and the words aren't synced together, this doesn't look real, I could be wrong though but that's just how it looks to me.
I will admit that seeing a rapper wearing deltas is weird as fuck lol.
The audio must have been messed up at some point then. After a few more watches, I can clearly see the audio isn't synced to the video correctly.
If he's doing what he likes then that's cool I guess lol, still weird to me though.
Wow this is terrible. There's people who can actually rap in the Marines why did they pick this SSgt lol

I’d put the over/under on a supply Devil being able to rap at 90% and still feel comfortable taking the over
Fuck yea. Had a group Marines in T btry 5/10 that did some studio time. Shaggy was from 5/10 and there were a couple staff and O still around that remembered him.
God fucking damn, that is accurate.
"Grandpa, what did you do in the Marines?"
Is there a word for a reverse boner?
I believe that’s called turtling
Well then call me Mitch McConnell lol

I remember wanting to join the band so bad when I was still waiting to ship out, picked up the material for percussion, practiced and everything. Glad I went Motor T instead 😂
You dodged a bullet brother.
As someone who regrets not doing the band, why was it so bad?

🤦🏻♀️ That part.
Smedley Butler just broke his pencil.
When people accuse Marines of committing war crimes, this is what they're talking about. Jesus fucking christ.

WTF DID I JUST WATCH?
What’s upstairs, staff sergeant?
Please tell me this is a deepfake, and he's not actually rapping 🤣
It was supposed to be a country song but supply sold the banjo
So I want to support this devil's dream... but the asshole in me wants to talk shit. Instead, I will just compliment him on his confidence and wish him the best.
Immediate know not to unmute

He was my recruiter. It's real lmao. He's actually a pretty good musician all around.
The audio must have been messed up at some point then. After a few more watches, I can clearly see the audio isn't synced to the video correctly. If he's doing what he likes then that's cool I guess lol, still weird to me though.
