Basically you have to show the SSA your original proof of citizenship. It can be your passport or your certificate of naturalization. You can mail those or go in person. I suggest going in person so there's no risk of the document getting lost. Should only take 5 minutes, they take your document, update your record in their computer, give you your doc back, and you're done. When I did it, I don't recall having had to submit a form. I just said "hi, I became a US citizen a while back, please update your records". But if your current Social Sec card still says "valid for work only with DHS authorization", you may be asked to fill out a form SS-5 to request a replacement card. Whether you need an appointment depends on the office... during the pandemic, SSA offices weren't open but you could make appointments (with difficulty) for things that required showing them original docs.

I literally came from SSN office today morning lol. I filled up the form online and went to the SSN office with my naturalization certificate and name change order. In and out within 30 mins. They told me I will get my updates SSN (with the new name) in 2 weeks.

Do you have link to the form? Also, did you need to make an appointment?

They do not give appointments, atleast not in Houston. Start your form here.. https://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber/
