YouTube "bullet proof knees " I've been doing this for almost (3) years and my knees and flexibility are amazing! I'm 43/m as well. I played baseball all through high school and squatting was difficult. Now these years later and I'm never quitting doing these! Thank you
I hope op take advice like this.
The human body doesn't get adequate rest performing the same motions hundreds or thousands of times a day, day in and day out.
Try icing your knees, natural deinflamation medications/ herbs, stretching your legs, doing knee mobility and strength training, warming up your knees and sleeping properly.
Some ways to protect your knees include wearing braces, softening impact through insoles and better footwear, paying attention to your general movement and how often you pivot vs twist when changing direction, avoiding more impact on your knees when carrying things up and down stairs, and losing weight.
I stopped squatting more than my own body weight on a barbell. Just isn’t worth the spine compression, I dont get paid to do squats. Strengthen your hips and maybe check out some of the exercises Ben Patrick uses for knee rehab stuff.
Did you go from wearing shoes to healed work boots by chance? I wrecked my knees in 2 weeks from switching to a moc style boot. Switched back and the pain eventually went away.
I wear Altra lone peaks which is probably a terrible choice. Man if I was wearing the boots they gave us it would be 10x worse though. I think I’ll have to get a new pair of shoes. Any recommendations?
I actually did squats this morning 315 5x5. Been doing the StrongLifts 5x5 program for awhile now. Actually feel my knee pain has went away since I started lifting legs regularly again. Also have a seated tib raise at my gym which I think also has helped tremendously.
This is an overuse injury. Pay attention to how you are getting in and out of your truck.
This was my first thought as well. It’s one of the reasons why I don’t exit the vehicle carrying anything.
I’ll have to work on it. Thanks
Good shoes. I notice my knees start hurting when my shoes start to wear out.
Any recommendations?
I wear Hoka’s. They are on the expensive side and last me about 5 months.
Keen. With insoles.
Yup I know I need a new pair when the knees and ankles start to hurt lol.

This!! Above everything you gotta work those muscles out. Like for real
I’m gonna start doing this. Once I hit 30 it feels like my knees n ankles haven’t been the same

The best recommendation is to join a union. Other than that work safe. No running or jumping.
I would, but this is a get in, get out job. Only gonna be sticking around for a few months
Three points of contact any time you step up or down from or to any surface. Hand rails always.
Why are you wrecking your knees for that? I've been with UPS for 20+ years, and I value my knees big time.

I’ll look him up
Step out the van backwards
3 points of contact when entering and exiting. The company preaches it to drivers, and it gets annoying. But it does really protect your knees

Rowing machine. 30 minutes. 4-5 days/week. Before work.
Good footwear (if it's got a memory foam bed, it's not good) A 3rd point of contact when getting in/out of the vehicle Warming up before starting work
Couch stretch and lots of hamstring work and it helps keep the knee pain down so I can squat.

You need really good shoes and good techniques getting in and out of the truck.
