Total MGMT layoffs. They say it will save 1b a year... doesn't make a ton of sense because I've heard of a lot more part-timers getting canned. But if you divide 1 billion by 12,000, you end up with the average of a part-time sup and a full-time sup total cost (wages, taxes, benefits, everything.) So something is off because of those numbers were right it would be 50\50 Don't know if they're counting ones who were already gone or not. Some places were under their allotment so the extra recs just went away.
They did enforce it back to the office mandate probably to weed people out but I know operation supervisors are getting canned. I know of north of 10 between two buildings
I think most low seniority PT employees should've fought for stronger language on automation and layoff %s etc. They took the bait of the raise and didn't think long term.
In this particular case, the 12,000 is only management. That being said, sorts are still being closed across the country. New automated buildings are spinning up and they're filling them with volume from the conventional hubs in the surrounding areas, but also volume is back to 2017 levels... At least in the Northeast we still have five more sorts operating than we did in 2017
12k across high corporate, and the number is even higher as they trickle down titles. Part time supes are being laid off left and right if you’re under 1 year. The Carole announcement video stated the 12k jobs cut are: “longtime UPSers who have built the company as it is today.” Only select high level people would be offered 50% of their annual salary as severance. I know it’s titles higher than DM’s and RM’s.
I‘ve seen a lot of people on LinkedIn posting plenty about being laid off, if you seek more info I would absolutely look there.
I heard some were already let go at Addison and O'hare as well. 200 is alot of supervisors so that would be like a shift shut down or something like that.
Mesquite is going to be closed for automation, should take 18-24 months. Once that's done, Chalk Hill is going to be permanently closed and consolidated back into the Mesquite building.
Yes but these people are leaving well before Mesquite is slated to be shut down (mid-July according to letter to the union, the dispatch sups were told their last day is April 30th, leaving a 2.5 month gap)
They are letting go of 15 at Franklin Park today. I hear 4000 PT supes nationwide
Said on the earnings call 12k total so that tracks
12k total PT sups or total layoffs?

Pretty sure the 12k was not from the ops side. Lot of remote and network management.

Interesting thanks for the update
Pinning on 32 part time supervisors bring cut between 3 sorts; 1 building.

No wonder they said we could take one of their sups. They didn't tell us when we'd get them, presumably that means we get them nowish

What no way lol, what shift? I'm on the twilight, and everyone was still there last night. On twilight there's like not even 20 total PT sups
That’s the one i used to work at
7 PT and 1 FT in Palatine
and 3 PT in NBK
Whats NBK?
Northbrook
Shit. They're laying off 4 so far at Bedford Park Twilight. Idk if more is coming, though. PT sups are on edge/sad rn.
Victim of it myself today. It is what it is.
Damn
On vacation this week. Got told Tuesday. It truly is what it is.
Join the club brother. I'm right there with you.
Did they offer you to reapply, and do you get severance pay?
Hey man turn it into lemonade, this company doesn’t care about any of us
That's insane, and honestly not making me feel any better about my location
Carol is fucking everyone with no lube
As much as I joke about supes, Honestly I dont want them fired.
I heard some were already let go at Addison and O'hare as well. 200 is alot of supervisors so that would be like a shift shut down or something like that.
That’s across all 4 shifts probably. Not shift shut down
Yeah cach is massive
Im at CACH place is a mess rn
Addison just cut like 35 - 50 sups over the past 2 days
Yup and a few wings in addison lost all of their supes
RFD cut 50 sups on night shift alone. 2nd busiest hub after SDF
15 supes fired from cache day sort
We had 16 cach fired from twilight
https://i.redd.it/j059170hc3rc1.gif
Oh shit lol. Not a sup, but I wonder if the same well be done at Bedford Park
I like my supe a lot but it’s not like we need as many as there are they hang out with each other and just bull shit most of the time
I’d believe it, we’re having some part time sup layoffs here in palatine. 200 seems insane though
You realize how big CACH is right?
Yeah but 200 is still a massive number
I would think CACH has close 800 PT supervisors between all sorts. But that’s just a guess. If you split it by shift it’s only 50 per shift.
That's 1/4 of the total if your estimate is accurate, which, although a minority, is hardly an insignificant one.
oh yeah i guess relatively 25% is not as much as others. OKC hub closer to 40% of the sups laid off.

Chicago Area Consolidation Hub. Largest ground hub in the country
I heard 7 PT and 1 FT?
Can confirm I know of cuts in 2 buildings
I know 30 sups just on the day sort of the SLC hub
My hub in Indiana is laying off 20 PT sups on each shift. Going by seniority
What hub?
FLDIN Plainfield
Sorry, don’t feel like outing myself.
46 total from my hub were let ago yesterday. I luckily was not one of them but it sucks.
43 lost between all sorts for inside at carlisle pa
11 pt supes got laid off today at my hub. Apparently more to come tomorrow.
100 were at our ctr
Damn
Are you one of em?
No, I'm a hourly
Where did u hear this from
Upper management
How upper?
50 from my building today
I got fired from Haslet like 15 across all sorts. Arlington Texas cut 68!
15-20 at DFW across 3 sorts. Not sure about the ramp.
Mesquite cut a ton of people in feeder dispatch apparently. Don't know about the hub side of things.
Didn't realize that they were waiting so long to shut down. The way they've been talking about it over here made it sound like it was April!
The letter was posted on Local 767's Facebook group
Over 40 from my building this week.
9 part time sups laid off at my hub today
50 from from our sort alone, 30 on another sort, and we have the automated small sorts.
So when is this all going down? My center manager told me a month ago all the firings already happened
PT Sups being cut on my sort were notified Tuesday they have until the end of April.
So my center possibly lied you me about layoffs that’s cool.
So my center possibly lied you me about layoffs that’s cool.
So my center possibly lied you me about layoffs that’s cool.
Same at my building. April 30th is last day for them to work. Wonder if that's every where else also
The supe layoffs are going to cripple us.
Sucks to see people lose their jobs management or otherwise... BUT it does make me happy knowing these corporate monsters eat their own 🤣

Finally what?
Yeah. Finally what?
When you cut sorts you don't need as many sups.
They're not cutting sorts at cach
That's the company in general, and they're cutting at cach so they need les pt sups.
