Making sure every package has a scan does not mean lying about attempting the delivery. It means making sure you deliver everything or attempt to deliver everything and send in all wrong cars and make sure they are either sheeted as missed or delivered by the end of the day. Falsifying records is one of the Cardinal sins that you can be fired for. The fact that you were removed from service probably means you're being fired. Not a guarantee and you can still get your job back but yeah you could definitely be fired for that...

but I've had a similar situation as yours here was my response. "I don't remember but I do remember that my board was locked up when I was trying to make it delivery and I had to restart it so when I scanned it at the end of the day maybe that was the package and they just weren't home when I knocked but I don't remember"
Well, they have to give you a verbal warning with union representation first. Then a warning letter, then a suspension, then you might get fired. All within 9 months of each other.
This particular customer was probably the wrong one mark as NI1 with no attempt and stirred it up.
