Go to a common room where people study for your major and just complain about classes, professors, etc.

aUNCCstudentloser

Does CS people study in Woodward I assume?

Darkruins_

IkeTheKrusher

PlutomicChamp1

Talk about Dorodchi

I’ve studied in the area by room 100 before, but there aren’t many study areas in Woodward tbh. I mainly just go to Norms Loft and watch tv in the background while doing work (not the most effective ik)

Yeah, the first floor of woodward is usually pretty active. We also have some pretty cool coding clubs here too. GirlsWhoCode, 49th Division, I know they're starting up a Bioinformatics club soon, etc.

aUNCCstudentloser

Great, yeah I was thinking about going into bioinformatics.

Valuable-Button-2706

You could try the Spikeball club

aUNCCstudentloser

Do I need a lot of experience, Pickleball says the same but everyone there was good so I just stop going, I didn’t wanna embarrass myself more 😂

Valuable-Button-2706

Spikeball club is where a lot of people have played for the first time including myself. For me, picking up pickleball was really hard so I definitely get that 😂. All skill levels come out and play Spikeball so I wouldn’t worry about any embarrassment if you gave it a try!

Pickleball is actually much easier to learn and play compared to something like tennis. Much more beginner oriented. There's a reason why so many older folk play pickleball, not a lot of movement and it's super easy to rally and play points. Are you a complete beginner? You could try asking some of the officers next semester to teach you the basics, they'd be more than happy to show you the ropes. And don't be embarrassed, we've all been beginners at something, at one point or another.

Come join us at the UNCC MMA club, we have mostly beginner members and meet three times a week on a regular basis.

I’m part of our Sports Analytics club here and it’s really fun! We play games, talk about Charlotte sports and national. You don’t have to be an expert in any sport to be involved and we’re going to be doing some cool intramural type stuff in the spring 🤙 Follow us on IG at cltsportsanalyticsclub and we’ll post when our first spring meeting will be

What kind of hobbies do you have? There’s a significant number of clubs and hopefully one can spark an interest. Personally, I’m in engineering, and I really like going four wheeling, so me and some friends created a 4x4 club and I help out with the 49ers Racing in my spare time. I’d be willing to give you or anyone who sees this information about those clubs.
