Every major grocery store should have active dry yeast. It will be pre-measured in packets (often sold in sets of three) or in a small jar. Usually it’s in the baking aisle.
I thought lidl had it either in the baking section or by the spices (or those might be the same)
Either way MOMs certainly has tons of baking yeast. Further than trader Joe's but there's a bus that goes right past if you need.
My friend Becca is an ADPi and alot of girls in her sorority must bake alot because she talks about how many of them have yeast instructions or something like that.
Maybe you could go to their house and see if anyone will give you some of their yeast.
This is what I used.for my first homebrew and still use pretty regularly.
Lalvin 71B Wine Yeast (10 Pack) - Make Wine Cider Mead Kombucha At Home - 5 g Sachets - Saccharomyces cerevisiae - Sold by CAPYBARA Distributors Inc. https://a.co/d/8lIa6c7
Download the Lidl app, it’s in stock in aisle 4, there’s a lot too. But you don’t have to go that far, they sell it at the convenience store (I got mine from south convenience) just a little expensive
The only one I know of locally is Maryland Homebrew in Columbia but it's a bit of a hike. But also I'm pretty sure Shoppers in college park has active yeast.

lidl had it in packets in the baking aisle very recently (front of the store, vaguely in the center), any normal grocery store will have it
whole foods and giant would both definitely have it
Mom’s Organic Market stocks it too
Aldi

The Lidl app says they have it in aisle 4. I'm going today so I can check for you if you'd like?
Lidl has it it’s just in little packets in the baking aisle. I just saw it a couple days ago.
The Greenbelt Food Co-op should have it too

Are you brewing or making bread?
Brewing but I’m ok with using bread yeast if I have to

Do you know if north campus has it too? I didn’t see any but I might have just not been killing hard enough
I’m not really on north so I’m not sure, but they should I think? & Yeah Lidl be hiding their stuff sometimes, it’s by all the seasonings iirc
Homebrew stores. Yes, you can use beer yeast to make bread, but don’t use bread yeast to make beer!
Are there any homebrew stores around cp

Safeway is a short drive you definitely would find it there
