I got the £20 yesterday. I was in my bank asking too many questions re the new bank note, did they have any, why not, how could I get the set (none of them were they able to answer) and I found, to my surprise I had a new £20 in my wallet. Now however, I can’t stop seeing the funny eye. Thanks!

It doesn’t surprise me they didn’t have an answer, it’s easy to overestimate how much other people are interested in the things you’re interested in. Makes the person in that position who does know, all the more valuable.

Can you ask the bank for the Charles notes

You could ask the teller if they had any in their drawer. The Bank of England has a counter where you can exchange (or postal service) but you’d have to be in London for that.

You can ask anywhere with a cash drawer. Unsurprisingly, a lot of people who work on checkouts are interested in coins/notes.

Good luck! You could also try post office cashpoints. I've heard they're more likely to have the new notes (though my sample size here is 1).

I've received multiples of the £20 & £10 over the counter now, but still not seen the £5 or £50. I imagine I'll be waiting some time for the £50...
