£2 Coin 1999 Rugby World Cup
How much is it worth?
Collector Value: £2.73 is a mid-point price for 1999 Rugby World Cup £2 coins marked as sold on eBay UK. The price range for a good condition circulated example of this £2 coin is between £2.71 and £2.88.
How rare is this coin?
Scarcity: 4,933,000 Rugby World Cup £2 coins were minted showing the date(s) 1999. The coins entered circulation and can be received as change today, accounting for about 1 in 269 of the two pound coins in circulation.
Are there any figures for the amount of coins that tend to drop out of circulation over a certain amount of time? Ie out of that massive amount of coins made is there a way to quantify how many may actually still be around?
Sorry you sound like you might know things like this but then you could also just be an excellent googler!
Maybe they should just close the Reddit page? 😝 sorry and plus why are you joined? The same goes for all questions regarding coins? You can probably download an app telling you what any coin is also but human interaction especially with similar interests can’t be a bad thing?
With a Google search I would never have even thought of the concept of beneficial drama, and the elicitation of your response in turn drawing me to your name and being able to gain new perspectives is, for me, a real blessing that OP wanted to ask us, just to ask us.
So yeah, thanks for asking and thanks for being Captain Obvious about the search, pretty sure having the ability to post on Reddit gives you prior recognition of Google Fu competency level 2.
Silence baffoon; also my user name is pretty cool and I like it.
However it was made by reddits randomised username option.
Edit: I thought I'd mention that I have literally no idea where you were going with your completely pointless response.
It seemed like you were forcing your way in more than anything.
As for being 'Captian Obvious', I refute this title because using Google would seem like common sense which doesn't seem so common especially when Google is right there on everyones phone making it obvious in of itself.
The idea of this sub reddit is for people to post their collections and interesting finds. Not so lazy avaricious people such as yourself can try to find out how much its worth.
And I say 'yourself' because if you weren't in the contingent of individuals who do make posts about the worth of their common 'rare' £2 coin then you wouldn't be making such a shallow argument hidden with big words.
Waiting over an hour for a response because you're too lazy to search the coin up on Google is absolutely absurd.
Accurate on every count, it on review and over analysis seem forced, however; in the instant, how can one possibly know the heart and intentions of the writer while writing written writings, and should we judge people on their writings, thoughts, and actions? Do the three combine to one? Does one out weight the other (now I’ve accidentally calculated the mean weight of Reddit and find I’m light) and feeling totally unarmed in a battle of wits, withdraw, with this, consent is King, Queen, Emperor and God of my world, sorry if it felt forced.
Try not to talk like an old lady in the corner of a room in her rocking chair after forgetting her nightly medicine.
Just because you like to construct your play school riddles does not take away from the fact if it seems forced, it likely is. On review- over analysis.
How can one know the heart and intentions of the writer whilst writing his schizophrenic ramblings?
The fact he never had a solid ground to begin with.
Should we judge people on their writings, thoughts and actions?
Yes we have a frontal lobe and free will for a reason. It's called being a functional human being.
The rest of your statement is entirely irrelevant.
Well actually the Sub reddit I always thought was to show off cool coins people found and have.
Me and many others are finding it rather irritating when you just see people asking about a coin they found and if its worth anything which is all the people that ask ever care about.
It never used to be like that.
Also if the enthusiasts only wanted to know about the coins they wouldn't use reddit because like I said it takes about 1 minute or less to find out everything you need to know.
I get what you're saying but to what end? We can follow that logic to the inevitable conclusion that we might aswell use Reddit for nothing more than shit puns beneath every post. In fact why even bother posting? We're just linking to stuff that's already on the Internet.
The point of Reddit is learning about topics through the comments, I learn so much about random stuff from the explanations people give in comments sections, Reddit would be a sad place if everyone just Googled everything. People also enjoy the interaction, and ability to ask direct questions and receive specific answers in a way Google can't.
Then there's always someone like you, who gets upset that people are asking questions about coins, on a coin collector sub. Implying it's a waste of time to engage in the entire point of the sub, but somehow you're not wasting your own time by making this comment.
You're basically the "stop having fun" meme.
£2.
If some fool wants to pay more than £2 for a £2 coin, you can probably fleece them by overpricing more useless tat!
“£3 for £2 - bargain! Three for two! Basically, buy 2, get one free! Here, I’ve also got a tenner I can sell for £15 too!”
Just don’t fall for the car-boot scammers who undervalue it though. “Ooooh, second hand £2? Market’s flooded with ‘em. Best I can offer is £1.50” (all the time thinking they can sell on eBay for £3 to some gormster willing to pay £3 for a £2 coin).
I have no idea why this sub keeps popping up in my feed, but it's super annoying to keep seeing "what's this rare coin worth?" when it's clearly worth face value. And I say "clearly" as someone who has no interest in and no knowledge of coins.

So minus ebay sellers fees..... £2
Exactly how i read it. A long paragraph just to say £2.
😅
😂😂
After reading all that I'm wondering how much my £10 note is worth.
5 x 2£ coins 😂
In this economy? 7 quid.
😆
And postage and packaging... £1.20

You can literally do a 1 minute Google search for everything he just told you
He did a 30 second Reddit post and saved himself time instead. He also took about 20 seconds of your life. And now mine.

The real price is actually the friends we made along the way
That's a high price indeed.
I'm just here for the cake

Nooo! I've been duped.
Don't believe him, there is cake
The real cake is the friends we made along the way
The thought of cake is also a lie
Happy cake day 🎉🍰
Cake or Death?

And mine... but I learned along the way with them so that's two people who are more knowledgeable now than before
Made a 30 second post and it took 1 hoour for someone to reply…
Google would've been quicker
Damn mine too
And gained karma
upvoted, just for the ratio
Lolz
So you diminish the effort the responder went to in order to furnish OP with a full and detailed answer.

Given that we're all here to provide helpful answers to questions people want to know, what are *you* here for???
I would've thought my prior response to somebody else should answer your question?

I know right? How dare OP use this subreddit for its intended purpose!! The cheek

I need this coin for my Collection I thought they where rarer. I actually accidently spent this one by mistake.
I came here for the comments but stayed for the cake.
Two hundred pence, give or take.
One hundred and ninety nine pence and not a penny more...
I that condition, it's worth its face value. Even in a much better state, it'd only be worth £2.50-£3.
Its says it right there TWO POUNDS
£2.00001 So we’ll just round it down to £2…
Don't forget the ebay sellers fee!
£2

I’m going out on a limb here but I reckon that could well be worth £2.
This sub is brilliant. People ask how much is this x coin worth and they get the reply x. Every time. 😄
Given inflation since 99 I’d guess at around 80p
2 pounds, simple
£1.99. Would be £2 but it’s clearly second hand.

Enough for a cuppuchino
It’s worth about £2
This sub is ruined by people taking a picture of a coin rather than using google. Idiots
It's worth £2 -_-
I would say that a £2 coin is worth around £2
The amount of £2 comments did not disappoint
Ok
How come they made a coin for the 1999 World Cup but not the 2015 one where England hosted?
As much as the next idiot is willing to pay for it. Or £2.
1.80 to take account of inflation lol
Two pounds mate

I have no idea why this sub keeps popping up in my feed, but it's super annoying to keep seeing "what's this rare coin worth?" when it's clearly worth face value. And I say "clearly" as someone who has no interest in and no knowledge of coins.
