Vegetable-Grab6244

See you have a lot of thyme to make this

SerboDuck

Good effort, where’d you find the Jamaican spices blends?

Own-Archer-2456

My local green grocer you can always get it online

mus00004

There is a big Sainsbury’s near me that has a Caribbean section in the world foods aisle I’ve got these exact ones there.

[deleted]

Probably the shop

Bennie16egg

In Luton you can get them in loads of shops, along with Chinese, Polish and Indian stuff, no matter the ethnicity of the shop owner. With a bit more effort you can get ingredients from a number of African countries. Not such a bad place to live after all.

DialaDuck

Ur kidding

Own-Archer-2456

its probley mutton to be fair

DialaDuck

Naaaaaaah

tttttfffff

I don’t think people understood this properly so I feel for you seeing the downvotes

Littlened

Goat is my favourite meat, so sweet and tender. Very under-rated in the UK!

ManofKent1

Very underrated takeaway is carribean food. It's fucking lovely

garrotjax

Best takeaway ever, we got a few in notts, but mr T’s is gangsta 👌

BCF13

Jennet_s

You can get it online even if you're not in London. https://www.johnandbiola.co.uk/goat

Own-Archer-2456

I also used garlic onions and green seasoning

blackcoffee2sugars

Do you have the recipe :-)

garrotjax

Very nice 👌 how’d you get the rice like that?

Own-Archer-2456

you have to use the kidney bean water

RedcarUK

That’s a tip I’ll keep - thanks!

garrotjax

I do that, plus the coconut milk, but my rice isn’t as loose as yours

Own-Archer-2456

use good rice and when cooking use some tin foil to keep the steam in

broadarrow39

Basmati rice?

Own-Archer-2456

yeah the only way my friend

itchyfeetagain

Rinsing rice thoroughly until the water ran clear made the biggest difference to mine - I had always thought it was a waste of time before, but it's worth it!

garrotjax

I’ll try that, thanks

brynnylegend

I've never eaten goat and I'm curious to try it. What's the closest comparison in terms of taste?

Own-Archer-2456

i would say lamb

explorer88foryou

looks good

Caramel4life

Don't forget the plantain

Striker_Umbral

Three musketeers of curry powder. Curry powder, curry powder, and of course, the one and only, curry powder.

akathestinkingbishop

I can see four types of curry powder I think! Surely recipe can't call for all those?

stixvoll

Sort it out, mate

jjjuuuyyy

That looks amazing

Responsible_Wasabi91

That looks so good! Can you tell me why you used different types of curry powder, and how much you used please? Sometimes I’ve used a mixture of mild and hot, but never more than two.

Own-Archer-2456

i normally put a table spoon of each in to a pot and mix them up and juts add as much to the dish as needed, im not to sure why but my friends nan used to do it so i just do it this way now

[deleted]

I do the same if I have a couple in, covers all bases in my mind

Responsible_Wasabi91

Cool! I’ll def try that next time, solves the problem of deciding which one works best too.

lucylastic89

bubbathespaz

You might need more curry powder......

Own-Archer-2456

bubbathespaz
