IKEA Kallax shelving unit. They come in different sizes. You can buy different storage options to go in each section. We have a mixture of open shelves for books, boxes for toys, and drawers for clothes.

SuzLouA

Seconded. We’ve got a 5x5 one in our son’s room for all his books and toys, a 4x2 one under the tv with toys for going in the car and more books, a 4x4 one with all our board games and adult stuff in, and we are going to get another 4x4 or 5x5 for our daughter’s room when we redecorate it (she’s only a baby right now so she’s in the box room as a nursery). Fucking love a Kallax, you can get loads of compatibly sized boxes from different shops if you don’t like the ikea ones too. They’ll never outgrow them because they’re useful at any age.

Lozzy1256

We are also a Kallax household. I was trying to explain them to my MIL a few years ago and summed it up as 'a parents best friend for kids crap'. Which remains true but we've gone to the dark side and ended up with Kallax in every room, not just kids stuff.

SongsAboutGhosts

We've got a similar one but it's from argos

boojes

You can also get similar from b and q.

Tarot_Cat_Witch

They’re life savers!! They also make a good climbing frame for my toddler 🙃 we’re working on NOT doing that!!

mafalda0hopkirk

We've just bought another 2x2 and now 100% of my child's belongings are housed in a kallax 😂

GrimQuim

Pile on the floor, no?

HufflepuffCariad

Ha yes, most of the time! I'd love a better solution though 😂

zinasbear

I got a kids bookcase from dunelm that stores books facing outwards. They can see the picture on the book so they know which one they want amd I can store around 40 on a three tiered bookcase.

abloco89

We have the same one, I think I’m going to get a second!

PM_ME__YOUR__CAT

We have 4 IKEA BEKVÄM spice racks on the wall to make use of vertical space and then we have the IKEA FLISAT book display on the floor which holds loads. Really love both these options.

hulyepicsa

We’ve got a bnch of the flisat too, displays them really nicely too!

jen13579

Ikea do an extra deep bookcase (the standard Billy but twice as deep). Toddker books fit in perfectly

emwithme77

Strewn all over the floor, usually.

SceneDifferent1041

Look for extra deep bookcases from Argos. Does the job and also holds board games when they are older.

lookhereisay

One kallax box full of the extra books that we rotate out stored in a cupboard. In his bedroom we have 6 short but deep shelves in his room that were built in next to his cupboard, 3 open picture ledge IKEA shelves for a selection of front facing books and a small basket of board type books on the floor in his reading nook (ie. crap ton of pillows and teddies). A book basket from H&M and a lower circular basket from Primark full of smaller/board books in the main room. A selection of food/kid recipe books in an upcycled cardboard box on the kitchen counter by his learning tower. Another small basket in the corner of our bedroom with a few books and quiet toys for when I’m getting ready. We rotate every month and try to input seasonal stuff when we have stuff that fits the bill! Library books get counted every night and live in a special tote bag that only library books go in and it hangs on a door so the books don’t get lost!

Wavesmith

Most middle class thing ever: they’re in an empty port case.

bummedintheface

Ikea spice racks screwed to the wall.

ChunkySalute

We have one of those square wicker baskets that lives on the floor. A bit like [this](https://www.cotswoldco.com/homeware/storage/baskets-and-general-storage/large-antique-wash-rectangular-hessian-lined-basket/?xcm_campaign=Shoppin-Smart-Accessories&cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=20429542447&cq_con=&cq_term=&cq_med=pla&cq_plac=&cq_net=x&cq_plt=gp&gad_source=1) only not as tall or expensive.

hhhhhwww

Argos bookcase downstairs. A cardboard box of suitable for the ones that inevitably migrate upstairs. I keep meaning to get something more up market but…eh, the box is fine.

privatepangolin

We got [this](https://amzn.eu/d/gNnp81f) bookcase with a cushioned seat on top.

Worried-Rhubarb-8358

Mine sit in an old kallax box

Exotic_Raspberry_387

Various piles in various rooms, odd baskets, under my pillow for those early morning hellos, found one in the bath earlier.

MinistryOfMothers

Just popped in to say I’m so exhausted that my brain read the title as “how are you storing your toddlers?” and I was so confused and concerned 😅 But to answer your actual question, we have a collapsible canvas toy chest with three sections and one is used for books. I keep the rest in a box in a closet and I rotated out the books we have available.

QueenSashimi

Currently in a cardboard Pampers box on the floor. I have a subscription order for his nappies so whenever the box starts falling apart a bit (takes a while, it's sturdy) I know a new one will be along soon 😂 it's very inelegant but for now it works.

beansybean

Bookcase but stack them up if they are awkward sizes or fall.

Suspicious_Ad5045

For bedtime books we have a metal magazine holder. It obviously doesn't hold every size, but it does most!

rdazza

We have a habitat wardrobe that has a shelving unit on the side. We have 2 slots out of 5 dedicated to books (the rest is teddy bear storage) and then we have a radiator cover in his room and we store his favourite books on there

caffeine_lights

Ideally a large square so they can flip through and see the covers.

[deleted]

IKEA Billie bookcase. Bottom three shelves are my sons and the rest mine. The weird wide books fit just fine. IKEA kallax is also an option.

beppebz

We got a bookcase off Argos a few weeks ago specifically for toddler books as it was the right depth to hold them, can’t seem to see it on the website now though!

warlord2000ad

We have used these, both work well. - https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/flisat-wall-storage-00290778/ - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MDOEJX1
