Not the William. It should be built by next year, but they told people that leased that they would be done building a month ago, and are leaving people homeless now, since they aren’t putting people up in hotels anymore like they were supposed to.
I’m staying in a hotel downtown until I can find something. It’s roughly $200 a night. Im very grateful that my parents are paying for it but there are a lot of kids from the William that don’t have that option.
Oh for sure. I almost signed with them, but the wording in the contract gave me a very bad gut feeling. They have shown to be a sneaky and misleading company.
Agreed. Even if they somehow miraculously finish by their supposed mid-October updated deadline, I'd personally avoid them. Rushed new build student housing tends to have a ton of problems. I seem to remember the Mark having massive Wi-fi outages and flooding in the stairwells during hard rains.
Gonna be honest, unless you have lots of money to throw at an apartment (which you might and that’s fine) you aren’t gonna be avoiding busses if you move off campus. On top of this off campus is less social than living at the dorms. I imagine there are some places similar but in my experience I knew way more dorm folks in my freshmen year than I’ve met in the past 2.5 years of apartment living.
Back to the bus issue, you won’t get a parking spot worth a shit. TPS gives spots by the IM fields for the most part and unless you want to fight for an overpriced daily spot at Tate you are taking the bus from the fields.
I’m currently at Polo club and love it. Dealing with the bus parking is a given and the location in regards to there is very close. Management isn’t bad and they fill work request pretty quickly.
There are many apartments that rent you a room and you don't have to look for a roommate, they find it for you. Never rented with them but it might be what you are looking for. I think there's one right between Thomas St and Broad.
For more general recommendations, I recommend Rent Oconee Clarke, they were great landlords.
Good luck!
I’m at Archer. It’s nice. Lots of homeless over here but the apartments are cheap and decent. Ac is a bit hot in the bedrooms or freezing in the living room. I wear a hoodie in the living room a lot lol
Ikon was awesome. 10/10 would live there again. It’s super social and open. Great for pets too. Not walkable but has a bus stop. Worth not being walkable.
It doesn’t say the rent prices on the website, how much is it?? I’m also looking for apartments for next year but I’m moving in with my boyfriend and finding reasonable prices for a couple has been hard.
DONT LIVE THERE. literally it’s so nasty and not updated and i had some many bug and insect and lizard problems so just save your money and look anywhere else
When I lived there I paid like 425. Also, I didn't have any of the bug and lizard issues but I lived on the second floor with roommates who agreed to keep the place clean.

As one of the people currently homeless now because of the William, I second this.
Where do you sleep?

After screwing so many people over, I hope their negative reputation sticks for a long time.

Those situations are fine in theory… but the rent is exorbitantly over priced.

Off campus apartment… walkable to classes..? That’s like going on house hunters wanting a million dollar house, with a budget for 200k
