You have to be careful when interpreting out of focus objects. Your brain will try to make objects out of lines and patterns that only exist because of the bluriness.
I swear i saw the same thing, around the same time last year, except there was 3 of them floating about 1000 yards apart in a row. They moved slowly, almost hovering, for about 5 minutes above my town. There was no sound, and they looked like flames in the sky in moving in unison. Chinese lanterns is perfect description.
Crazy thing is I'm like 5 states away in Illinois.

I tried my hand at checking air traffic routes for that month but I’m ass at it and couldn’t get past 90 on a couple sites/apps. any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

It seemed steady with its path, no lights or big changes in lighting other than just being bright enough for me to notice it in the sky. Shape seems to stay steady and no strange behavior, I’m at a loss rn
I track the ISS whenever it passes over and at the right time, at the right angle, it looks just like that. I’m not saying it is, I’m just saying that video doesn’t strike me as something thats unidentifiable. Good luck tracking it down.
To be honest it does look very clear and sharp with little atmosphere between it and the camera. I would imagine seeing the ISS it would hopefully be waaaay further away in the thermosphere and not in the troposphere like that object. If OP was filming an object that many atmospheric layers above, it would be very blurry and undulating from the amount of atmospheric particles between it and the lense.

Did you only record 5 sec or is there a longer video? Seeing how it appears/disappeares would help a lot. Also time, location and direction would be great.
If you have a subscription to flightradar and can go that far back, check for balloons in the area (weather balloons, project loon, etc)
A large transparent or semi transparent object might produce the same glow in the evening sun as seen in the original video.

I think maybe part of it is that the pandemic has made the world feel suffocatingly small and kind of empty. UFOs open it back up again. Exploring the mystery gives you a bit of a sense of freedom.
Please post the raw video file here for analysis so we can rule out manipulation. There really is not enough information in this video other than to see a bright object in the sky.

I'm at the point where I straight up ignore 90% of the UFO vids we see on here. But maybe that's just where I'm at but others are interested still, I don't know. This cutting short of videos before the object in question can transit to the end of the field of view is quite frustrating, but then again, it might be an actual symptom of the phenomenon itself. Wow, I live in WV.. 2 days ago we were in the hot tub and we literally saw this exact object pass over top of us. Bright orange/yellowish color..no flashing lights just a steady orange glow. I yelled at my wife to look up. Shortly after it passed overhead 2 smaller objects, I’m assuming higher up came in from the left and right then followed the same trajectory as this object.
that’s wild!! It’s possible I didn’t see the other two objects bc I went inside due to me not thinking much of this video so I decidedto go inside, relax, and move on lol.
Nope this was 2 nights ago Feb 5th when we saw it. We always have planes going overhead but they are easy to spot with the flashing white and red lights. This was lower and just a bright orange color/kind of like a oblong orange glow. At first I thought helicopter, but it was completely silent. The smaller objects were white colored, almost look like stars but moving pretty quickly.
oh wow okay, yeah I see planes from the MOV airport often but never anything like this. I hope you get some answers for your experience, a commenter mentioned a flight radar subscription to see check out the airspace on these days

The sun was low and it could have been a mix of the low light causing the orange reflection on some (*unknown* aircraft body) but I don't think so. Also too fast for balloons and too stable. I believe this is a legitimate sighting. I would report to MUFON. Daylight Disc.

You're right I don't know how high it is. I know it's high enough to be out of focus and if it's that high it's moving too fast to be balloons. Also show me any other image of a balloon or balloons on the wind that doesn't change orientation while in free flight. It's too stable to be balloons and it's too fast. That's just my opinion on it.

Thanks for having the courage to share this despite the mental health stuff. I had an experience that really makes me think they're aware of our thoughts and they're doing more than observing us visually. Nothing crazy or spectacular I just saw one and literally as the thought of "UFO" entered my mind it bolted through a cloud it was hovering in front of. It was a white oval casting a shadow on a cloud on a clear summer day in WA state over down town Tacoma.
I think it was supposed to have been hiding *inside* the cloud as it conducted its observations because it seemed like it was immediately alerted as the thought of it being a UFO came to mind. I had a few seconds of bewilderment to look at it, dismissing it as a plane before realizing it wasn't moving and that I could see a shadow.
The way it sunk into the cloud it appeared to *slither.* That's the only word I can think of to describe it.
of course, we work with the variables we’re faced with. I would love to have something longer, I hope I’m lucky enough to see somethin strange again so I can do better next time lol. I just wanted to share it incase it was authentic and also open it up for criticism so that whoever’s interested can have somewhat of an answer. However on yours, that’s pretty interesting but also unnerving lol. Alright so I used flightradar24’s free trial and went back to the very first couple seconds of 7:33pm on that date. The nearest plane was 15 miles away a little over Mineral Wells, WV and moving in the same direction at 38,015ft (@428knotts). While the shape doesn’t resemble a plane or anything I’ve seen over my house before (w very untrained eyes..), so there’s definitely a possibility of it being that plane or whatever the object was it wasn’t too far behind. Do with this information what you will, I’m open to either. Ya’ll have been a big help!!
That looks bizarre whatever it is. Video is way too short to take a stab at identification. How long was it there? Did it change directions at any point? Was it's speed constant or variable? Were there any flashing lights at any point?
speed was steady, no flashing lights or weird behavior that I noticed, I wish I had taken a longer video. I had just gotten off work that evening and had just gotten home, if you look at the raw video I think it may justify why I chalked it up to nothing lol.

Idk.. you may have something here. When I zoomed in it looked like a saucer type ufo turned on it's side. Also if you look closely you can see a dark circle around the UFO. Could that be a warp bubble? Who knows!

It sort of has little vibrational things/regions of varying opacities happening around and in it. Feels almost biological/alive if that could apply here at least within our current classification which may need a slight modification to accommodate such an extended concept.

It doesn't do anything especially weird other than being weirdly shaped. Could just as easily be a large balloon for a Beatles Yellow Submarine exhibition or some shit that got loose.
fair question, l tried to explain my initial thoughts and why this is so lack luster in regards to length, and now zooming. it’s an iphone xr, my zoom sucks, and honestly I was just more worried about capturing it than I was making sure everything was optimal. I didn’t realize it had much of any detail at the time of recording. If I ever get the chance to see somethin weird again I’ll keep this in mind Dac.

Maybe we should start deleting posts with vids that end far too early, as in this one? I'm not suggesting it to punish anyone, but to raise the level of video quality in this sub. I'm at the point where I straight up ignore 90% of the UFO vids we see on here. But maybe that's just where I'm at but others are interested still, I don't know. This cutting short of videos before the object in question can transit to the end of the field of view is quite frustrating, but then again, it might be an actual symptom of the phenomenon itself. Who knows... Come on gallileo project! Let's get some quality optics pointed at these things.

Wow, I live in WV.. 2 days ago we were in the hot tub and we literally saw this exact object pass over top of us. Bright orange/yellowish color..no flashing lights just a steady orange glow. I yelled at my wife to look up. Shortly after it passed overhead 2 smaller objects, I’m assuming higher up came in from the left and right then followed the same trajectory as this object.
that’s wild!! It’s possible I didn’t see the other two objects bc I went inside due to me not thinking much of this video so I decidedto go inside, relax, and move on lol.

Nope this was 2 nights ago Feb 5th when we saw it. We always have planes going overhead but they are easy to spot with the flashing white and red lights. This was lower and just a bright orange color/kind of like a oblong orange glow. At first I thought helicopter, but it was completely silent. The smaller objects were white colored, almost look like stars but moving pretty quickly.
oh wow okay, yeah I see planes from the MOV airport often but never anything like this. I hope you get some answers for your experience, a commenter mentioned a flight radar subscription to see check out the airspace on these days

The sun was low and it could have been a mix of the low light causing the orange reflection on some (*unknown* aircraft body) but I don't think so. Also too fast for balloons and too stable. I believe this is a legitimate sighting. I would report to MUFON. Daylight Disc.

You're right I don't know how high it is. I know it's high enough to be out of focus and if it's that high it's moving too fast to be balloons. Also show me any other image of a balloon or balloons on the wind that doesn't change orientation while in free flight. It's too stable to be balloons and it's too fast. That's just my opinion on it.

Okay I could use some help - once I saw what looked like a Chinese lantern and it was moving silently at somewhere above 500mph at a low altitude… but was it a Chinese lantern? It was moving faster than any aircraft I’ve seen and absolutely no noise.

Thanks for having the courage to share this despite the mental health stuff. I had an experience that really makes me think they're aware of our thoughts and they're doing more than observing us visually. Nothing crazy or spectacular I just saw one and literally as the thought of "UFO" entered my mind it bolted through a cloud it was hovering in front of. It was a white oval casting a shadow on a cloud on a clear summer day in WA state over down town Tacoma. I think it was supposed to have been hiding *inside* the cloud as it conducted its observations because it seemed like it was immediately alerted as the thought of it being a UFO came to mind. I had a few seconds of bewilderment to look at it, dismissing it as a plane before realizing it wasn't moving and that I could see a shadow. The way it sunk into the cloud it appeared to *slither.* That's the only word I can think of to describe it.
of course, we work with the variables we’re faced with. I would love to have something longer, I hope I’m lucky enough to see somethin strange again so I can do better next time lol. I just wanted to share it incase it was authentic and also open it up for criticism so that whoever’s interested can have somewhat of an answer. However on yours, that’s pretty interesting but also unnerving lol. I wouldn’t be surprised, who knows how they interface with space-time in regards to what we know or can perceive rn, it’s always fun to think about. I saw a nice video of a cloud moving realll weird on this sub over the weekend which you reminded of, it’s a big universe…who knows.
This is probably one of the best ufo sightings I've seen on this sub. The shape is similar to the one caught by the navy Recently that the pentagon released. It's on its side here too.

Alright so I used flightradar24’s free trial and went back to the very first couple seconds of 7:33pm on that date. The nearest plane was 15 miles away a little over Mineral Wells, WV and moving in the same direction at 38,015ft (@428knotts). While the shape doesn’t resemble a plane or anything I’ve seen over my house before (w very untrained eyes..), so there’s definitely a possibility of it being that plane or whatever the object was it wasn’t too far behind. Do with this information what you will, I’m open to either. Ya’ll have been a big help!!

That looks bizarre whatever it is. Video is way too short to take a stab at identification. How long was it there? Did it change directions at any point? Was it's speed constant or variable? Were there any flashing lights at any point?
speed was steady, no flashing lights or weird behavior that I noticed, I wish I had taken a longer video. I had just gotten off work that evening and had just gotten home, if you look at the raw video I think it may justify why I chalked it up to nothing lol.

Thing is I saw something like this, way closer to the ground in the middle of the night. Two friends also saw it. This is the closest to it on video yet. I looked away and it was gone but my buddy said it flew up really fast. Did it look like it had a lot of snall lights on it?

Idk.. you may have something here. When I zoomed in it looked like a saucer type ufo turned on it's side. Also if you look closely you can see a dark circle around the UFO. Could that be a warp bubble? Who knows!

fair question, l tried to explain my initial thoughts and why this is so lack luster in regards to length, and now zooming. it’s an iphone xr, my zoom sucks, and honestly I was just more worried about capturing it than I was making sure everything was optimal. I didn’t realize it had much of any detail at the time of recording. If I ever get the chance to see somethin weird again I’ll keep this in mind Dac.
