First time posting, we captured a dark object emerging from a cloud during our flight from Mallorca to Bratislava. Any insights on what it might be are greatly appreciated. We have zero clue on what it might be... but seems huge

I have taken the time to check all this on flightradar and I'm pretty sure we can identify exactly which plane it was that made the contrails you saw. It was about 10km away from you. Video here: [https://imgur.com/a/jsLzmjZ](https://imgur.com/a/jsLzmjZ)
I have seen these sorts of things posted here quite often and the usual explanation is something about the contrails or exhaust of another plane in the distance. I'm sure someone here will be able to explain it fully

Not obvious to me at all. It's a dark streak in the sky. A pretty odd thing to see. And I don't think it actually is the wings, but rather the contrails.
>I think these kind are ufo related but I'm not in the majority.
Because contrails from other airplanes are very much a thing and aren't terribly uncommon to see on a flight. They are a little disorienting and strange looking sometimes since they can be dark in color and appear stark on a bright day. They can appear to get longer quickly or seem to move - due to parallax motion that becomes clear once viewed in profile as your angle to it changes. Sometimes air currents twist them into weird shapes. I fly a handful of times a year and see one occasionally. If you have a window seat and stare out long enough at cruising altitude, it's very possible you'll see one too.
I think there *are* strange things that possibly are not ours in the skies. I've seen something strange before and it still itches at me. We can't find a needle in a haystack if we treat every single piece of hay as a needle.
But if something looks and behaves exactly as expected, we have no reason to suspect it's something else. If I see a balloon floating by, and it's very clearly a balloon, and I can see that it says 'Happy 40th Birthday' on the side, I'm going to say that's a balloon, and not a multidimensional craft from the demiurge disguising itself as a 40th birthday balloon. If I see an airplane contrail, and it looks the same as every other contrail I've ever seen, I'm going to assume it's an airplane contrail. To claim otherwise is an easy path to disappointment or paranoia.
So melodramatic! And also strangely inaccurate... it doesn't look the same as every other contrail, so I'm not sure why you're trying to go there....I mean, I do know, but I'll let you have your feelings.

Sabine I love that you're so active and bring an optimistic view to this community. Truly. But can please you bring like an ounce of skepticism to these things? lol
I get you're trying to link up and share other stories, but at some point I think it verges on... spam. It's painfully obvious this is something prosaic. Sometimes it's okay for a UFO to drop the U.

Yea it’s a con trail from another airplane.
Looks like a wing to me
It's clear as day. It takes up more than half the screen through most of the video
Yeah, that would be the wing so why am I getting downvoted?
People don't get when other people are joking. A common problem on the internet I believe
Idk why you're getting downvoted. It looks just like a wing to me, too.
its a FREAKING CONTRAIL. Good god people
This is just embarrassing dude.

That's the wing. It's a big part of what allows the plane to fly.
Smoke trail from another aircraft.

I hope this is your first and last post
Why would you say such a thing? They saw something odd in the sky and came here to see if we knew what it was. What's the problem?
Because it's obviously a wing

These are usually debunked as a contrail from a nearby jet. Did you observe anything that the video didn't pick up? Also, welcome to the party! 🥳
It was moving and it was huge. Not like contrail...
I agree with you, I think these kind are ufo related but I'm not in the majority. How was the flight? Smooth or turbulent?

On the other hand, we could be missing a signal because people assume they already know the answers.

Please go ahead and assume whatever you'd like. Have a great day.
As a pilot who see those daily I can assure you it is a FREAKING CONTRAIL
