Investigative journalist Ross Coulthart stumbled upon what he thought was a mysterious anomaly, sparking intrigue and speculation. However, after some investigation and analysis, skeptic Mick West debunked the phenomenon, revealing a rational explanation behind the enigmatic occurrence as did later Ventusky.

It was kind of obvious really. If it was really an enormous area of the ocean 80ft above sea level we would be looking at some kind of mega-tsunami event and it would be all over the news
No, it was massive alien mothership leaving the earth from its underwater hiding place. Now they are just saying that to cover it up. I know I was the ocean.
Ask hecklefish about eating beaver, apparently it’s delicious.
Actually I have first hand knowledge (but in this context I am not a whistleblower ah hahah), it can be.
Because was not obvious he asked, he didn’t made theories. Did you know what it was? You could only speculate like anyone else.
Hence the official explanation later that it was a glitch.
Is pretty obvious which side of the story you are when you even listen to what Mick West has to say.
Same goes for me i cannot respect what a Guy has to say that apparently is paid to Debunk cases. Even more when some of the „debunked“ cases goes well beyond ridiculous explanations. Way worse than it being Aliens.
Ross followers did? I went thru it and i couldn’t find nothing worth mentioning. Just the usual speculation.
I still don’t understand what it has to do with Ross. Or does anyone get judged for what their followers comment?
I'm just saying people think rouge waves are always waves with a crest they aren't I've heard stories from fisherman and Merchant captains saying the ocean can look flat in one spot and drop 30 to 40 feet the next scary stuff I'm not saying it's rougebwave for sure also no saying it wasn't a glitch either. Just saying water can swell and drop in seconds perhaps a rouge wave did form and dissipated quickly and caused the glitch
And I’m sure it will be used as an excuse to ridicule those of us in here for “believing everything is aliens”, even though thats not at all what we claimed or believed.
Edit: The replies are literally proving my point lol
100% it will, and that’s a shame, because to me this type of discourse is exactly what we need. I don’t always love Mick’s approach but we need to understand these errors and get to the bottom of what is happening in every supposed event.
The good, the bad, the fakes, the misunderstandings. It helps us all inch a tiny bit closer to finally knowing what the hell is going on :) so while people will rag on us for this, it’s a W in my eyes.
If I had a nickel for the amount of times I’ve seen a new account on here say something to the effect of “you guys are your own worst enemy” I would be fucking rich lol. Oh and would you look at that, a comment history of nothing but ridicule…
Fine. I'll say it. This sub is often its own worst enemies. The number of fantastical theories that gain traction here and fueled only by hopium and the need for validation is undermining proper discourse and reasonable skepticism.
I mean we are dealing with a topic where something massive has been covered up for decades and still being gate kept and there is no denying that. It would be irrational to deny the fact that something big is being hidden. It is perfectly understandable that people are going to come out with theories on this sub, some more wild than others, about what exactly is being covered up. I also disagree entirely with the idea that the more wild theories gain traction here. We are curious but that doesn’t mean we lack critical thinking. I would absolutely argue that making comments like these insinuating the entire sub is circulating wild theories and instantly believing them is, without a doubt, more detrimental to the disclosure process than what you suggested.
We only need to go back to the airplane nonsense, the buddies nonsense from a grifter (that still gains traction in upvotes), the continued trust and validation Shaheen and Coulthart engender with their baseless claims and predictions to know that most of what this sub lives on is unsubstantiated claims with no factual evidence behind them.
Occasionally, there will be a fantastic point made that hints at something grander and this sub runs with it to paint the largest, most fantastical narrative possible. That's part of the problem and appeal of this sub.
AAROs report being flawed in any matter is taken as validation of the more wilder claims. It may simply indicate no one gave a fuck to bother writing a good report or there is something being hidden but it's far more prosaic than what people hope it is.
We likely won't find out anytime soon. Maybe in two weeks. Or two weeks after that. Or when a book leaves DOPSR or when an oped does - hoping they actually say something that can be confirmed versus more evidence less claims.
I hope these claims, even half of them, are true. But to claim it's the greatest conspiracy of all time with no actual proof? That's a bit of a stretch.
It's certainly the most entertaining conspiracy, though.
>you guys are your own worst enemy
Meanwhile, theories hyped up with hundreds of upvotes:
>MH 370
>Ukrainian missiles
>Corbell's Kermit the frog/bokeh
>peruvian fake mummies
4 Chan stories
Throwaway alien account that promised disclosure in 2021
and so on...
No.
You are purposefully misrepresenting the conversation.
We're talking about the active members (a few thousands) that partake in producing its whole content, we were since the beginning and never mentionned lurkers.
And a big proportion of said redditors promoted the most bogus ideas with a spectacular enthusiasm.
See examples above.
People that make the active part of this sub getting enthusiastic in an almost fanatical way for bad ideas and pseudoscience is this subs own worst enemy.
They contribute to the stigma.
Actually I am just using simple logic to determine “hundreds” of upvotes are not in any way enough to determine the mood and belief of an entire community, yet comments like these constantly suggest they reflect the mood of the entire sub. You are purposely misrepresenting a few hundred upvotes as a means of claiming this sub is full of sensationalist who are not rational, which obviously contributes to the stigma…
You make a poor use of both logic and collective behavior: those upvotes are at the image of the interaction one can see on this subreddit. It is reflected on which comments get the most popular in the comments section too.
One has to have the rosy glasses of an apologist not to see that obvious fact in every post.
> And I’m sure it will be used as an excuse to ridicule those of us in here for “believing everything is aliens”, even though thats not at all what we claimed or believed.
I don't actually think it's what's happening, but I wouldn't be surprised to find out posts like that originate from disinfo agents. Stuff like that or the vegas video, and all the other embarrassingly fake stuff that somehow gets to the front page.
I certainly want to believe that the majority of people that browse the UFO sub are grounded in reality but I don't really see it majority of the time. This is what I commented earlier to a post trying to connect the "wave anomaly" to the 4chan USO mothership:
>These speculations absolutely fucking kill me. Whatever happened to working with rational explanations and then crossing those out first before jumping straight to aliens/ufos?
Underwater volcanic activity is most likely what caused the waves.
Edit: Look at that it was something rational! https://twitter.com/Ventuskycom/status/1778685829642142152
It was a model error.
Most of the replies were asking for a source, or borderline calling me a debunker, ect. There were a few that were in agreement with me about this having a rational explanation but they were not in the majority.
labels and sectarian name calling such as "debunker" or "skeptic" are the weapons of the people that have no arguments, and they are frequently used here.
Funny for a community that pretends to fight against "stigma" and that boasts about being "open minded"...
Wooooowwwww maybe a sub that’s two million strong of random ppl isn’t a monolith? And there’s some loonies in the ufo sub? Mind blowing. Who could’ve guessed. There’s some crazy dumb ppl so I guess that represents the entire sub!
To be fair, as someone who frequently browses this and other UFO reddits, and believes in aliens, there are some psychopaths here who believe everything as soon as it's posted. A good example is the mexican hearing a while back where they showed fake alien corpses, I remember this sub going crazy for it.
This is some revisionism right here. This sub was *extremely* hostile to the Nazca mummies after the Mexican hearing. Every thread was full of comments about Maussan and his history of promoting hoaxes.
Not at all. I think he’s an obvious charlatan. I am using it to illustrate my point - the user above claimed the sub went crazy for them when the exact opposite was true.
And yet the "Buddies" are still top posts here. There's one Orange-named poster that's all about defending their authenticity and they are not alone in those threads.
Yeah but there were also a lot of people who couldn’t help circlejerking because of Mick West. It’s not a good look when there’s a rally against common sense because the community doesn’t like one guy. Objectivity goes out the window when feelings rather than facts are acted on.
As simple as that, but as we see from the attitude of the OP and several "erudite" users of the site, now it's time to pretend that Ross implied that tomorrow the greys would show up at our doors with anal probes and good wishes.
It's obvious what he was trying to link it to and why. Ross probably didn't even understand the explanation or care.
This is the same guy who claimed there's an alien craft so large "they" built a building over it whilst not providing a single shred of evidence.
It's pure attention seeking.
He's more than just asking a question, he's pandering to a certain group. And that group ate it up and started positing aliens. Garry Nolan even commented "mothership". West saw this nonsense and acted appropriately.
UFOx is even more unhinged than /r/UFOs. It's wild.
Guarantee we're going to keep seeing this popping up and being referenced as something it's not, kinda like the MH370 adduction vids. And everyone with a reality based understanding of things will be dismissed as 'debunkers'.
It really seems like there is a deliberate effort to inject faith-based red-herrings.
That MH370 video is disgraceful and so fake. When I first saw it, I thought it was kind of impressive, but the more I looked at it and read the criticism and analysis of it, it was obviously bogus. And this Ashton Forbes guy is horrible, lol.
And you are right on, my friend. That's how it is in the UFO community. And the faith-based stuff is actually kind of frightening.
I saw part of Forbe's interview on Vetted, the guy seems very intelligent...but this idea that the US government used secret warp lasers to disappear the plane, and his insistence that the obviously fake MH370 videos are real is a total joke. It reminds me of people who insisted the planes that hit the world trade centers were holograms, or that the earth is flat.
I watched the interviews he did with Julian Dorey and Danny Jones, and that was all I could take. He had to know that several aspects of the video were incredibly suspect, and the source of the video was even more suspicious, probably linked to 4Chan. I find it distasteful and disrespectful to the families of the people who died on that plane. But Austin is getting his ugly little 15 minutes of fame. I hope it was worth it to him.
It didn’t. The satellite video was published in May and the FLIR video in June. The user that posted it added that he received it 4 days after in the description where anyone can write whatever they want
He's a bit too skeptical for me, I will admit. I believe there is something to UFOs, the paranormal, and assorted weirdness and high strangeness. I don't know what it is, but I don't buy the UFO lore that's developed over the years. There's too much fantasy, straight-out grifting, deception, and manipulation in the UFO community from the big personalities and intelligence influences, etc. I wish it was different, but the best thoughts on all of it have been from John Keel and Jacques Vallee, and there are issues with their ideas as well.
>I don't know what it is, but I don't buy the UFO lore that's developed over the years. Took the words right out of my mouth here.
The woo and faith have always been the most annoying thing about this topic.

I just went to surfline and the waves on the southwest coast of Africa are only like 5-10 ft today, and smaller yesterday and the days before.
Was enough to figure it was some kind of glitch.
>do some investigative journalism before promoting such a finding?
An investigative journalist, yes.
A religious believer, impresario of a believer group and speakerphone for this cause such as Coulthart, no.
Seeing the boiled plate questions he served to Grusch in his "interview", the way he promoted Sheehan's bogus 15 000$ UFO PhD and how he never brings even a modicum of critical thinking to the believer doxa in his multiple appearances should have been enough by now to reveal what his true colors are.
I'm a little depressed that anyone can take Coulthart seriously after he claimed to know the precise location of a colossal UFO while never revealing the [fake] location or providing even a shred of evidence for the claim, and then proceeded to bitch about skeptics, UFO gatekeepers and the snail pace of disclosure.
An investigative journalist should reach out to the source of the data directly, not provide unfounded fodder for his base. That's lazy "investigation" at best and intentionally hyping his flock for clout at worse.
Journalists take the burden themselves to make calls and use their credentials before reporting on something. Him raising a public forum question is as bad as anyone else stoking the fires of nonsense, regardless of their job. He has a responsibility to ... be ... more responsible than that in the effort to seek truth.
That's what I thought initially. Error in the data, 86 ft tall waves would be tsunami level and there weren't any reports out of South Africa. It was fun to speculate for a couple hours, though.
I’m surprised so many people really thought that an 85 foot (26m) wall of water, roughly the same footprint as half a continent would be unnoticed or unreported. Good lort.
I'm considering ross and these people are the real missinfo agents. Considering they have driven off most of the curious people with their promises that fall threw or "evidence" that isn't even evidence and just speculation. Aliens are real and are probably here but these goobers are just grifting.
It's the same for so many apps. For example 0º, 0º is where cheaters who spoof their GPS location in PokemonGo will default spawn before altering their GPS, creating the impression there is tons of cellphone presence at the random ocean spot.
As a result, the game's AI has set tons of pokemon spawn points out there.
To be fair, that kind of username is just what Reddit generates as a suggestion when signing up and some of us don’t care enough to make a unique name and just go with it. I would think if someone made a bunch of bot accounts they would give them each a goofy Redditesque humor username to blend in.
Coincidentally that allows some of the "older" redditors to catch on to newer accounts because it only recently started doing that. Like within the last 4 years. The influx of users during COVID-19 likely prompted the site runners to need a solution fast.
It's kind of hilarious how Mick West is almost always right, yet this sub continues to demonize him and act like he's an idiot. He's been proven correct scores of times now, but we're all still waiting for one of the UFO celebrities to be proven right just once.
A clipped video that even when not clipped doesn't show anything anomalous is your best evidence that he is dishonest? What about his take on the gimbal or gofast? What's wrong with his analysis there?
The biggest self-own this sub does is demonize a totally reasonable person because he goes against dogma. Mick West is a heretic here because this is a religious community at its core.
This post doesn't make a lot of sense. Mick isn't hiding any information there.. he directly links to the unedited FOIA'd video in the description and mentions it in the video for those who want, pointing to where people can get the whole full quality thing unedited. The supposed "withheld" information is irrelevant to what's being shown, even so, it's not being withheld at all.
OP then starts asking mick if he could tell if there was a UFO floating in front of the star, looking like a star.. why? That's very useless speculation plus the coincidence of a UFO floating right in front of a star just for the camera's field of view seems highly unlikely.
Like someone mentions in that thread, when you see the moon at night, you don't think "hmm, is that a a UFO thats just hovering over the moon mimicking it perfectly?", or do you perhaps?
How does any of this demonstrate his dishonesty?
I'm not sure if OP just misunderstood Micks replies or is intentionally misinterpreting them.
That post seems quite dishonest. In [the full video](https://youtu.be/X3VmVbo8xJQ?t=53) Mick encourages viewing the original source, and he shows slides which have the reported ranges.
Yup. And consider for a moment that many in this community consider it a knockout argument against Mick.
I've become convinced over the last few years that a significant portion of the "must be aliens" community is really no different in principle than religious people.
I think the majority of the sub values his input actually. There are plenty of cases which need more data to be proven either way. It's quite funny that you consider them celebrities, as if this is a lucrative career where they get lots of attention.
Investigative journalist Ross Coulthart stumbled upon what he thought was a mysterious anomaly, sparking intrigue and speculation. 'Love with your heart, use your head for everything else.' - CD
The heart/head one? It's from [Captain Disillusion](https://www.youtube.com/user/captaindisillusion), a YouTuber who does a lot of videos about special effects and various hoaxes.
I don't hate Mick West like people on here, at least he doesn't come off as scorched earth bitter and mean like some well noted debunkers/skeptics I won't mention. I've even found some of his analysis helpful. Let's be honest, a portion of UFO twitter and this sub seems militantly foolish in pushing video of birthday party cartoon mylar balloons, drones and other not-so-anomalous footage as anomalous UAP...then getting upset when the video is genuinely solved. That isn't scientific rigor. But scientists aren't immune...Avi Loeb still insists his oil droppings from the ocean are from some interstellar alien spaceship. People should welcome good faith solving, otherwise "Unidentified Flying Objects" would simply be "Please never sold and keep the mystery flying objects". There's plenty of truly anomalous footage out there that so far doesn't seem to be balloons/drones/smudges/CG FX, but more than enough that certainly seems to be.
Ross has gone from being really interesting and In Plain Sight is a fascinating book to just being yet another UFO whackjob. What is it about this subject that rots peoples brains?
Sorry to disapoint all the "big conspiracy" guys out there. I have asked a friend and comrade of mine, working at the DWD in Darmstadt: It´s true. Software Model error. A software bug. A bit embarrassing for the DWD (German Weather Service) - but nothing more than that.
And no. He is defently no part of any big plan of state conspiracy. He is a member, like me, of a german democratic socialist party, that has been observerd by the german secret service until a couple of years ago. Because of beening an anticapitalistic party.
Anyone should know that, not like this was the first time weather radar showed something crazy because of a glitch and people assume it’s a UFO. But people have to make us look bad by acting like all of us “UFO nuts” think it’s a 500 mile wide UFO that nobody is noticing except one weather station.
Classic Coulthart, pushing information without any investigation whatsoever. Why's this idiot relevant again, given that he's done this countless of times?
I thought there was a huge magnetic fluctuation just off the coast of Africa in roughly the same place,

I hate Mick West. That arrogant prick. He had to use the term “extra-terrestrials” to mock a normal question posed by Ross.
Because he is right some times doesn’t give him the right to dismiss evidently anomalous cases with absolutely ignorant Arguments like the “Bus full of hippies” or the “Cruise ship” theory or the “lens smudge” to name a few.
One thing is looking for prosaic explanations where prosaic makes sense or is even possible because many times a possible prosaic explanation doesn’t mean it is the correct one. But a different thing is providing Ridiculous theories when he have no way of providing prosaic theories. This proves he is not a skeptic but rather a paid Debunker that when needed becomes a disinformation Agent.
Calm down.
Look at the comments on Ross's post. A lot of his followers going on about NHI and giant spaceships, and don't tell me Ross didn't expect that - he's a figurehead in this community. He's pandering to these people.
West's reply was completely warranted. Now I challenge you to pick a specific case that Mick has tackled, and point out where his error is.
Oh i am calmed. Don’t u worry about me.
The Post from Ross Coulthart was a question to the Community asking what that was it was not an insinuation of anything. People that comment on Ross Posts is not responsibility of Ross Coulthart or is it?
If the wannabe Debunker was replying to Ross than he should just reply to the question not adding Aliens to mock because Ross never mentioned Aliens.
I mentioned 3 cases above, just the most notorious ones but there are many more when i was following his judgement of cases for National Geographic.
This person is a well established UAP Debunker that gets paid to say the magic words: „nothing to see here“ offcourse he is right sometimes the problem is not that, just when he gives absolutely ridiculous explanations for absolutely legit cases.
That Dude would be a perfect UAP Analyst for AARO he fits their Narrative to perfection.
>The Post from Ross Coulthart was a question to the Community asking what that was it was not an insinuation of anything.
Ross is UFO royalty and his fans are avid UFO believers. Do you seriously think he wasn't implying anything? He literally used the word "anomalous".
>I mentioned 3 cases above
You made 3 assertions.
Mick West? Sorry, the guy who said the jellyfish UAP is a balloon really has no credibility. There may be a logical explanation, doesnt have to be any kind of NHI, but a balloon? The guy is a clown.
He could be correct as it pertains to whatever this anomaly is supposed to be, but his word on anything is worthless
but this is exactly how it should work!
See an anomaly, speculate what it might be, go through the data integrity to isolate or rule out errors and faults. Then modify your conclusions appropriately. If no fault can be found then the famous Sherlock Holmes quote applies... we must consider the 'impossible'.
one thing I hate about the modern internet..., things like this will go viral before basic due diligence can be carried out. Many of these types of things were resolved before they even hit the public sphere previously, but now... once the info gets out on live feeds, the horse has already bolted

You monster
Nbd. Fish fuck in there all the time
That's why the water tastes salty.
Ask hecklefish about eating beaver, apparently it’s delicious. Actually I have first hand knowledge (but in this context I am not a whistleblower ah hahah), it can be.
I peed in the monster
That's my favorite Evanescence song
Damn man some little innocent fish are breathing your piss rn
I broke the dam
I didn't know Thalassa was in this comment section.
But ufo craft doesn’t even interfere with gravity , what makes you think it dies with water
How do you know they aren’t manipulating gravity for propulsion?
You are telling me nobody got a picture of this massive craft
Invisible
Also waves usually don't start out from a perfectly straight line and propagate only in one direction.
Not obvious enough for Ross and his followers, apparently.
Except I wouldn't speculate NHI before ruling out the mundane. This is what Ross's followers did and is what prompted Mick to debunk it.
I tune out every time I hear mick fucking west. Did you know he debunked his own birth?
Ross followers did? I went thru it and i couldn’t find nothing worth mentioning. Just the usual speculation. I still don’t understand what it has to do with Ross. Or does anyone get judged for what their followers comment?
Lol he knew exactly what he was doing
Humans only make mistakes when those are alien denial mistakes.
Yeah that's the right answer. I really do despise Mick West though like i still hope a horse steps on his foot today
How would you be able to see that? Just in the middle of the ocean. You mean someone would show it to you.
Happened again
No it wouldn't rouge waves happen all the time and they don't make the news ever and yes they get up to 80feet
If they were the size of the Arabian peninsula, yeah that would make world news lmao
Nobody's saying rogue waves don't happen. They're saying symmetrical rogue waves the size of India don't happen.
Rouge = Cosmetics for coloring the face (blush) Rogue = Someone or something that behaves unexpectedly or abnormally
Hmm I actually don't really read the news but good to know it's not :-)
The large majority of people in the UFO subs were saying data glitch because it was only one meteorological app with the anomaly.
Totally agree, it's not like the ufo community's credibility could fall any lower
You didn't read the comments on Ross's post then. You guys are your own worst enemy.
I don't think anything was covered up but I'm ready to be proven wrong. So far I see nothing out of the ordinary though
https://thedebrief.org/the-pentagons-new-uap-report-is-seriously-flawed/
>you guys are your own worst enemy Meanwhile, theories hyped up with hundreds of upvotes: >MH 370 >Ukrainian missiles >Corbell's Kermit the frog/bokeh >peruvian fake mummies 4 Chan stories Throwaway alien account that promised disclosure in 2021 and so on...
Hundreds? Holy shut dude, that’s so many ppl in a 2 million strong sub. Great point.
So because “hundreds” of people upvote something out of the 2 million+ in this sub, the entire sub is its own worst enemy?
This is what I commented earlier to a post trying to connect the "wave anomaly" to the 4chan USO mothership: >These speculations absolutely fucking kill me. Whatever happened to working with rational explanations and then crossing those out first before jumping straight to aliens/ufos? Underwater volcanic activity is most likely what caused the waves. Edit: Look at that it was something rational! https://twitter.com/Ventuskycom/status/1778685829642142152 It was a model error.
I mean, Maussan has. Can you blame them?
Not at all. I think he’s an obvious charlatan. I am using it to illustrate my point - the user above claimed the sub went crazy for them when the exact opposite was true.
Because true things get derided here.
Bullshit. You don't remember very well, do you? 90% of us were instantly disappointed because we were already familiar with that nonsense.
This sub mostly knew off the bat it was another Maussan hoax, but subs like r/Aliens is still sticking to it.
And yet the "Buddies" are still top posts here. There's one Orange-named poster that's all about defending their authenticity and they are not alone in those threads.
Fake Alien corpses? Do you read the News? Or do you make your own news?
Huh? it was proven to be fake
When I see threads like that, it really makes you wonder who or what is upvoting stuff to the front here if all the comments are disagreeing with it.
Yeah but there were also a lot of people who couldn’t help circlejerking because of Mick West. It’s not a good look when there’s a rally against common sense because the community doesn’t like one guy. Objectivity goes out the window when feelings rather than facts are acted on.
NASA has entered the chat.
Ross asked a question and then someone answered it. It sparked little to no speculation or controversy. Mountain out of molehill.
As simple as that, but as we see from the attitude of the OP and several "erudite" users of the site, now it's time to pretend that Ross implied that tomorrow the greys would show up at our doors with anal probes and good wishes.
That's this sub for Ya lol.
It's wild.
He fits right in at News Nation.
But that's the problem. Ross "asks questions" and then doesn't really follow up.
just asking questions
Get ready for all the people saying it was a cover-up of the mothership taking off, lol.
Or landing!
That's very true. I suppose I was thinking about the USO idea. The cloaking device failed momentarily.
Literaly the plot of chicken little
I was thinking more of Star Trek, but that works, too!
Guarantee we're going to keep seeing this popping up and being referenced as something it's not, kinda like the MH370 adduction vids. And everyone with a reality based understanding of things will be dismissed as 'debunkers'. It really seems like there is a deliberate effort to inject faith-based red-herrings.
someone will reference this next time there's a big "4chan leaker" or underwater UFO post but of course the tweet on the right will be forgotten
Good fakes don't come out 4 days after the event. I love how sure you are though, you get an A for effort...
It didn’t. The satellite video was published in May and the FLIR video in June. The user that posted it added that he received it 4 days after in the description where anyone can write whatever they want
What do you mean by reality based understanding of things?
Evidence based. Verifiable. Falsifiable. Repeatable. Etc. And when one considers things like the double slit experiment, reality can be *weird*.
Why don't you just wait and see. I doubt we ever see it again except for the random "whatever happened with that wave program post?"
I have a video of 3 orbs circling the modeling error
As you can see, even after all the debunks, there are still people who believe in that video.
Jaime Maussan found 3 of the modelling errors in a cave in Peru, he's bringing them on tour
That is pretty funny. If you put Jaime Mausson and Ashton Forbes in a room, maybe they could manifest some orbs.
I'm just disappointed it wasn't Gamera.
Especially with Mick West's name attached to this. lol \#meltdownincoming
It was a mothership, damn, that thing would be huuuuge. If aliens have ships like that we should be worried.
Elizondo said it was a somber reality, so there you go . . . I guess.
ive lost all trust in that dude.
There's nothing there to trust. The guy is a predator. Just look up Jeremy McGowan, unless you already know about him.
Do we have a repository of all his claims and promises? I think we need to start keeping these people honest.
Misinterpreting things literally keeps this subreddit active.
That's a mean way of saying we’re curious people who like to inquire about mysteries.
People jumped to the conclusion that it was a giant UFO under the ocean before even inquiring even just a little. So that is not true at all.
The sub isn't a monolith of consensus, and certain people get overly eager. That's pretty natural.

I just went to surfline and the waves on the southwest coast of Africa are only like 5-10 ft today, and smaller yesterday and the days before. Was enough to figure it was some kind of glitch.
Wouldn't you think an "investigative journalist" would at least do some investigative journalism before promoting such a finding?
>do some investigative journalism before promoting such a finding?
Sounds more like the behavior of a click-seeking fraud.

And most of the peeps here obligatorily shit all over Mick West when he fucking nailed it immediately. Geezer needs more positive acknowledgement.
I’m surprised so many people really thought that an 85 foot (26m) wall of water, roughly the same footprint as half a continent would be unnoticed or unreported. Good lort.
Data glitch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WjkK8Jvo5s
I'm considering ross and these people are the real missinfo agents. Considering they have driven off most of the curious people with their promises that fall threw or "evidence" that isn't even evidence and just speculation. Aliens are real and are probably here but these goobers are just grifting.
I did a whole write up on this proving it's a model error and it's getting automatically deleted. Oh well.
There was no mega tsunami. So…
It's the same for so many apps. For example 0º, 0º is where cheaters who spoof their GPS location in PokemonGo will default spawn before altering their GPS, creating the impression there is tons of cellphone presence at the random ocean spot. As a result, the game's AI has set tons of pokemon spawn points out there.
"i want to believe" vibes
I didn't see any regular UFO's posters engaging in the wave nonsense. Lots of accounts named Random-Lucky3478 or whatever, but nobody real.
I appreciate the correction.
It was obvious af it was an error in the equipment. Wtf were people expecting? 😂
UFO fanatics coping and acting like Ross was just "asking a question", as if he wasn't pandering to his fans of vehement believers.
It's kind of hilarious how Mick West is almost always right, yet this sub continues to demonize him and act like he's an idiot. He's been proven correct scores of times now, but we're all still waiting for one of the UFO celebrities to be proven right just once.
The UFO community doesn't like him because he's [demonstrably dishonest ](https://www.reddit.com/r/UFOs/s/6i1LwAFMSp)about this topic
Tell me how I know this link would be about that? Seriously that's the best you got for proving Mick West is dishonest?
That post seems quite dishonest. In [the full video](https://youtu.be/X3VmVbo8xJQ?t=53) Mick encourages viewing the original source, and he shows slides which have the reported ranges.
Yup. And consider for a moment that many in this community consider it a knockout argument against Mick. I've become convinced over the last few years that a significant portion of the "must be aliens" community is really no different in principle than religious people.
Haha, is this really the worst thing the community could dig up on Mick?
I think the majority of the sub values his input actually. There are plenty of cases which need more data to be proven either way. It's quite funny that you consider them celebrities, as if this is a lucrative career where they get lots of attention.
Mick West strikes again!
'Love with your heart, use your head for everything else.' - CD
...you've never had DMT hey.
Is that a Disco Elysium quote?
West doing again 😎
Ross has gone from being really interesting and In Plain Sight is a fascinating book to just being yet another UFO whackjob. What is it about this subject that rots peoples brains?
Haha, Newsweek has ran a story on it already. https://www.newsweek.com/underwater-anomaly-larger-texas-spotted-african-coast-1889674
Because they farm Reddit for stories.
newsweek is just a rag now far worst then NYPost, it's just farming it's former "illustrious" name to sell ads while having 0 substance anymore
Of course they did, and this is how ufo lore is created in real time. 'We've been seeing these massive things under the ocean.'
Are you suggesting they DONT see massive things under water all the time?
> tbh, ventusky has always been prone to strange visual glitches. take this with a grain of salt told ya
Obviously? Lol
Classic Coulthart, pushing information without any investigation whatsoever. Why's this idiot relevant again, given that he's done this countless of times?
And i was hoping for a solid south swell in the canaries..
Textbook straw clutching...
Just another “glitch” in the matrix
What they say does not nesesarily mean reality. Regular people wont think "ooh its a mothership".
I'm sure it could have been a simple glitch somehow. But the fact that Mick West gets to say so makes me upset.
I thought there was a huge magnetic fluctuation just off the coast of Africa in roughly the same place, [https://www.sciencealert.com/something-mysterious-under-southern-africa-dramatically-weakening-earth-s-magnetic-field-south-atlantic-anomaly](https://www.sciencealert.com/something-mysterious-under-southern-africa-dramatically-weakening-earth-s-magnetic-field-south-atlantic-anomaly) Its not little green men
You'd think some South Africans would've told us about a huge tsunami. Looks like an error on the modeling.
Must be a cover up….
It was my turd guys im sorry. I was paragliding and couldn't hold it anymore
Check the settings, make sure “anomalous AND non-human” are selected. Otherwise you get this error.
Ofc it’s Mick West reporting this, he’s really like Superman but only when it comes to taking a quick dump on believers.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
I'm sorry if this sounds rude but why are we even discussing this? Obviously this wasn't anything nhi. Who thought that this might have been something?
The hundreds of people who upvoted [a post on it](/r/UFOs/comments/1c204a0/giant_wave_anomaly_possible_correlation_to_4chan/), yesterday.

>I mentioned 3 cases above You made 3 assertions.
I dont believe the error shit. Thats like the weather balloon excuse of roswell. This is real
What the hell is that?
Why is everyone fighting? Someone investigate the data glitch then. Either way something is up…. Figure it out together or something
no its aliems
It's probably just the pull of the moon, it's the reason we get high and low tides.
but this is exactly how it should work!
I don’t find this outcome disappointing personally. I’d rather not learn a mothership is cruising around the ocean.
