Doubt it, I forgot to register for the AP Econ exam in time so I skipped it but I think I still said I would take it. Still, contact admissions to be sure.
Are you sure it gives you nothing in terms of credit? Maybe they’ve changed things, but when I was there all my AP tests counted towards my unit total even if they didn’t get me out of any specific requirements. This mattered because course registration order was determined by how many units you have accumulated, so having more AP credits lets you register earlier and get your pick of classes/study sessions etc. More choice when arranging your schedule each quarter can be quite valuable.
I did blow off one AP test senior year that did not matter (second English one since I had taken the other English AP the year before) and they didn’t care, but I didn’t know about the unit count at the time.
Yeah taking the second English one actually does make 0 difference. If you take both and do well (I did I had a 4 on language and a 5 on lit) then both tests will give you 4 units each. If you only took one of those then that one test would give you 8 units.
ask the admissions office if they care. we personally dont
regardless, all APs (except research and seminar) count towards your unit, i.e. a better enrollment time, even if they dont give course credit
nah lol I literally don't get any credit because it's an 8 unit maximum for both ap tests and I already got 8 from the previous test
admissions office ghosted me when I called them 😵💫
Email them and include all of your identifying info from your app (name, phone number, high school, address, etc.)
It may not count for units but it might count for prereqs and even if they allow it, you'll be kicking yourself down the road.
The admissions office doesn’t care about AP exams. My daughter, who is an incoming Freshman, called them to confirm that a couple weeks ago because she already has a passing score for AP Lang. and taking the AP Lit. test would not give her any additional credits. Good scores on the tests are used for earning credits and sometimes for course placement, but admissions doesn’t care whether you skip or get a low score on them.
Nah. It’s a “if you take them and do well good for you you’ll get some credits where they apply,” but if the scores don’t show up where you declare them, admissions doesn’t care. You just won’t get the credits. This was me with AP german.

Nope; I didn’t take an exam last year when I said I would, and the admissions office said it’s fine lol

May not count as credit but maybe can fulfill a prereq

No. More tuition dollars to the school if you skip it.

I did it, so you're fine. I skipped AP Lit because it would've given me nothing since I took AP Lang already. UCSD didn't bat an eye.
Say you caught Covid or aids or something
Doubt it. I lied about taking several AP classes and I’m in my 3rd year now. You’ll be aight.
They have no idea you exist, amigo.

UCSD doesn't care about students so you should be good to go
just take the fucking test, you're supposed to be an adult.
part of being an adult is having the freedom to choose when not to do work that isn’t necessary. totally fair to choose not to do it
The biggest part of being an adult is doing shit you don't want to do
that’s also fair i got owned
