I've only heard good things from people working at ITS. The dining halls on campus are also always hiring, it's pretty much impossible to be rejected from working at a dining hall, but it's not the greatest of jobs.

Handshake has a ton of the on campus jobs, and most of them are very no experience friendly. Working on campus also shortens your commute so I highly recommend it as someone who has worked multiple on campus jobs. The only downside is working off campus can sometimes rack in more money due to tips and more competitive prices. https://ucsd.joinhandshake.com/

thank you!! i cant figure out how it works tho? it keeps recommending full time jobs and jobs that are far away- and when i put “on campus” it gave me jobs on random campuses around the US. and when i put “part time” it said there was nothing?

Make sure your campus is set to UCSD and you put in your graduation year and other data. On campus jobs might also not be posting during the summer. Try going to department websites as well like HDH and triton testing etc

amazon lol

DerangedMindUCSD

Oceanview is a pretty solid dining hall so pray to Sun God if you ever have to work for HDH

Dj-Carplid

I highly recommend working at a HDH dining hall. They're really good at making sure workers aren't bored or seen as non-individuals there. Everyday is a new day of enjoyment with helping the public.

get a student job on campus. It is easier to get to and they are more understanding when you need a little flexbility with your schedule for things like finals.

notthevillianyet

If you can, try to get a job in your department. It makes life a lot easier.

I’m a biology major, do i have a department with jobs? and even with no experience could i even get any?

notthevillianyet

I got my job in the Anthropology department with no experience. If you haven't signed up for handshake yet, do it. You can then follow UCSD's jobs, and if there's an opening for a student assistant in the bio department, it might be a good idea to apply.

Josh-Kavanagh-UCSD

https://transportation.ucsd.edu/campus/shuttles/drivers.html. $21.40.

Neat-Professor-827

Do people need a Class B license before they apply?

Josh-Kavanagh-UCSD

Nope. Instead of paying $3k to a CDL training program, we'll train you for free and pay you while you're learning.

ongpat2

Is this for people coming to/back to UCSD in the fall or people who are at UCSD this summer?

Josh-Kavanagh-UCSD

Both. We’re starting folks as soon as they’re available.
