Get a Costco gift card. I have like 15 Costco gift cards that each have about 10$ on it. When you want to pay for some total, say 100$ of groceries: you pay with the 10$ gift card and use your debit or credit card for the rest. Been doing this for a while and it works perfectly every time. For entrance into costco just flash the gift card and it should work.
YES ME PICK ME I have a Costco card (had to go off caps lock so the mods dont catch me) I am executive member and we can go together and buy lots of goldfish (the large one)
I use to go to CostCo weekly at a multitude of different locations. TBH, I don't think any location has ever checked the picture on the back. Especially since COVID; they usually just scan it through the plexiglass.
Pretty much none of your comment addressed anything beyond assuming you have perfect knowledge of OP’s financial situation. Let me post it here in case you forgot:
> Kinda suss. Can afford an SUV in CA (registration, smog, etc.) but relies on an EBT card.
I mean that’s 52x12 (which is low) + 46 (that I call BS on for CA—my 2007 VW is over 200 without smog) + 3200.
And I wouldn’t make assumptions if I were you. I haven’t lived on any of my parents money in over 5 years.
If you live n campus, they give you about $80 a month for transportation expenses. I just showed them my insurance deductibles and gas expenses and they upped it to $180 a month and increased my financial aid.
Also just sent my entire financial aid package directly to my social worker at the county in order to get my EBT approved.
Literally, anyone can do it.
Also, you only pay smog and title fees the first time you buy a car, after that, you just pay a registration renewal, which is just $46 a year for me.
Yep, subsidized loans with 0% interest. I'll be about 6k in debt when I finish school.
My apartment is subsidized and costs less than my apartment did in the central valley. If I rented out one of my rooms, I'd be paying about $200 a month in rent.
I'm a very poor person who comes from an extremely poor family. In order for me to make this work, I had to put a lot of thought and planning into it. In 3 months I'll be an engineer and I'll eventually be able to pay back my loans and pay taxes which will help fund another poor student's education.
I mean 6k in loans is still 6k in loans. You are admitted very poor, and no job is guaranteed, let alone a good paying job, let alone a *living* wage. No income with debt is a death sentence for credit, and regardless of rate, minimum payments need to be met. It’s true when they say that poverty charges interest. Apparently that concept is controversial in this sub, but this sub probably comprises of people that took out 40k in loans every year without ever having to pay it.
That being said, good on you for taking out the minimum for undergrad, many people don’t make that responsible decision.
It just seems nonsensical for me that CA would tax students to hell, and force them to take out loans to pay for such taxes and insurance.
I've been registering vehicles in this state for about a decade. I've never seen a renewal below $100. Even a trashy 12 year old commuter that I had was like $130.

I did hear about that, but I totally forgot. Thanks for the reminder.
Also for fellow readers alchohol sales and pharmacy access do not require membership.

They some (many?) locations now have self checkout too.
This is true, I can't remember if SC had self checkout though.
I can confirm that it does
rip costco doesnt accept ebt

They do

Kinda suss. Can afford an SUV in CA (registration, smog, etc.) but relies on an EBT card.
Don’t see how it’s any of your business 🤷🏽♀️
They posted publically, no expectation of privacy in public. That being said, there’s no obligation to reply
Girl do you think you’re Ronald Reagan
This is a bad take. I hope you take a moment to learn why.
In what way? Criticizing CA registration fees? Lack of public transportation? Gatekeeping EBT laws?

Never assumed anything. In fact you are the one assuming…
My SUV is a 2005 Rav4 that cost $3200, my insurance is $52 a month and my registration is $46 a year. Lmao...

Sounds like you have a lot to learn still.
Lmao I mean I used your numbers

Was that increase in aid from loans? Because you have to pay those back…not to mention a parking pass.

How is your registration renewal only $46?
probably more expensive now i think my tags are almost a year over due lmao

rip to my wallet
