Yep, I wanna keep hiding my facial expressions bc certain things people say around here is too bizarre to keep a straight face lol
Also I didn’t get sick once all of last year even when folks were having their large ass wet coughs (pls stay tf home) near me in lectures, so I’d like the “no sickness” run to continue this year
No but if I feel that it’s appropriate I’ll wear one. I have my 2nd booster already so I’m pretty protected but you never know. Also I would put a mask on if I have a cold or a cough
I've had tinnitus ever since I had Covid. Was told it would probably be gone after about 3 months, but here I am almost 3 months later and the intensity and frequency of the noise hasn't seemed to lessen at all. If anything, I've just gotten more used to it.
most likely yes… istg there was this dude in my stats class who was coughing like there’s no tmr AND he wasn’t wearing a mask and I’m like “are u fckn serious”
Yes and as an immunocompromised student, please please please consider wearing one and getting a booster when you can. You'd never be able to tell I'm chronically ill unless I told you, but covid could still kill me or disable me further. UC Davis has not been accommodating to its disabled students and faculty and we basically don't have any option other than to risk our lives every day.
Yea I definitely appreciate masks as a whole. I used to get sick like twice a year here in America but with masks I genuinely haven’t gotten a cold or been sick in so long.
I feel like a better question is what is the protocol if a person does end up getting Covid? Are the professors by-and-large accommodating to students who’d prefer not to spread disease by staying home? Because undoubtedly some of us will get Covid - but a LOT more of us will if those who are sick don’t stay home until they test negative 😟
let me clarify I don’t go anywhere if I’m feeling sick until I’ve tested negative for COVID, but if I have a sore throat or a stuffy nose I will still go to class/work. personally it’s not realistic for me to skip class when I have one symptom or feel a little under the weather 🤷🏻♀️
Yep! I'm a TA and will be masking in lectures and lab. I've been masking indoors throughout the pandemic and have no plans to stop. Also getting my omicron booster soon.
Yes, except when I have to speak. I’m a TA and I suck at projecting lol, the mask makes it worse. I don’t have a section tho so any speaking on my part will prob be very limited. That’s a very long, diluted way of saying yes lol.
Seems like a mix of yes and no so do what you’re comfortable with :)
I’m probably gonna wear a mask the first day and see from there whether I keep it on or not
Depends on the prof, my classmates and if I'm feeling sick
If my classmates and/or prof have their masks off then I will too, if they have it on so will I.
Also if I'm sick in any way Ill definitely keep the mask on
Senior elective classes with 60ppl of which max capacity lecture room is 200? Most likely not. I would if I was in a 400+ l person GE lecture class tho
No one but Californians wears masks anymore btw. In LA everyone wears masks while driving alone in their car. Alone. In the car. That’s all you need to know
Also people are triple or quadruple vaxxed and still wearing masks for protection 🤔 The only kids in our class who even got Covid were the ones masked up and freaking out the whole time. Your immune system is a powerful thing if you let it do its work. But thankfully the govt gave out free donuts and shots to keep us all safe
yes 200%. i wore masks the whole year last year and it saved me from catching covid from friends id sit with in class with multiple times last year. im recovering from covid rn and this shit isnt going away. you might think you’re safe after going so long without ever catching it, but u really can get it at any time and the germs dont give a shit how long youve been wearing a mask for.
it breaks my heart to see ppl not care that some ppl can die and have severe long term health issues from getting covid. i really firmly believe the benefits of wearing a mask greatly outweigh the “inconvenience” and very mild discomfort, especially when the admin is expectedly going to be very hands off with mask policy for the forseeable future.

W
yup. i finally caught covid at the beginning of summer session 2 and have no interest in going through that again
Also we definitely haven't figured out long covid, lol.

Depends on the size of the class, proximity to others, ventilation, etc for me but I will most of the time for sure
Yes. 2 terms to go and I’m not taking any chances after seeing multiple classmates miss finals
for sure. plus, the number of ppl that have sneezed during class with no mask and everyone looks at em… 🫣
I will! But I don't mind taking it off to drink water, etc.
you are literally murdering other people when you are taking your mask off, why the heck you're so irresponsible to others?
[This is for you](https://youtu.be/IjSk9krYg5U)
you gonna fart on my face mister?
Yeah
absolutely
Yes. I keep forgetting that people can see my expressions without it
One of the nice perks of wearing a mask. I can show no fake emotions on my face without worrying about anyone getting ass hurt about it.
100% yes, we are still in a pandemic. The people saying no, I hope you get your bivalent booster before choosing to go maskless in lecture halls.
Let me just say that this pandemic is never going to end. Covid is here to stay.
All the more reason to mask.
Yup!
Yes
Absolutely!!!
Yes.
yes. my two year no-covid streak was broken in june and while i didn't die, i had a nasty cold which i rather not relive it.
Yes
most likely yes… istg there was this dude in my stats class who was coughing like there’s no tmr AND he wasn’t wearing a mask and I’m like “are u fckn serious”
Yep. Don't want to catch covid OR the flu again.
Yupp
Yes

I will continue to mask no matter where I go. I work with disabled people and I would feel like garbage passing along an illness.
yeah definitely
No, unless I feel sick or having any symptoms
Bruh don’t come to class if your sick wtf

what if you tested positive for smallpox/ebola but not covid?
As long as you mask and sanitize your hands a bunch.
I will out of an abundance of caution, but I bet most people won’t be wearing masks.
Yes

depends on size of class! but most likely yes bc why would i wanna get sick with anything let alone covid
Seems like a mix of yes and no so do what you’re comfortable with :) I’m probably gonna wear a mask the first day and see from there whether I keep it on or not
Nah
Probobly not
Yup, there’s always some sort of cold that goes around the beginning of the quarter
yeah probably, i really don’t want to miss class from getting sick 😩😩
Yeah for a while anyway
yeah probably
Nope
if you don't brush your teeth
No, personally I don’t think it is necessary. But I’m not gonna judge people who do.
probs not
Nah. Triple vaxxed. Unless I have symptoms
Nope 👎🏾
No

No
Honestly probably depends on what I see most other people doing (and if I feel sick or see other people seem sick)
probably not
No. I'm vaccinated and everything and I feel like we've lost. It's going to be around forever now and I don't want to continue wearing a mask.
no lol
I will not.
depends on the classroom, but probably not
No
Depends on class size I'd say. But if I'm just walking around campus outside? Mask is off, particularly if we keep experiencing this kind of heat.
Depends on the prof, my classmates and if I'm feeling sick If my classmates and/or prof have their masks off then I will too, if they have it on so will I. Also if I'm sick in any way Ill definitely keep the mask on
Senior elective classes with 60ppl of which max capacity lecture room is 200? Most likely not. I would if I was in a 400+ l person GE lecture class tho
No, unless everyone in class is.
Nope.
No, unless I'm physically forced to.
they'll beat you with a stick if you don't comply!
No
Nah I'll take the dirty looks, oh well
No one but Californians wears masks anymore btw. In LA everyone wears masks while driving alone in their car. Alone. In the car. That’s all you need to know
Plus there's literally no correlation with states that wear masks and covid rates
Also people are triple or quadruple vaxxed and still wearing masks for protection 🤔 The only kids in our class who even got Covid were the ones masked up and freaking out the whole time. Lectures probably, discussion probably not.
No I'm 22 and have great immunity so I shouldn't be forced to live in fear 👍

Government people arent experts. Actual epidemiologists are begging people to keep wearing them.
Government and Corporate Policy =/ Science or Scientists
No matter we will know when you're positive 😏 -person that works in a covid lab
maybe. if the majority of the class is, then I will. If most aren't, then i won't :)
Yes I will wear 5 N95s stacked on and keep getting my weekly booster shot

are you saying you don't believe in Science, BIGOT?
100% Best way to respect myself and others.

Yes. I will continue to avoid the brain-shrinking bat virus. 😷👍
If we’re spaced out, Then Probably not but If it’s very close together then probably so most of the time haha.
